IN CHARGE:

WAYNE BROWN WELCOME TO PARK DRIVE FOR TONIGHT’S FIXTURE AGAINST BARKING. TONIGHT, I’LL START OFF BY EXTENDING A WARM WELCOME TO JUSTIN, HIS BARKING SIDE AND SUPPORTERS, AS WELL AS TONIGHT’S MATCH OFFICIALS. I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE JOURNEY HOME AFTER THE GAME.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Barking player Charlie MacDonald a speedy recovery and I hope he is back playing again soon. Charlie suffered an injury on Saturday which resulted in Barking’s game against Witham being abandoned. Last Tuesday against Basildon United was a difficult one to swallow. I felt we had plenty of chances to score and potentially win the game. If the penalty goes in, then potentially it is a different game and once again, it is about fine margins – goals change games and we missed too many chances. I don’t think we did a lot wrong, and on another night, I think we would’ve won the game. Full credit to Basildon though, who stuck to their game plan and walked away with all three points. Brentwood on Saturday was a good performance and I’m pleased we got the result that I felt we deserved in the end. We dominated the ball for large portions of the match and, although we needed a late comeback to win the game, I feel that we could have won the game comprehensively on another day. We need to learn from this as a group as we need to be more clinical in front

of goal. We have a young group though, and I am sure we will learn from this. The character the lads showed to find the equaliser and then the winner was very impressive and I felt we deserved all three points. Justin and his Barking side have had a great start to the season in both the league and the cup competitions. Tonight will be a tough test, but we are at home and I am confident we can build on Saturday’s win and look to build some momentum, whilst believing in what we are trying to achieve. Although the results were not kind to us in September, your support hasn’t gone unnoticed and it’s very much appreciated. Please, keep on supporting the lads, keep being our 12th man – we need you! We are at home again on Saturday against Felixstowe in the FA Trophy, and I hope to see you back supporting the lads as we hopefully embark on another cup run in the Trophy. I hope you enjoy tonight’s game. Wayne

TUESDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER | THE PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE NORTH | ATT: 124 Wayne Brown’s side lost for the third consecutive game in the Isthmian League Division One North in their last home outing. In what was a non-event of a first half, both sides registered just one shot on goal each. Basildon were the first team to force a save, as the impressive Ted Collins was on hand in the Jammers’ goal to deny Ben Brookes. Five minutes before the interval, Wayne Brown’s side registered their first shot on target as Sam Cornish tried his luck from distance, forcing Tommy Dixon-Hodge into a fine save for the visitors. Around the hour mark, Maldon were awarded a penalty as Shomari Barnwell was brought down inside the box. The big front-man picked himself up to take the spot-kick, but saw his effort saved by Dixon-Hodge. Brown’s side continue to press forward for the opening goal, with both Charlee Hughes and Bryan Ifeanyi introduced off the bench in a bid to ramp up the pressure before Malachi Napa saw his headed effort sail wide of the post. As the game entered the final quarter of an hour, a long ball forward from the Basildon backline saw Luke Hirst beat the onrushing Collins to the ball, looping a delicate effort into the net for the game’s first goal. Despite trying their utmost to find a way back into the game late on, Harry Taylor and Napa saw their chances go begging and the Jammers were left to rue a third straight defeat.

BLAST

PAST FROM THE

OLLIE BER. QUE35Z APPS: 173 GLS:

When did you play for the Jammers and who was in charge? My first managers were Brad King and Glen Knight who were then replaced by Terry Spillane. Best player you played with whilst with Maldon? That is hard to say because there were some really good established players and also up-and-coming. The front three in the successful spell under Terry was very strong at that level: James Robinson, Chris Bryan and Jamie Guy. What is your best memory whilst playing for the club? It’s hard to say because we never won anything and felt we should have in the season we lost out in the play-off final. Collectively I really enjoyed my time there. I joined in my 30s and wanted to play for a club that could challenge and it was a very well-run and professional club for its level.

08

MALDON & TIPTREE vs BARKING

What is your worst memory whilst playing for the Jammers? Probably the play-off final loss to Thamesmead. I felt we were the better team on the day and should have been out of sight in the first half, but if you don’t take your chances then you can lose games. The other disappointing time was when the team fell apart at the start of the 2014/15 season and Terry left. We had come off the back of a very good season before and should have built on that and moved forward, but it didn’t happen that way. Away from Park Drive, your most enjoyable moment in football? Any of my four career league title wins. There are so many highs and lows across a season, so to finish winning the title is always an amazing feeling and achievement. What team are you playing for now? Or, if you’ve stopped playing, what are you up to these days? Business and family. I finished playing in 2016 and now have a gym and a fitness company which I enjoy running and spending time with my young family.

