The nonprofit sector continues to need strategic leaders who serve the public good and make an impact on their community and world. In the Nonprofit Leadership graduate program, you’ll gain practical knowledge to craft fundraising strategy, program operations, and social enterprises that address societal problems through healthy organizations. You’ll learn to think critically, act ethically, and inclusively lead changes needed to solve the pressing issues in society and nonprofit/nongovernmental organizations.

Leading a nonprofit or nongovernmental organization of any size requires senior leaders to examine individual and organizational practices and behaviors. In this program, you’ll develop a broad spectrum of tools in leadership, change management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion to better navigate organizational changes and challenges. Enhance your knowledge in board and senior-team leadership, value-centered leadership, strategic direction and planning, and organization culture development. Skills you’ll learn:

A nonprofit organization can only accomplish its mission if its program operations and organizational management are efficient and effective. Staffing, performance evaluation, impact, and the human and financial resources must function smoothly for any organization to succeed. In this program, you’ll learn how to examine an organization’s financial and operational goals and develop partnerships and communitybased strategies that can further an organization’s impact — all through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Changes in philanthropy, resource development, and fundraising are shaping the giving environment that influences how nonprofit and/or nongovernmental organizations plan their funding strategies. From crowdsourcing campaigns to capital fundraising and legacy giving, nonprofits must cultivate and retain donors from diverse contexts, devise new fundraising strategies, and demonstrate impact. Learn to navigate these changing trends while increasing impact and your nonprofit’s mission through diverse fundraising approaches. Skills you’ll learn:

Are you a social entrepreneur or aspiring to become one? Will a social innovation move the needle on a problem or challenge you’re passionate about? Increase your value as a nonprofit leader and learn to address community issues in this handson program designed to help you drive mission impact. In this program, you’ll gain the practical strategies and tools needed to take a social enterprise idea through to launch — plus all the steps in-between: funding, prototyping, scaling, marketing, measurement, and more. Skills you’ll learn:

The Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies found that nonprofits are creating jobs three times faster than for-profits and is the third-largest industry in the U.S., amounting up to 12.3 million jobs. Locally, the nonprofit sector in Colorado is home to 23,100 nonprofit organizations and employs almost 8% of the state’s workforce — generating $40 billion in economic impact. Within the field, there has been a movement to offer more talent development among nonprofit leaders. There’s a unique need to help leaders develop their network and knowledge so they can deliver on the mission of their organizations.
