President’s Report It is my pleasure to announce that we are in the final stages of our social media re-vamp. Over the course of the last few month, our brothers have taken great strides to make sure we are accessible and easy to find online. We urge you to follow, like and join us across all of the platforms we are using to make sure the great things Delta Upsilon does get noticed. Our Presence Online Website: gtdu.org The website is brand new! There are many new features we are excited about. First is the alumni reconnection form. Over the course of our history we have lost touch with a numerous alumni. This feature allows our current contact list of alumni fill in information about ones who may not be getting our announcements. Another exciting feature is our freshman scholarship. Last year we saw a lot of success in honoring three rushees who we think exemplify our principles. This year we have taken it online. The application and forms are embedded into the website! The last thing we're excited about is our website now allows, for those alumni that want, to donate online. We have set up an educational fund to sponsor brothers going to the Leadership Institute or the Regional Leadership Academy.
Twitter: @gtdu Our twitter is used for stream of consciousness. This is where you can find day to day happenings of what's going. Anything from what Carlos (our chef) is cooking up, random pictures of the house dogs, sorority Founders' Day and shout outs to anything in between. We're working on reconnection with old alumni that still want to hear from DU. As LinkedIn grows in popularity, we're hoping that we can start adding alumni to it. Hi, my name is Kiran Rao and I’m a pledge at Delta Upsilon for the Spring 2014 semester at Georgia Tech. I’m from Marietta, Georgia (about 25-40 minutes outside of Atlanta, depending on how fast you drive). I’m involved in several organizations on campus including the Investment Committee of the Georgia Tech Student Foundation and GT Motorsports. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, guitar, and video games.
My name is Suraj Sanghani. I am a first year Civil Engineering major from Matthews, NC. I hope to travel to every continent and spend a month there working with my degree, or at least doing volunteer work. As for joining Delta Upsilon, I hope to gain a good network once I get out of college, but I also hope to benefit from everything the fraternity has to offer me while I'm here, like lifelong friendships and memorable experiences.

My name is Daniel Hochman, one of the three NIBS at ∆Υ this Spring and a 1st year Mechanical Engineering major from Druid Hills High School residing in Decatur, GA, just a few miles East of Campus. Although I have lived in the Atlanta area for most of his life, I was born in Winnipeg, a city in Canada. Because of this, I enjoy an array of sports and activities that characterize the two areas I have lived, including Golf, Basketball, Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Skiing, and Hockey, cheering for Atlanta’s baseball, football, and basketball teams. I am also involved in organizations across campus such as ORGT (whitewater kayaking and rock climbing) and Engineers without Borders. After graduating from Georgia Tech I plan to work on the design of automobile engines. I am very excited to become a lifetime member at ∆Υ and hope to meet everyone soon. Fraternally, Daniel Hochman

Scholarship The Georgia Tech Chapter of Delta Upsilon is proud to present its second annual Building Better Men Scholarships. With one $1000 and two $500 awards, we help three incoming male freshmen pay their tuition based on merit corresponding to the four founding principles. The alumni have graciously matched our chapter donation of $1000 and we are very gracious for this support. We look forward to meeting many applicants and having another successful year. Page 3 Event Updates Saint Baldricks
Formal
This year is another successful year for our St. Baldrick’s fundraising efforts. We raised over $11,000, this could not have been done without alumni donations. Alumni also supported us this year in our second annual alumni poker tournament, the proceeds of which are going directly to St. Baldricks. In other philanthropy news, we held a bone marrow donor registration drive at Tech on March 26th and 27th from 10AM to 4PM. We succeeded in registering over 80 individuals into the bone marrow registry!
This year for Formal we traveled east into South Carolina and explored the city of Charleston. We stayed right in the heart of downtown. During the day we had groups explore the city markets, look out into the bay from the battery, and enjoy some delicious seafood right off the coast. Later that night will cleaned ourselves up and headed to our formal dinner held at the Southend Brewery and Smokehouse. There we enjoyed a lovely 3-course meal, gave out this year’s awards, and even got to dance in our private 3rd floor space. Special congratulations to Zach Slaney for winning DU of the Year, he has truly exemplified what it means to be a DU over his time here, especially this past year. Later this semester we hosted our second annual House Divided Party where we divide the upper hallways and have the brothers split into two and throw two competing parties in each hallway. We look forward to tailgating football games and hosting more events in the upcoming fall semester!
Karaoke & Laser Tag Date Night The past week has been super busy with both date night and karaoke. Date night was held at Laser Voyage, which is laser tag and arcade venue outside of Atlanta. While there were some questionable tactics used by some people to get to the top of the leader board, everyone had plenty of fun running around and shooting each other, playing arcade games, and dodging through the laser maze. The second karaoke night was held last Saturday, and plenty of people were able to embarrass themselves by singing a number of Justin Timberlake, Brittney Spears, and Clay Aiken songs. However, regardless of the quality of the songs and the singing, everyone had fun either by laughing at the people on stage or having fun by singing their favorite songs.
Tug This year, under coach Slaney, our tug team took first place after beating TKE in the finals. This marks the first year we have won Tug and it was due to the constant training and commitment from the team. Special thanks to coaches Zach Slaney and Nick Curran who developed the training program and kept up motivation throughout the year.