SATURDAY 2ND OCTOBER | THE PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE NORTH | ATT: 146 Maldon & Tiptree ended a run of three consecutive defeats with a last-minute 3-2 victory over Brentwood Town on Saturday afternoon. Despite the inclement weather, the pitch held up superbly and Maldon were able to produce a free-flowing, passing style of football out of the blocks. The Jammers created the best chances in the opening 20 minutes as, first, Shomari Barnwell sent a volley over the bar before by a bullet header from Charlee Hughes rebounded back off the frame of the goal. Against the run of play, though, Brentwood were gifted the lead in the 20th minute. After clearing the original cross, Ted Collins dropped a second ball into the area, to the delight of Josh Gray who tapped home into an empty net from two yards out. Despite going a goal behind, the visitors didn’t stop believing and created a number of further chances. Bradley McClenaghan, Sam Cornish and Laste Dombaxe all had chances of their own, whilst Malachi Napa bent a free-kick from the edge of the box straight into the defensive wall. Hughes was next to miss his chance, before a Maldon counter-attack that looked destined for goal saw McClenaghan’s effort blocked by the defender. From the resulting corner, the Jammers found their equaliser. Despite the hosts clearing their lines initially, the ball arrived at Lordon Akolbire 25 yards from goal. After an exquisite first touch, Akolbire drilled the ball into the bottom corner of the goal to draw Wayne Brown’s side level on the stroke of half-time.

10

MALDON & TIPTREE vs BARKING

As the rain continued to pour, Maldon started the second half in dominant fashion, with Brentwood looking content with the occasional counter-attacking foray. Dombaxe and Barnwell were once again unable to convert chances that fell their way whilst, at the other end, Collins made an impressive save from close-range to keep the match level. With both sides pushing for the game’s next goal, Collins was on hand once again to deny Andrew Freeman whose effort looked destined for the top corner, before Barnwell had an effort for the Jammers cleared off the line. Brown made a double change as the game entered its final quarter, with Napa and Dombaxe replaced by Scott Kemp and Aaron Williams-Bushell. As Maldon appealed for handball in the penalty area, Brentwood broke forward with a counter-attack. Richardson led the way, putting Daniel Ogunleye through on goal and the Brentwood forward made no mistake, blasting the ball into the roof of the net and restoring the home side’s advantage. This built belief in the hosts and Brentwood looked destined for a third goal, but only a superb sliding tackle from Martyn Stokes broke up an ominouslooking attack. Home skipper Richardson wasted a chance to make it 3-1, but Brown’s men would make the miss prove costly. Efforts from Williams-Bushell and Kemp were both blocked, but the home goalkeeper could only parry the ball to Barnwell who converted from inside the six-yard box to level the game for the second time in the 87th minute and tee up a grandstand finish. The late drama continued into stoppage-time, with Maldon dealing comfortably with a Brentwood free-kick and the resultant clearance landing at the feet of Kemp whose hold-up play allowed his Jammers team-mates to drive forward in attack. His superb pass across the face of goal found Brian Moses, who emphatically buried the ball home to seal three points and an exciting late comeback on the road.

MALDON & TIPTREE vs BARKING

Barking continue their footballing journey in the Isthmian League after their return in 2017 following a gap of 13 seasons. Our renaissance started when Mick O’Shea and Rob O’Brien took Barking into third place in the Essex Senior League in 2014/15 and the winning the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy. This progress was maintained in 2016/17 when Glen Golby and Steve Willis led Barking to win the Essex Senior League championship and promotion back to the Isthmian League. Our present manager Justin Gardner took Barking to tenth place in 2017/18, thus justifying their promotion and their highest finish since 2005/06.

EARLY DAYS

The ancient abbey town and fishing port of Barking has been represented by a football team since at least 1880 and they are the longest established football club in the borough of Barking and Dagenham. Barking’s colours of Royal Blue are said to originate from the Short Blue fishing fleet which plied the oceans from Barking Creek for many years and supplied London with fish.

