PROJECT SCOPE The area of the FIAT will be the chance to provide Turin with a new model of urban life. Dwellings integrated with food production, housing for low income people and immigrants, with agricultural skills; spaces, services and features to let the younger generation reinvent their own way to work; urban farming that opens towards a new economy, including education, documentation, food retailing, agricultural and zoo-technical services.

LIVING THE COUNTRY THE “VILLAGE BROWNFIELD” CONVERSION IN LOVČIČKY

RADICAL OPTION
The local council of the small village LOVÄŒIÄŒKY near Brno city (Moravian metropolis) has acquired 3 ha site of old dilapidated area of former collective farm. The programme: residential area with 10 units for senior living, new firehouse. The CONCEPT solves urban part on the edge of the village linking to existing functionality of the municipality. The idea has TWO options linked one to each other using stages of the progressive development of the area.

A BREWERY IN THE TOWN
A TOWN IN THE BREWERY
The study deals with possible solutions of spatial and functional order of a site of the former BREWERY inside the historical centre of ZNOJMO town. The site is a brownfield surrounding a historic National Treasure - The Romanesque Rotunda of St. Catharine. Simultaneously, the brewery was declared as the National Industrial Treasure. The functioning of the concept is closely linked to the very centre town life. The study is focused on selected problem areas of the site public spaces. Thus, based on previous analysis and research, the study suggests demolition of selected buildings as well as building new objects with underground parking with respect to historical and nature meaning of the area. The program consists of new poly-functional dwelling house, administration house, restaurant, cafĂŠ, wine shop, shopping spaces, new university facilities, amphitheatre, info centre and others.

The need of extension of a wellness HOTEL TATRA in a rough mountain environment is the challenge for a new concept. The existing hotel is an old fashion style piece of the socialism era and has its new owner having the ambition of creating a new prospering wellness complex. The concept is inspired by the very former - the maker of classic car trademark TATRA who has invented one of the very first aerodynamic cars, the Tatraplan. The idea is to keep this trademark for the hotel as a marketing strategy. The architectural CONCEPT is to refurbish the old building with accenting the characteristic Wallachian style removing the latest extension and to build a new reinforced concrete framework structure of an horizontal aerodynamic shape imitating contour lines of the slope. Thus, it shall optically lower the base of the volume of the existing object. The PROGRAMME: new foyer and check-in desk, restaurant with up to 150 seats, cafĂŠ with up to 60 seats, indoor swimming pool, new balneology, fitness and wellness spaces, utilities, 27 new double bed bedrooms, ski warehouse, second lift and other necessary spaces, corridors and utilities.

molo THE LEISURE PIER
A pier with a cafĂŠ bar - the molo is located on a reservoir spit on a south bank of the Brno`s dam, sought after for leisure activities. The place is half park, half a grassy beach during the summer time and is visited during the whole year for walks, bike rides thanks to a passing pathway right through the place. The area lays in west periphery of Brno city surrounded by pleasant landscape with woods and is reachable by the bus as well as the tram straight from the down town. The concept is to make the natural place more attractive and to offer the public the base camp - the start and end point for sport and relaxation activities, together with the public bathroom and toilets, space for enjoyment and relaxation on the water. The natural base for bathing, swimming, yachting, cross country biking and even during the winter time for ice-skating, ice-kiting and cross-country skiing. The project is based on the nature of the place, with existing awesome wooden sculptures and installations on it, as much as possible. As much space I took on the ground, as I returned it on the decks of the pier.
The structure consists of a timber construction standing on concrete piles on the ground and the pier arms above the water level stand on oak piles in the water. The cafĂŠ is designated for a whole year service, with the capacity up to 30 people and during the season with the wooden terrace together up to 75 people. The overall floor area is 860 Sq m and the width of the pear is 52 m and the overall length is 80 m from which there is 50 m long main arm on the water level. There is also separated unit of storeroom for sportswear together with baths and public toilets in one place. The object of the light and airy structure for a play, entertainment, joy, rest and relax. Come, use it, enjoy it.
