Will You Pray For Our Nation? In the face of widespread insecurity, fear, and hopelessness, our nation desperately needs your prayers. Today we are surrounded by the effects of forgetting—even forsaking—God, both as a nation and as individuals. The problem is too big for human effort. Our nation has a heart problem, and only God can fix it. Will you join us in prayer as we ask God to heal our land? We have a promise from the Lord: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear

DADE CITY — Anyone who has ever played Monopoly knows one of the most desirable pieces of real estate on the board is Park Place. Tampa-based Metro Development Group is rolling the dice on Pasco County, dusting off plans for a massive new community on the former Epperson Ranch. And Wesley Chapel’s new Park Place will be the first community in the U.S. to feature Crystal Lagoon, a man-made 8-acre swimming pool with its own private beach. Originally developed in Chile, Crystal Lagoons have been built in 60 countries ranging from Australia to Egypt — the largest is 30 acres. Metro President Greg Singleton said he wanted to offer a unique amenity that would differentiate his com-

munities from other real estate projects. Park Place is the first of four such projects that will be featured in the Tampa market. “When you see them in person, it’s breathtaking,” he said. “What’s important is that the community is going to be affordable. The homes will be priced in the mid-$200,000s.” The lagoon would hold up to 18 million gallons of water. Singleton said the preliminary design calls for a water obstacle feature, a swim-up bar, volleyball courts, a waterslide tower and a boat launch. “You can kayak or paddleboard,” Singleton said. “You could even use a small sailboat.” The patented technology keeps the lagoons clear and safe at a fraction of the cost of operating a traditional swimming pool. They are designed to use less water than a golf course. “And it’s so clear, it’s like holding up a bottle of Zephyrhills Spring Water,” Singleton said. Construction is slated to start in early

2015, along with the first phase of Park Place. Commissioners approved the rezoning for the 590-acre segment of the former Epperson Ranch last week. The 1,742-acre ranch was once slated for nearly 4,000 homes and 250,000 square feet of retail space. Metro bought the entire ranch and its entitlements from Lennar in late 2007 while Pasco’s housing market was in the midst of a historic collapse. The developer is selling 1,051 acres - including land on King Lake - to Standard Pacific Homes, which also rezoned its parcel last week for nearly 1,800 homes. The gated community would have a community dock and private boat house amenity center on King Lake. Clarke Hobby, attorney for Standard Pacific, said the company is planning to offer homes at a higher price point, similar to the style of homes available now in Estancia at Wiregrass Ranch, where home prices top out in the $800,000 range. “It will be a lovely community,” he told commissioners last week.

April 2016 WINNERS!

How Do You See Yourself? Dr. Dianne Coflin Co-Pastor, River of Life Church In Numbers 13–14, Moses had been commanded by the Lord to send out men to explore the Land of Canaan. This was the land that flowed with milk and honey. This was the land of their inheritance the Lord had promised to give them. The men returned with a great report of a bountiful country, however, they also saw all the giants in the land they had to conquer. Thus, they came back greatly discouraged!! Unfortunately, all they could see was that these giants were going to devour them, and they compared themselves to their stature. They said, “We felt like grasshoppers,” and they presumed to think that these giants thought of them in the same manner. Maybe your promised land is a new job, a home, a resolved court case, a health issue that needs a miracle, a change in your circumstances or your finances, a healed relationship, or the beginning of a new season in life. Maybe you’ve thought this is my rightful inheritance as a child of the King. However, in your mind, the giants of fear, insecurity, comparing yourself to others, and your own inabilities have spoken to you. They have caused you to become just like these men, paralyzed with fear and unbelief, and you feel just like a fragile grasshopper, a person that feels like a “less than” to receive your land of promise. What held Israel back from receiving

