Gorilla joy at Jersey Zoo

In the early hours of Friday 15th November, 25-year old western lowland gorilla Bahasha gave birth. The keepers are delighted with the news and have been keeping a close watch over the first-time mum and the newest addition to the troop. Both are doing very well and silverback Badongo has been keeping a protective eye over Bahasha and their baby. There certainly couldn’t have been a more perfect way to conclude our 60th anniversary year.
