AVIEWFROM WASHINGTON, DC 2021proved to be a perfect storm for the high-end housing market as the starts-and-stops of the pandemic?s reopening fueled even stronger demand for larger homes and inventory struggled to keep pace. Here in Washington, the luxury market was incredibly strong. While manylarge citiessuffered from a loss of residents, and a lack of foreign buyers for much of the year, DC benefited from both local buyers jumping to larger residences in-town aswell asdomestic buyers looking to grow their presence in the city.
RECENTMARKETMOVERS Washington, DC saw 11sales above $7,000,000 this year. The highest of which was a home in Massachusetts Avenue Heights for $13,000,000 which we had the privilege of representing both buyer and seller on. The Wesley Heights neighborhood saw two sales which closed for $11,492,000 and $7,500,000 respectively. Other high sales also took place in Kalorama for $7,750,000, and Georgetown for $ 7,000,000, as well as another in Massachusetts Avenue Heights for $10,900,000.