wasn’t the giants in the land but their own self-destructive limitations. Upon hearing their negative report, the whole congregation began to cry and complain. They were filled with self-pity, even questioning the goodness of God to bring them to such a place. Maybe you are in such a place right now, and the promise of God seems too hard to possess. People and their opinions matter so much to you they hold you in captivity. If that’s you, today is your day to begin to turn it around and recognize a new way. You see, there were also two men that spied out this same Promised Land who saw things differently. They would not let all the opinions of the other men affect them. They chose to believe that if God led them to this Promised Land that he was well able to help them possess it!! They chose to believe in God’s ability instead of their own. They chose to not fear but be filled with faith (confidence) instead of doubt. They chose not to complain and become sidetracked by the appearance of these giants. They chose to believe that God had a good plan!! Sometimes a simple adjustment in attitude can make all the difference. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God in prayer and let him infuse you with fresh eyes to see your promised land with the courage to go in and possess it. Food for thought! Dr. Dianne Coflin, Co-Pastor of River of Life Church, Lutz, Florida. Our services begin 10:30am on Sundays. We would love to have you come! 410 Chapman Rd. East, Lutz, FL 33549 (813) 949-9931 • www.roltampa.org

“If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” — John 14:15-17

The Breaking Point

Samantha Taylor, Pure Health Elite Fitness Studios Many of us have a place in our life where we reach a point of frustration and we just can’t take it anymore. I call that our Breaking Point. The good thing is the breaking point can actually help us in life because it forces us to do something about our situation when we have become so uncomfortable with ourselves that we actually get fed up and we do something to make a change. One particular breaking point that happens for many women is when their largest size clothes don’t even fit anymore and they refuse to buy a bigger size. This can actually be a healthy boundary to have for yourself— to refuse to continue to go up in larger-sized clothes. This can be a good breaking point because when your largest size doesn’t fit anymore and you won’t buy more clothes, then you will be forced to do something about the weight. By the sheer default of being so uncomfortable in your clothes that you can hardly breathe, you reach that breaking point to say, “This has got to stop! I must do something!” Or you bend down to pick something up and the button pops off! You can use that frustration in a way to motivate yourself as you decide you aren’t going to put up with it another day. That is one great thing, yet also one challenge about our God-given free will. You can decide to do something, or you can decide not to. It is YOUR choice! However, with that choice will come consequence or great reward. So my question to you is, “Have you reached your breaking point?” Have you realized you just aren’t going to take it another

day? To see improvement, you have to refuse to accept mediocrity, and be unhappy with yourself enough to do something about it. Tony Robbins (a behavior expert) says, “To make it real, you schedule it and take immediate action towards it.” What can you schedule in your life THIS week to make it more real? Something that will move you forward in the direction that you want to go with your health and fitness. Put it on your calendar or even stop and do something about it right now! Think of what it is that you can do and do it! There is great power in taking immediate action when you are excited to do something about it. If one thing you can do is watch a free online seminar I have called, “Fixing Your Metabolism,” then go watch it right away. That will help you take that next step to doing something about your breaking point and turning it in something that catapulted you into victory. You can do it!!! Go to http://purehealthstudios.com/freedom. Of course, you can also set a Body Transformation Analysis up with me so we can map out a plan to your success. Go here to do this: www.schedulebta.com. Most of all, please take action towards your health for you and your family. Don’t wait until your breaking point is a health crisis where you are forced to take action and have negative consequences from it, like a heart attack or stroke instead of choosing to do something about it proactively. Summer is almost here. It’s a great time to get into shape now!