In 1880 the Barking Rovers club was formed, playing on Eastbury Field, and is known to have existed until at least 1890. The Vicarage Field ground was opened in 1884 with a match against IIford which Rovers won 2-0 but in 1889 Barking Rovers were accused of damaging the Vicarage Field cricket pitch and were forced to return to Eastbury Field. Barking Woodville from Forest Gate became known as Barking Woodville and moved to the Vicarage Field in 1896 and appear to have disbanded in 1900 when the Vicarage Field lease expired. The Vicarage Field was then occupied by Barking Institute, formed in at least 1896 as Barking Working Lads’ Institute, as the local Church Institute were involved in running it with the name being changed to Barking Institute. Barking Institute’s name changed to Barking in 1902. The name was changed again to Barking Town from 1919 to 1932, reverting to Barking until 2001 when changed again to Barking and East Ham United for five seasons.

The club progressed to the South Essex League from 1900/01 and the London League from 1909/10, playing in both for several seasons (leagues were smaller in those days). In 1912 their application to join the Isthmian League was rejected but they had been founder members of the Athenian League in 1911, resigning after only two matches, having been fined for not fielding the strongest possible team, and not rejoining until 1923. During the Second World War matches in the South Essex Combination were played at the Merry Fiddlers Ground, Dagenham as the Vicarage Field was converted to an anti-aircraft site and all matches in 1945/46 were played away.

ISTHMIAN LEAGUE YEARS

Barking were invited to join the Isthmian League in 1952 and in 1978/79 under Eddie McCluskey won the championship and were named FA Non-League team of the year. Floodlights were installed at the Vicarage Field in 1958 and Barking was the first club to play an Isthmian League match under its own lights. In 1973 Barking were required to leave the Vicarage Field by the council and were leased the present ground. In June 1990 the Isthmian league’s ground grading committee deemed that Mayesbrook Park was unfit for Premier division football and at the league’s AGM there was a vote whether or not to relegate Barking which was won by eight votes. However, this was a temporary reprieve as in the next season after 39 years at Premier Division level, the club suffered the first relegation in its history and in 1996 relegated to Division 2. Promotion back to Division 1 was won in 2000/01. Following restructuring Barking played in the Southern League Division 1 East in 2004/05 and 2005/06, reaching

the play-offs in both seasons. In 2007, following the tragic death of chairman Peter Webster in late 2004 and the subsequent liquidation of the parent company, the club was demoted to the Essex Senior League in 2006.

Harold Halse, Len Casey, Peter Carey, Mark Lazarus, Laurie Abrahams. George Shalders, Joe Hawkins and Jack Tresarden (West Ham United and capped in 1923)who played for “The Hammers” in the first Wembley cup final in 1923.

CUP SUCCESS

OUR BOBBY

Barking’s lost 3-1 to Leyton at Millwall FC in the 1926/27 FA Amateur Cup final, and a total of ten appearances in the last eight of the Amateur Cup was made, from which they progressed to one final and three semi-finals. We have played in the FA Cup since 1895/96, but Oxford United are the only professional club’s first team who has been defeated in a 1979 FA Cup tie,in two ties against Gillingham separated by 55 years the professionals required two matches on each occasion to progress. Barking have reached the second round proper a total of four times. In the FA Vase in 1996/97 the Blues reached the fifth round (last 16) and were narrowly defeated by a single goal at Mossley. The Essex Senior Cup final has been reached 14 times, of which seven were won, and the London Senior Cup has been won four times in seven finals. A memorable success came in 1996/97 when the Essex Thameside Trophy against Canvey Island was won with the 22nd taken from the penalty spot. Barking triumphed by 8 to 7 and the final kick was successfully converted by Uzodimma Agbasonu.

THE PROFESSIONAL GAME

Over 40 Barking players have gone on to the professional ranks and the most recently famous old boys are in no particular order: Kevin Hitchcock, Darren Purse, Lamar Reynolds, Jack Leslie (probably Barking’s first black player), James Dillimore (Millwall),

Our most famous ex player is of course Bobby Moore, the West Ham United and World Cup winning England captain. He never played for Barking’s first team but research supported by the memories of the club’s late president, Ron Debenham, has indicated that he played for their A (third/youth) team before being signed by West ham at a young age. The programme for a charity match in 1969 played at the Vicarage Field states Bobby “decided to play on the pitch where he had previously appeared as a member of Barking’s ‘A’ team”. This was corroborated in 2015 by former Barking player Alan Batten, who played alongside Bobby in their A team in 1954/55 which was subsequently wound up and Bobby moved on to West Ham United. Bobby’s parents had been active members of Barking FC Supporters’ Club and organised the transport, comprising fleets of coaches and even a special train in those days, to away matches.

