WELCO M E! Welcome to the 25th Annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival! The Durango Arts Center (DAC) is proud to have presented this special event for 25 years, showcasing the diverse talents of artists and craftspeople who hail from our local region and from across the country. Selected through a competitive juried process, this year DAC is thrilled to have nearly 100 booths offering our festival patrons and community so much to enjoy. I would like to personally invite you to attend an evening of music and a live auction in the DAC Theatre the weekend prior to the festival opening on Sept. 14. Tickets are $35 and all ticket proceeds benefit the festival. This will help us continue to grow the scope of the festival in the future. The festival would not be complete without lively entertainment all weekend. This year we invite you inside the Durango Arts Center to enjoy the lineup of amazing musicians on our theater stage. Come inside to cool off, have a beverage and bring your food inside to sit and relax. Once you're ready to head back out to the art, remember to stop by the Creation Station across the street. Sock puppets, face painting and fun art for all ages! There is plenty to keep you busy downtown all weekend! As DAC's largest event fundraiser, the Durango Autumn Arts Festival would not be possible without the continued and incredible support of the many local business sponsors and in-kind donors who help make this event a high quality special experience for artists, volunteers, and guests alike. DAC is especially grateful to our renewed premier sponsor, First Southwest Bank, whose spectacular building anchors the festival at College Drive. Lastly, we are so appreciative to our volunteers who dedicate enthusiasm, skill and time to ensuring smooth festival operations, without whom this event would not be possible!
Dear Durango Friends and Autumn Arts Festival Guests, For the sixth year in a row, First Southwest Bank is proud to be the presenting sponsor for the 2019 Durango Autumn Arts Festival. We are thrilled to be supporting this neighborhood event again, as building the vibrancy of our community is a cause we support, and the Autumn Arts Festival is just one way we pursue this mission. Banking isn’t always exciting. But it’s something we feel can create a positive effect. In Durango, we believe our impact can be large. As a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) – a certification from the United States Treasury for banks that provide access to unique financial projects and funding sources to help grow our communities - we are focused on cultivating valuable relationships, investing in economic and social doers, and fostering a well-lived rural culture. If you like our thoughts and ideas, bank with us, or just share your ideas on the community impact you want to see, with us. We’re in it for the long haul. Why? ‘Cause there’s no better place to live, work and play, than rural Colorado Thank you and enjoy the festival! Kent Curtis Chief Executive Officer First Southwest Bank
It is DAC's honor to celebrate another year of fine arts and crafts with out community and with those visiting the area. Thank you for joining us, and enjoy the festival! Brenda Macon Executive Director, DAC

J U RO RS Bryce Petit
Bryce grew up surrounded by nature. His deep love for the world around him and his desire to create art have always been closely linked. When he entered college, he studied biology and the natural sciences followed by graduate studies in ecology. Eventually his passion for art became undeniable and he focused full time on an art career. Following his innate curiosity, Bryce learned the science and industrial mechanics of bronze casting and metallurgy. These early years of intensive learning gave him the skills to unleash his creativity. Bryce has now been a professional sculptor for nearly 20 and featured in a variety of galleries and exhibitions. He currently lives in Durango, Colorado surrounded by the mountains and rivers he loves.
Ilze Aviks
Ilze Aviks has maintained a studio in Durango, Colorado for over 40 years. During the last 25 years she has taught Studio and Art Theory courses at Fort Lewis College and has been a Visiting Artist at many universities including Eastern Illinois University, North Carolina State University, Kansas University, and the Kansas City Art Institute. She has conducted workshops in the U. S., Canada, and Australia.