What is Your Definition of a Worldview? James H. Willis, III Founder and President The Willis Agency, Inc 813-948-9109 Jim@TheWillisAgency.com www.TheWillisAgency.com 1 Peter 5:7 According to the dictionary, a worldview is “the overall perspective, from which ones sees and interprets the world” or “it is a collection of beliefs about life and the universe, held by an individual or group..” It can also be said that it is “the sum total of my convictions about myself and the world I live in.” So, basically, our worldview should drive how we run our lives. George Barna, in his research, a “Biblical Worldview,” stated the need to believe in an absolute truth. This truth can only be found in the Bible—the Word of God. As many Christians as there are who believe in Jesus, there are only 9% who think like Jesus. This is a startling truth and one that sends an inconsistent message. All worldviews can be lumped into 3 grand philosophies: 1. Theism 2. Transcendentalism 3. Naturalism Experts realize that a worldview must be lived out completely, and many agree that theism offers the only workable worldview for our lives. They found Biblical wisdom is timeless, transcendent, accurate, universal, and practi-

cal, knowing that God alone is the source. So, let me ask you, “Have you thought about what is your worldview?” And, if you are a Christian, “How are you actually living this out?” Allow me to suggest helpful hints: 1. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord (Prov. 9:10, 2:6) 2. This wisdom is found in the Bible— God’s word (2 Tim. 3:16-17) 3. We are guided to truth by the Holy Spirit (John 16:13) 4. And, we are each given a core value of community (1 Cor. 12:7) A look at what our results will be: Confidence in knowing who we are and where we are going. Peace of mind that soothes the soul and rids us of worry and guilt. Eternal perspective in that it is not all about the here and now, but eternity. We can focus our lives on God’s agenda, not ours. God is God, I am not. What a relief that is! Right? So, what is guiding your life? Your worldview? You can write out your own worldview now. Blessings. Caring for you and yours, Jim

“All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:25-27

New Pasco Development Continued from Page 1

Park Place is approved for 1,516 homes; the first phase will have 371 lots. Metro will begin construction on the new home lots and on the extension of Overpass Road next year. The developer ultimately will be responsible for completing the unfinished segment of Overpass Road, which will give drivers access to the future interchange at I-75. Construction is scheduled to start on the $55 million interchange by 2020. Singleton said Pasco’s second Crystal Lagoon will be built in a community called “Mirada” on the former Cannon Ranch property at I-75 and State Road 52. Metro has already met with county planners on the project and filed a preliminary site plan with 20 acres set aside for the lagoon amenity. In Hillsborough

County, Metro is planning a Crystal Lagoon at a new development near Wimauma. The community hasn’t been named yet. Metro hasn’t released the location of the fourth Crystal Lagoon community. Singleton said each neighborhood homeowners association will be able to decide whether to allow any public access to the lagoon. “It’s not a water park, it’s designed for the residents,” he said. lkinsler@tampatrib.com (813) 3711852 http://www.tbo.com/pasco-county/ proposed-pasco-development-will-featureman-made-lagoon-20141112/

Girl Scout Troop 966 Donates To Tampa Palms Elementary

Gina, Mallory, Isabella, Carissa, Emory, Lily, Kaitlyn, and Alexandria. In this picture, we are selling our cookies.

I would like to bring attention to the work of the Girl Scout Troop 966 of Tampa Palms, which is raising money through their own work to purchase and donate a new bicycle rack to Tampa Palms elementary school. These girl scouts, eight girls in 5th grade, are working on a sustainable Girl Scout project for a Bronze Award. Their journey is complete when a girl has earned all the awards associated with the journey, which include creating and carrying out a “Take Action project.” The Girl Scout Juniors, as per Girl Scout law, care for our neighborhood and they have made a list of needs they can support. The main choice was to support kids, and they found a good cause in safety when going to school. To get an idea for how they could find backing, they interviewed Ms. Lippek, the principal of Tampa Palms Elementary, the local police, the crossing guards, and kids and parents on bicycles. They plan to reach

out to local politicians in the near future. Their findings show there is a desire to see more kids on bicycles and for them to know the laws of the road. Mrs. Lippek also emphasized the need to take good care of their bikes. The school regularly gives out helmets. Troop 966 has decided to pursue a sustainable project by donating a bike rack to the school. Next, they will have the local police come to give a lesson about street smarts. They hope this can be a yearly event. The girls are working hard to collect the money, creating chocolate lollipops which you might have tasted, and selling cookies. The Tampa Palms Womens Club gave them an opportunity to work for support by doing house chores. We are very pleased to invite you to attend when the bike rack is placed at the Tampa Palms Elementary school in May. The local police and Mrs. Lippek will be attending. We like to make the world a better place! For contact: 813-528-2289.

