I graduated from the Tatung University of industrial design in Taiwan. During these year, I always pursue a innovative approach to the design, and manufacture of functionally viable products, while maintaining a focus on aesthetics. My goal as a designer is to be in control of whole process from the first sketch to a finished product. CREATIVE BACKGROUD W HY A R E V IN YL B A CK IN T H E G RO O VE

Most people listen to the most convenient devices at hand,such as mobile phones and digital Walkmans. Music is omnipresent nowadays. However, behind the trend of “ fast fashion ” , people start to cherish the value of classics and timelessness.


CO M M E RCI A L O P P O RTU N IT Y In 2013, the U.S. sold 4.6 million vinyl records, nearly five times more than five years ago. According to statistics, global vinyl record sales totaled $ 171 million, compared to only $ 55 million five years ago. The entire Taiwan market has grown since 8 years ago.


ABOUT If you listen to songs on your computer, a lot of information will make you dizzy. But, when you have a record in your hand, you need to take it slowly: put it on the record player and listen to music. In other wordsďźŒ when you buy a vinyl record, you just buy yourself leisure.

CONCEPT The core of the product is a technique that incorporates automatic optical inspection with pattern recognition algorithms. That is, using an optical lens to detect the surface of the vinyl, then using a numerical algorithm to translate the engravings on the surface into digital music.

The lens scans the surface of the vinyl, and then uses an algorithm to convert it into digital audio.

When the automatic optical detection lens is scanned, the light will change to light blue.