FOR THE RECORD

Among the club records is an unbeaten run of 17 games in 1968/69 which was almost matched by a run of 15 matches in 1996/97. In the light of modern complaints about fixture congestion it is of interest to note that Barking played 14 games in April 1927, losing only four of them. The club record run of unbeaten league games is 23 set by the reserves in 2011/12 which comprised the whole league season and one game from the next.

MALDON & TIPTREE

CLUB HISTORY

In 2009, Ed Garty took over the ownership of Maldon Town from Michael Kirkham, whilst still in charge of running Tiptree United and installed Alan Brockhouse as Maldon Town’s new chairman. Following the takeover, Colin Wallington returned for a second spell in charge of Maldon Town, leaving his post as Tiptree United manager immediately. Colin previously managed Maldon Town from 2003 until 2007, having achieved promotion in the 200506 via the play-off final. Having left Maldon in 2007, Colin went on to manage Tiptree United where he achieved promotion winning the

16

MALDON & TIPTREE vs BARKING

Eastern Counties Division One title in the 2007/08 season. Until the conclusion of the 2009/10 season both Maldon Town & Tiptree United played their home games at Park Drive, under a ground share arrangement. In the summer of 2010, Maldon Town & Tiptree United amalgamated to form, Maldon & Tiptree Football Club, under the ownership of Ed Garty. As a result of the amalgamation, Tiptree United withdrew from the Essex Senior League, resulting in the club’s last ever fixture being a 3-1 defeat against Enfield 1893 on 24 April 2010. Maldon & Tiptree took

the place of Maldon Town in the Isthmian Division One North. Following the retirement of Colin Wallington, Assistant Manager, Brad King and Glen Knight were appointed as the clubs JointManager. As the pair’s first managerial role, the new club witnessed wholesale changes with only a handful of players remaining who finished the season with Maldon Town and Tiptree United, respectively. The 2010-11 campaign saw the new club remain in or around the play-off positions for the majority of the season, finishing in eighth

place to finish the season with sixty-three points. Despite the high turnover of players, the good standard of football was maintained and it was in the end, a disappointing end to the season, for the club to fall away in the later stages of the season when suspensions and injuries eventually took their toll to leave the club frustratingly short of the play-off positions at the end of April. The 2011-12 season, proved to not be so successful and in November 2011, King and Knight were relieved of their duties with immediate effect. Ex-Charlton professional Mike Flanagan was appointed as Caretaker Manager and remained in place until the end of the season, steering the club to a respectful mid-table finish, managing thirty-three games and finishing with a win percentage of 49.12%. At the start of the 2012-13 campaign, Ex-Stansted & Redbridge boss Terry Spillane was appointed as Manager, and Mike Flanagan departed the club. The change of management, once again brought wholesale changes with the playing squad. Ex Tiptree United manager, Jody was brought to the club as Terry’s Assistant Manager. After a fantastic and unbeaten start to the season, the club found themselves at the top of the table but an incredible run by eventual Champions Grays Athletic meant Maldon had to settle for a place in the play-offs – Terry’s side remained unbeaten until Boxing Day, when they lost away from home against local rivals Heybridge Swifts. Disappointment came in the play-off final however when they lost a two goal lead to draw with Thamesmead Town, who thenwent on to win the final,on penalties.

After a disappointing end to the previous season, Terry Spillane oversaw more wholesale changes in the playing squad, including the departure of Assistant Manager, Jody Brown. Despite the changes, Maldon finished in ninth position with seventy-six points, winning twenty-one games. More changes to the playing staff, resulted in poor start to the 2014-15 season, and the club parted ways with Spillane in September 2014, with Chairman, Ed Garty takeover as Caretaker Manager, for three games. At the end of September 2014, Alan Kimble was appointed as manager and remained in charge for the remainder of the season, however the side struggled and more changes in the playing staff occurred. Maldon finished the season in nineteenth place with only forty-nine points. During the 2014-15 season, Media Officer at the time, Richard Buckby ran a competition for supporters to vote for a club nickname, with the options The River Boys, The Marshmen, The Mudmen and The Jammers available. The vote took place in January 2015 and was featured on National Radio station, TalkSport, with the The Jammers winning the vote with over 50% and being confirmed as the clubs new nickname. Following the completion of the 2014-15 season, the club linked with Colchester United and the two clubs formed close ties, which resulted in ex Ipswich Town midfielder, David Wright being appointed as First Team Manager. Wright remained in charge until December 2015 as he was appointed Assistant Manager of Colchester United. Liam Bailey took charge of the First Team on