God’s Long-Term Health Care Plan Space Available! “Hell” Forgot About That!

The Benedictine Sisters of Florida are truly blessed. At their annual event on March 4th, the Sisters were presented with a $1 million dollar donation from John Picciano. The Sisters recently launched The Future Is Now $1,650,000 campaign to build an additional wing onto Holy Name Monastery. The wing was in the original plans of the monastery when it was built in 2014. “We knew the new facility would garner renewed interest in our community over a period of five or six years, but did not imagine it would happen so quickly,” explains Prioress Sister Roberta Bailey, OSB. This past year the requests from large groups wanting more than just a day retreat as well as women interested in discerning a vocation have presented challenges. Living out their mission meant the Sisters needed more space now. John Picciano, a friend of the community since his days as a student at Saint Leo University, stepped up to chair the campaign. He is a former priest with the Diocese of Orlando and is now the CEO of Ogelthorpe, Inc., an

inpatient multi-hospital system dedicated to substance abuse care and counselling. John spoke eloquently of the Sisters and their influence on his life. “The Sisters’ prayers, work and giving to others just as Christ did, need our support,” said John. “Their example illustrates to the world what it is to live spiritually, care for the vulnerable, stand with the oppressed, promote peace, and advocate for justice.” The check was presented and a standing ovation commenced from the event audience for the Sisters and for Mr. Picciano. God is good! Revenue from the event along with Mr. Picciano’s extraordinary gift and other very kind donors brings the total raised to date for the new wing at $1,334,896 with just $315,104 to goal! If you would like to contribute in helping spread God’s Word with the Sisters, please call Faith Pridmore at (352) 588-8443 or simply send your gift payable to the Benedictine Sisters of Florida, PO Box 2450, St. Leo, FL 33574-2450. Ladies: Are you looking for something fulfilling to do for women and their families in our community? Why not look into becoming one of LifeChoices Women’s Care’s life coaches or one of their community outreach coordinators? LifeChoices Women’s Care, a part of Guiding Star Tampa, offers holistic care, enrichment, and empowerment for women and their families. Pregnant moms and new moms can be a part of an earn while you learn program called Women of Worth (WOW). They can earn maternity clothes, baby diapers and wipes, and baby items. Monthly mommy support group meetings are also held at the center as well as a nursing

mothers support group. Here is one of the testimonies of one of our life coaches: “For many years, I helped in different ministries working with children of all ages, but I wanted to try something new. When I found out about LifeChoices Women’s Care, I hurried for the opportunity to experience something new. The first emotion was fear. I truly feared being outside of my element of speaking and helping individuals with some of life’s decisions. With each passing moment, I thank God for the opportunity to help people, yet learned they help me so much more. I learned the value of friendship and to appreciate the smallest things in life. As a volunteer, I learned that most of the time our clients are really helping us.” - Vanessa R. The center is a part of Guiding Star Tampa located in the Chateau Professional Park at 18560 North Dale Mabry Hwy., Lutz. Call the center to explore this volunteer opportunity at (813) 948-7734.

