In the primitive sense, graphic design is a dialogue one makes with the world, leaving a record of that dialogue for later generations. As a graphic designer, we have the power and responsibility of creating values out of every design work in communicating that message. In every project, it’s important for me to clarify the intention of the project itself – which I call “start with issues underneath the surface, digging down the visual solutions. Without a proper understanding of what I’m designing for, I would never be able to deliver any of values. I’m on the journey of pursuing a purposeful graphic design career path. / The brand Sen & Gom is a boutique ceramic shop located at the heart of Sai Gon, Viet Nam. Established in early 2018 by two young entrepreneurs with the passion for hand-crafted pottery, ranging from dinnerware to decor basics.

/ The idea Aspired by the brand manifesto “Mindful living�, a blend of exposed steel & rustic wood in the store decor and the roughness in the products itself. I created an identity that captures those senses of Free-spirited, Raw and Cozy feeling with a modern take. The symbol features the connection between people with the love for hand-crafted ceramic arts.

ILLUSTRATION

/ Plastic - A Toxic Love Story

Like it or not, plastic (especially single-use plastic bags) has become indispensable in our everyday life. They have become standard in grocery stores, cluster in drains, spill out of garbage cans and tangle in trees. They have become part of the city’s visual landscape, the kind of everyday objects so pervasive that they seem invisible.

Incredibly, human's love for plastic is the same, invisible but durable and capable of spreading strong and fast even without prior notice. And from this perspective, I want to capture this century's love of humanity and plastic via this illustration project - "PLASTIC - A TOXIC LOVE STORY". This project reflects my points of view and feelings towards this disputable issue we are facing all over the world.

This project was published on April 22, 2020, marking 50 years of Earth Day. I hope that this project somehow will lay an impact on your next decisions or actions towards plastic usage, to break up with "plastic" or simply say "NO, THANKS!" to single-use plastic.
