HERITAGE Duresta has made luxurious upholstery in Nottinghamshire since 1938. We are extremely proud of our long-standing relationship of over 25 years with the National Trust, which allows our design teams to study, reproduce and be inspired by unique pieces of furniture held in the National Trust collections.

Our
CRAFTSMANSHIP Our furniture is created from hardwood frames that are hand-assembled by our highly experienced craftspeople. Our fabric experts hand-cut every single piece, and many of our ‘finishing touches’ are hand-sewn. Of course, it is what you don’t see that really counts, we only use the finest quality fillings and materials available that will provide long-lasting comfort. When it comes to choosing the level of support required, there is an extensive range of options. Our experts will help you make your choices … from tight-covered sprung backs with serpentine springs to coil-sprung seats, feather and down filled cushions or a combination of foam and feather-wrapped seats. Our furniture is built with pride and passion and designed for many years of enjoyment.

QUALITY Every piece of furniture we produce is designed to take pride of place in any home. The hardwood frames are dowelled, glued and screwed. Each frame is guaranteed for 25 years to provide a stable and robust foundation upon which we create our designs. We only choose and commission fabric designs from the most prestigious and innovative mills and all are exclusive to Duresta. Our pattern-matching skills are unrivalled, and our team takes an enormous pride in being able to sew precision seams when matching complex and large-scale patterns across separate upholstery components. We choose and use the best, and have partnerships with companies and individuals who understand our brand and our aim to create and maintain an outstanding level of quality, creativity and craftsmanship.

Our experts work closely together to produce handmade furniture with passion, skill and enthusiasm. We’re committed to preserving our legacy and offer a highly regarded apprenticeship scheme. This allows us to proudly pass down our wealth of experience and skill to the next generation of Duresta craftspeople. We look forward to seeing our apprentices’ skills growing and developing within our local community, and will follow their progress with pride. Many Duresta team members have produced perfectly hand-crafted pieces for well over 25 years, and are enthusiastic and committed advisors to our younger employees.