Your Home Doesn’t Come With A Lifeguard

Staying safe around water is more than staying near the lifeguard at the pool. Every year, many children drown in residential swimming pools, bath tubs, buckets of water, and other containers of water. Here in Florida, there is a pool in nearly every back yard. However, the beach and swimming pools are not the only dangers. Anywhere there is water there is risk for drowning. Do not leave a young child unattended near any source of water, not even for a moment. Remove the risk and prevent access • Use physical barriers to prevent children from accessing any source of water. • Use safety locks on toilets and keep bathroom doors closed and toilet-bowl covers down if there are small children in the home. • Empty cleaning buckets immediately after use. • Empty kiddie pools immediately after use. • Install barriers around your home pool. Pool alarms and covers provide additional layers of protection. • Know the water hazards in your community and make sure children stay away. These hazards could include: drainage ditches, garden ponds, creeks and streams, wells and cisterns, and canals. • When visiting another home, check the site for potential water hazards and always supervise children. Practice water safety • Teach children to always ask permission to go near water. • Never leave a young child unattended in

a bathtub and do not trust a child’s life to another child or to aids that help a child sit upright in the tub. • Have young children or inexperienced swimmers wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket around water. • When swimming, set specific rules for each individual based on swimming ability. • Assign a person to watch over children when they are in, on, or around a body of water. Know how to respond to an emergency • If a child is missing, check the water first. Seconds count in preventing death or disability. • Know how and when to call 9-1-1 or the local emergency number. • Enroll in water safety, Red Cross first aid, and CPR courses to learn what to do. • Have appropriate equipment, such as reaching or throwing equipment, a cell phone, life jackets and a first aid kit. A Century of Water Safety For the past century, the American Red Cross has helped millions of people learn to swim and be water smart. To honor our 100 years of water safety, we launched the Centennial Campaign—a multi-year action to lower drowning rates by 50% in 50 local communities. The campaign is a multiyear action that will increase our impact by 50,000 and hopefully inspire many more people to sign up for swimming and water safety lessons at local facilities. The American Red Cross offers numerous swimming and water safety programs for children, parents, and swim coaches. Learn about the six-level Learn-to-Swim program, find out about preschool aquatics programs, or learn about Safety Training for Swim Coaches. To find classes for your family, contact your local aquatic facility and ask for American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim programs. 3 Steps to Winning Your Loved Ones to Jesus Continued from Page 1

1. Stand on God’s guarantee for the salvation of your family. The Philippian jailer who guarded Paul and Silas during a violent earthquake pleaded, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). He was told, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (verse 31). Look at what happened next: “They spoke unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.” (verse 32). Each of your loved ones has free

will, of course, but you can begin to claim God’s promises for them. 2. Pray for lost loved ones to be saved. Interceding for the lost and hurting is a mighty calling. It’s natural to begin with a desire to reach out to loved ones. The Bible tells us, “The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10). Claim that promise! 3. Take authority over the forces of evil. The battle for souls must be won in the spiritual realm before it can be won in the physical realm, for “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12). Take authority over the enemy. Prepare to dominate the dominator and torment the tormentor!

from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV)

Please also join us in prayer for the millions of individuals who are at a critical crossroad and don’t even know it. Pray that those who don’t know Jesus Christ will turn and find forgiveness, hope, and peace in Him. Let’s stand together and ask God to pour out His Spirit on our nation. Commit to join us today in concerted prayer, and we’ll send you updates on the lifesaving work of evangelism. https://secure.billygraham.org/pray-forour-nation/pray-for-our-nation.aspx?SOUR CE=BY120PRAG&gclid=CKCxi_TVw68CFWvktgodynrdaQ

leads worship services for local Christians and Muslims who are interested in learning about the God of love. He can be targeted by Muslim extremists at any time he chooses to serve, but he knows that his life and the lives of his family members are in God’s hands. As ISIS has advanced through parts of the Middle East, The Voice of Martyrs has increased its ministry efforts to our Christian brothers and sisters who face persecution at the hands of Islamic extremists. They who Through VOM, you can help Christians fleeing from ISIS and other extremists by providing a simple care package called a Family Med Pack. These packs are filled with everyday health and medical items such as Band-Aids, gauze, medical tape, washcloths, toothbrushes, soap, and other items. Mohammad and his family lived in a tent. They were forced to flee their home in Mosul, Iraq, after ISIS invaded in June 2014. Because he was a Christian converted from Islam, ISIS would have executed Mohammed if they had caught him and he had refused to renounce Christ. Muhammad became a Christian in 2005 after having a dream and vision of Jesus. His wife rejected his newfound faith until three months later when she had a similar experience. Today, while living in a refugee camp, Mohammed

have lost everything because of their faith. VOM has provided food, shelter, clothing, and Bibles to more than 18,000 Christian families. This program is a great way to get involved helping Christians fleeing ISIS. Visit www.persecution.com/packs or call 877-337-0302 to learn more.

