Ford Expedition
from Durrah 59
Built to emphasize power, capability, convenience, and comfort, the new Ford Expedition was designed for adventuring everywhere – city or desert – for all the family, with three rows that can seat up to eight, including the driver. What better way for us to see its true capabilities than to take it for a spin in Dubai?
Putting the pedal to the metal on the emirate’s desert, the Expedition was a beast to behold. It packs a 3.5L EcoBoost® Twin-Turbo V6 engine, which includes a new High-Output version taken straight out of the class-leading F-150 Raptor that delivers 440hp and 691Nm of torque, more than anyone else in the class. A 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift® capability helps maximize power while maintaining Expedition’s position with best-in-class fuel economy. The Terrain Management System™ available on 4x4s allows you to choose from up to 7 selectable Drive Modes – with a simple turn of a dial – to help optimize driving dynamics to road conditions for powerful performance across any terrain.
Outside of the desert, the Expedition was also a great ft on city roads as well. Its spacious interior is designed to comfortably accommodate up to eight passengers, with plenty of room for luggage and gear. A standard 12” touchscreen and the available largest-in-class 15.5” HD SYNC 4 touchscreen make it easy to play your music, navigate apps, and wirelessly interact with your Apple or Android smartphone through voice or touch prompts. Alongside the biggest screen on a large SUV, the Expedition also boasts an available 12.4” fully digital, customizable LCD instrument panel – again, the largest in its class.
The new Expedition takes all the stress out of driving with an extensive collection of Ford CoPilot360™ driver-assist technologies. With more driver-assist features and safety technology than any competitor, Expedition is the safest large SUV in the Middle East. These features utilize a network of sensors and sophisticated cameras to offer drivers support such as Pre-Collision Assist with Emergency Braking, Intersection Assist, Evasive Steering Assist and even Adaptive Cruise Control, which can bring the vehicle to a stop and then continue on if you encounter traffc on your work commute.
With re-designed front and rear facias, the new Expedition not only performs better than ever but looks even better doing so. The new Expedition also comes with LED headlamps, an 8” Digital instrument cluster and a Center Console Refrigerator as standard. The Expedition provides immersive audio for up to eight people through the available 1,080watt best-in-class B&O® Unleashed 22-speaker sound system transforming every song into a concert.
The all-new Ford Expedition Timberline trim was designed to suit the needs of those looking to conquer the roughest off-road environments. Packed full of class-leading, segment-frst features and technology, the Timberline dares anyone to challenge it as the most off-road capable large SUV. The High-Output 3.5L V6 engine borrowed from its F-150 Raptor cousin delivers a best-in-class 440hp and 691 Nm of torque, while segment-frst Trail Turn Assist – frst developed on the Ford Bronco – lets the Timberline execute tight pivots on low-friction surfaces, including sand dunes.
The Timberline’s exterior features a dark carbonized gray grille and tailgate appliqué, black Ford Oval badges with Ember Red tow hooks and exterior accents, Timberline badges, and black roof-rack side rails to lend the SUV an air of streamlined toughness and let everyone know this is something special.
Inside, the Timberline’s spacious cabin offers a unique Deep Cyprus color, complemented by Tangerine stitching and accents to match the exterior, with ActiveX™ seats or optional leather. Offering spacious and comfortable accommodations, as well as impressive performance capabilities, the Ford Expedition is a popular choice for families and adventurers alike. ford.com