a temporary basis, only managing one game, which finished four-all against Tilbury on Boxing Day in 2015. Moving into 2016, exLeiston Manager, Steve Ball was appointed First Team Manager and steered the club to a respectable finish in the league table climbing to seventh place, only missing out on the play-off places by nine points. In the closed season, a change of Management at Colchester United saw Steve Ball appointed as their Assistant Manager, leaving his position of Maldon & Tiptree Manager as a result. Ex-Manchester City midfielder, Kevin Horlock was then appointed as First Team manager ahead of the 2016-17 campaign and for the majority of the season, the Jammers sat at the top of the table before slipping away to finish in second place. Horlock’s side managed to reach the play-off final, however lost to Thurrock one-nil. The following campaign was not quite as successful for Horlock, with Maldon finishing just outside the play-off places in seventh place, with sixty-nine points. After managing 112 games, Kevin Horlock departed in the closed season and was replaced by ex-Colchester defender, Wayne Brown. In Brown’s first season in charge, the 2018-19 season, the Jammers finished in second place and reached the play-off final, but lost on penalties against local rivals, Heybridge Swifts. The 2019-20 season was one to remember for the club, but for the right and wrong reasons. The club achieved great things in the Emirates FA Cup. Having reached the First Round proper of the competition, Maldon beat League Two side, Leyton Orient away from home, taking over 600

fans to the home of The O’s, with the goals coming from Danny Parish and a superb solo goal from Jorome Slew. In the second round proper, Maldon were drawn against Football League side, Newport County with the game being shown live on National Television– with the Jammers only beaten by the League Two side, with a goal in stoppage time, with the game finishing 1-0. A record attendance of 1876 was recorded. However, the 2019-20 season will also be remembered for the wrong reasons. After impressive performances on the field, the Jammers found themselves top of the Isthmian Division One North, thirteen points clear with four games in hand, when disaster struck. With a global pandemic declared, as a result of Coronavirus, the league competition was formally abandoned on 26 March 2020, with all results from the season being expunged, and no promotion or relegation taking place to, from, or within the division. The club were denied a chance of promotion and forced to remain in the Division One North for the 2020-21 season.

ED GARTY STEPPED DOWN AS CHAIRMAN IN OCTOBER 2020 Following the disappointing end to the 2019-20 season, Wayne Brown remained in charge of the club and wholesale changes in the playing squad occurred again, with a number of the previous season’s squad securing transfers to clubs higher up the football pyramid. The Jammers were dealt a big blow in October 2020 when owner and Chairman Ed Garty stood down from his position with immediate effect, ending a challenging ten years at the helm. After a period of uncertainty for

the football club, General Manager Ron Dangerfield was confirmed as the new Chairman, with Richard Cowling taking ownership of the football club. Just like the 2019-20 season, the 2020-21 campaign was terminated with promotion and relegation denied for all the sides competing in the Division One North. However, prior to the curtailment the Jammers had reached the Emirates FA Cup First Round for the second successive season, this time losing to Morecambe 1-0 in front of the television cameras. Brown’s side also achieved their longest ever run in the Buildbase FA Trophy, eventually losing to Gloucester City. The Jammers were only able to play in five league games, finishing in third place before the season was curtailed. Heading in to the 2021/22 season, Wayne Brown remains in charge of the first team and is now the club’s longest-serving manager, holding the record for the most games managed in charge of Maldon & Tiptree Football Club.

MARTYN STOKES

JOE TURPIN

An experienced shot-stopper is now in his fourth season at Park Drive, Ben has more or less been an ever-present since Wayne took charge of the first team. Australian-born, Ben has previously had spells with Dagenham & Redbridge, Braintree Town and Northampton Town to name just a few. McNamara’s leadership skills have been crucial to the side over the last three seasons.

Stokes is a central defender with a winning pedigree. Having arrived at Park Drive from Bowers & Pitsea in the 2019/20 season, Martyn is the club’s first team captain and will continue to bring an important level of experience to the side, having previously won promotion from the Isthmian League Division One North with both Brentwood and Bowers, respectively.

A dominant central defender who joined from league rivals Tilbury last season before the campaign was brought to a close due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since joining, Turps instantly became a leader among the Jammers defence and will be looking to build on his positive start to life at Park Drive.