The Qur’an And TheThree Verses That All Christians Should Know

Islam is often presented as a very simple religion. It’s just the submission to Allah, but if you dig a little deeper, you find out in Qur’an 4:65 that submission to Allah requires complete obedience to all of Mohammed’s decisions. That’s where Islam gets a lot more complicated, because Mohammed’s decisions

Three Verses In The Qur’an Continued from Page 8

are spread across thousands of stories in Hadith that constitute source of guidance for Muslims apart from the Qur’an. Keep in mind that there are more than 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and many of them are Muslims who place a strong emphasis on preaching and winning converts to change others religious faith or beliefs. ISIS extremists’ efforts to persecute Christian Muslims to change, get out, or die sounds a lot like the Spanish Inquisition in 1492 when that nation’s Catholic rulers declared that all Jews who refused to convert would be expelled from Spain. 1492 was also the year Christopher Columbus left Spain to discover America. Chances are, you’re not going be around when your children’s friends preach Islam to them or when they go to school or college and hear about how wonderful Islam is. Not just from their friends but also from their professors. So in general, it makes sense that Christians should know something about

the Qur’an because most Christians don’t have the time or the resources to know what

Islam teaches. David Wood has narrowed down these three verses that all Christians around the world should know something about. First know that the holy Qur’an is divided into chapters called (Surah) and further divided into verses called (ayat). In the Qur’an 4:157 gives you the Islamic view of Jesus’ crucifixion: Qur’an 4:157 “They said (in boast), “‘We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.’ But they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to

Fax: 813-949-0891 11 WINNERS!

follow, for of a surety they killed him not.” Notice that Jesus was never killed, he wasn’t even crucified. Islam denies the crucifixion of Jesus ever took place. But if Jesus was never crucified, why do Christians believe he died on the cross? The Islamic view is that Allah miraculously disguised someone making him look like Jesus, and he was crucified, not Jesus. The reason you believe Jesus was crucified, according to Islam, is that Allah did an excellent job tricking everybody. It’s interesting to wonder how far false prophets will go in order to deny what Jesus did for us. Muslims often claim the Bible has been corrupted, but there are plenty of verses in the Quran that show that if the Bible has been corrupted, Allah surely doesn’t know anything about it. Quran 5:47 is one of those verseses. Here, he commands Christians to judge by the gospel: Qur’an 5:47 “Let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel.” Allah commands us to judge by the gospel, and He says we are rebels if we don’t. Clearly we can only judge by the gospel if we actually have the gospel. So if we obey Allah and we judge by the gospel, we have to judge that Islam is false, because Islam contradicts the gospel when it says that Jesus died on the cross. If you have never understood why Christians and others are horribly mistreated in places like Iraq, Egypt, and Pakistan, the reason for the abuse is found in the Qur’an. Allah commands Muslims once

they’re in the majority to violently subjugate Christians and Jews. Allah says in Qur’an 9:29, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the last day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued.” Notice Allah commanded Muslims to fight people based on their beliefs, and the people he is referring to are Christians and Jews. So Muslims are commanded to fight us until we pay tribute to them, acknowledge our inferiority and status as second class citizens, as we don’t have the same rights as Muslims. This command has probably lead to more depression than any other command in history. If people don’t know anything about Islam, Muslim preachers as well as groups like CARE and ISIS can say pretty much anything they want.
