Rain, Hail and Joe!

Clanbrassil street and the square were a sea of stars and stripes on Wednesday as a large crowd welcomed the 46th President of the United states, Joe biden to town. The long anticipated visit was only confirmed last week after months of speculation and on Wednesday morning those who ventured into town were met with hundreds of gardaí who were patrolling the town ahead of the President’s visit.

The mammoth security operation ahead of the Presidential visit saw over 40 manholes checked and sealed as well as the removal of bins around the town. at the time of going to press, Clanbrassil street was deathly quiet with the roads closed to vehicles since Tuesday evening and gardaí restricting access to pedestrians on to the main street.
