Join us at the Mt. Royal Library for a fun night of crafting! Using paper and vinyl, create your very own floral shadowbox to decorate a space or create a custom gift for a friend. The final product will measure 8x8 inches and can be freestanding or hung on a wall. You also have the option to have a single-letter monogram on the cover!

LEGACY Event: CLIMB Theatre Presents “The Ant & The Grasshopper”

In a continuation of Aesop’s Fable, “The Ant and the Grasshopper”, two friends compete together to find their voices, however hardworking Ant and playful Grasshopper are having trouble finding their harmony. The program is 35 minutes long and is geared to kids up to 10 years old and their families. This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACFH).

We are excited to welcome back Shawn Bernhardt, local educator and mushroom grower, for a presentation on growing this delicious fungus at home. This informational and hands-on workshop will demonstrate how to start a shiitake mushroom log, including the supplies needed, growing conditions, and harvesting skills. Participants will not receive a mushroom log from this workshop. Registration required.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM • All Ages

Readers of all ages, it’s time to gear up for summer reading! Stop by any of the three branches to pick up your time tracker and learn how to join Beanstack to track your reading time. Reading can look a lot of different ways—whether you’re reading aloud, being read to, listening to an audiobook, or reading on a device, it all counts towards your minutes. Log those minutes and complete challenges to be eligible for some great prizes! Participants under the age of 18 who log 20 hours of reading get to choose a free book from the book cart. This year’s Summer Reading Program is Find Your Voice. Be on the lookout for themed activities throughout the summer!

Stuffy Sleepover!

Stuffy Storytime and Sleepover Drop-off

Your stuffed animal will have a rockin’ time making new friends, playing games, reading stories, and causing a little mischief around the West Duluth Library.

You can drop your stuffy off anytime after 10:45 am on Wednesday, June 7th. Stuffies will be ready for pick up anytime Thursday, June 8th (10am-8pm), or Friday, June 9th (10am-5pm).

A sleepover memory book will be created and be available for pick up the following week. Please register in advance! It’s recommended NOT to bring your favorite, can’t-go-a-nightwithout-them stuffy!