KOJO AWOTWI

MAKHOSINI KHANYE

HARRY TAYLOR

An attacking and versatile full-back who rejoined the club in October 2020 from Welling United for his second spell at Park Drive. During the previous two seasons, Kojo was an influential figure within Wayne’s squad as the club reached the play-off final in the 2018/19 season, as well as the top of the league and the Emirates FA Cup second round last term.

Khanye, known as ‘Macca’, joined the club from Faversham Town in the summer of 2020. The defender started out at Brentford before spending time on the books of Bristol City, Erith & Belvedere, Greenwich Borough, Staines Town and Whitehawk. Macca now moves into his second season to the club, hoping to avoid the injuries that hampered his appearances last year.

Taylor is a young, but commanding, central defender who has previously been with Aldershot Town and Charlton Athletic where he was released in the summer of 2021. Supporters will recognise Harry as he has featured for the Jammers throughout pre-season.

BRADLEY McCLENAGHAN

AARON WILLIAMS-BUSHELL

LASTE DOMBAXE

Bradley is a former Leyton Orient central midfielder who was named as Orient’s 2018/19 Youth Player of the Year before joining the Jammers in the summer of 2020. He played a pivotal role in the club’s run to the Emirates FA Cup first round before losing to Morecambe. One of the team’s leaders who was an ever-present last season, he will be keen to continue his good form in 2021/22.

Williams-Bushell heads into his second season at Park Drive after impressing in the last campaign, scoring several Goal of the Season contenders. Aaron has shown his versatility whilst being at the club and will look to cement his place in Wayne’s starting eleven this term.

A fans’ favourite, tough-tackling, controlling midfielder, Laste returns for the 2021/22 season after having a short break away at Haringey Borough. In his first spell in the club, Dombaxe appeared over 50 times and was instrumental in the Jammers leading the way in the Isthmian Division One North and reaching the Emirates FA Cup second round.

SHOMARI BARNWELL

SCOTT KEMP

CHARLEE HUGHES

An experienced centre-forward who joined the club in July 2020 having previously played for the likes of Bowers & Pitsea, Grays Athletic and Great Wakering Rovers. Shomari is a fast and athletic forward who was the Jammers’ joint-leading goalscorer in last season’s short campaign.

Scott heads into his second season at Park Drive after joining from local neighbours Witham Town in 2020. He made the move having scored 14 goals in 2019/20 as Town’s captain. Comfortable across a number of forward positions, Kemp will be looking to improve upon his goals and assists tally in 2021/22.

A name all supporters will know and remember well, Charlee rejoins the Jammers after a season away from Park Drive at Wealdstone. Hughes featured heavily in the 2019/20 season when Brown’s side reached the FA Cup second round. During his first spell with the club, Charlee recorded 30 goals and is only 11 behind the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

JOHN GILBERT

MALIQ JIKIEMI

JAYDEN BEALES

Gilbert, an energic midfielder, joins the Jammers following previous spells with Met Police, Aylesbury United and Whyteleafe. John has previously been on trial with a number of professional academies and arrives at Park Drive looking to force his way back into the professional game.

Maliq arrived Park Drive in August 2021, having recently been with Crawley Town. Amongst his previous clubs, Jikiemi includes Walton Casuals, Aldershot Town and Sutton United. The attacking wide-man has featured heavily throughout pre-season for the Jammers.

Jayden arrives at the club having previously had spells with Concord Rangers and Grays Athletic. Some supporters may recognise him following a stint on the hit ITV show, The Only Way Is Essex. With a loud voice in the dressing room, Jayden’s leadership qualities will be key for the Jammers this season.

BRYAN IFEANYI

TYRELL LOWE

MALACHI NAPA

A young and exciting forward who arrived in August 2021 on loan from Colchester United. Bryan is set for a bright future and will look to adapt quickly to his first taste of men’s first team football. Previously, Ifeanyi was with Leyton Orient’s academy.

Lowe is an attack-minded player who has previous experience with Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. Lowe has featured for the Jammers throughout preseason and will be keen to make a quick impression on the club’s supporters.

Malachi is an exciting and tricky forward who has previously been with Oxford United and Woking, whilst also spending time on loan at North Leigh, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Macclesfield Town. Napa made his professional debut for Oxford in 2017 in the EFL Trophy. In his youth career, Napa also spent at Reading.
