Bridge to Sixth

On 3 July, we held our Bridge to Sixth programme at Eaton Square Sixth Form with our current Year 11 students and our new joiners for Year 12. The students engaged in a range of workshops throughout the day which were designed to best prepare them for A-Level studies.

To begin the day, Mr Lee, our Head of Sixth Form, facilitated a session 'Studying for Success', followed by an 'EPQ' session led by Mr Pittard. We then welcomed the University of Essex in to facilitate two practical workshops. The first was about the world of marketing whereby students had to create a company, product and TikTok advert. The second saw students learn about finance and business by completing a Lego challenge. Finally, our guest speaker Mark McDermott, CEO and Founder of Screencloud, shared his wisdom and advice about taking risks and how to learn from your failures. To close the day, Mr Lee discussed how to make the most of the Summer ahead. Students learnt valuable lessons and key skills throughout the day, ones we hope they will harness and embrace as they move into A-Level studies.
