Pit Wall Pitfall

While it’s sad to see this tradition disappear, you can’t argue with the rulebook. And if any team were to disregard the rules and jump up on the pit wall fence, they would be subject to a penalty in one form or another. As for what the penalty would amount to remains to be seen. Even if the penalty isn’t considered, it’s obviously not terribly safe to climb onto a tall fence and risk falling onto a track where cars are traveling at high rates of speed. That being said, we will all miss the images and clips of the teams celebrating their victory as their driver passes the checkered flag.
