The prospects of the Maritime Industry for 2023
from NAFS December 2022
Reflecting on the last 12 months, it seems that 2022 is closing on a positive note for the shipping sector, despite the challenges we are still facing today, specifically the Energy Crisis, the Russia – Ukraine War and the Decarbonization.
The prospects for 2023 remain positive for the Greek Shipping companies, even though the above-mentioned challenges continue, along with anticipated increase of the D/D cost, mostly due to increase of energy, raw material & labour cost & operational cost of the shipyards worldwide.

During 2023 a large number of ships will require slots to perform BWTS retrofits that will keep shipyards very busy along with the ships that will carry out their special surveys; it can be inferred that the shipyards’ order books are expected to be full very early in the year.
Moreover, market analysts predict that the prospects will continue to be positive in 2023 for the fields in which our company EUPLOIA DRYDOCKS AND SERVICES LTD operates, i.e., the sector of Shipyards Representation, Representation of BWTS & SCRUBBER makers, as well as the Supply of Spare Parts & Services on board the vessels, despite the fact that the challenges of 2022 will continue in 2023.
However, Global Shipping and especially Greek Shipping with quick reflexes can move forward and overcome the above difficulties.
Taking the opportunity, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our loyal customers who honour us with their trust. Let us continue to successfully ‘sail’ together towards the transition of the shipping sector into the new era.
Happy & Prosperous New Year 2023!
