Diptyque’s South Coast Plaza boutique will play host to the Parisian Maison’s luxury cleaning goods debut this month. Each product in the La Droguerie collection combines effectiveness with respect for the environment and features subtle fragrances composed by perfumer Olivier Pescheux. The line features a dishwashing liquid, multi-surface cleaner with vinegar, leather-and-wood care lotion, a scented white porcelain oval, odor-removing candles and a dish brush. Some of the aromatic combinations in the product line include basil, mint and tomato leaf, orange blossom, cedarwood and lavender.

Chef John Tesar, a four-time James Beard-nominated chef, has opened a new coastal seafood concept, Outer Reef at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa in Dana Point. Chef Tesar credits the waters in front of the resort as his inspiration behind the menu. “All of the fish is indigenous to this ocean so in that sense it will be familiar, but we’ve done things differently with a scrupulous attention to detail,” he explains. “I think our guests will be pleasantly surprised by the unique perspective we’ve put on classically prepared recipes. The menu is elevated, yet approachable and very shareable.” San Diego uni and king crab scampi are some of the fresh fish dishes you can expect in a stunning seaside setting. “The restaurant was designed like a beautiful beach house in the Hamptons, because that’s where I grew up,” says Tesar. “Everything is white and blue with clean lines, but it’s also very fun and whimsical as if you’re visiting someone’s beautiful beach house.” outerreefoc.com
