About Serbia Officially known as the Republic of Serbia, the country is located in the central and southeastern part of Europe. It covers the central part of the Balkans and the southern part of the Pannonian Plain, which make the must see Serbia places exceptionally diverse as far as natural wonders are concerned. Situated amidst Bulgaria and Romania to its east, Hungary to its north, Montenegro, Herzegovina, Bosnia and Croatia to its west and Albania and the Republic of Macedonia to its south, the country welcomes you to a world with wonderful panoramic scenery, cultural and historical monuments, fishing areas, hunting grounds and curative spas. ‘Wondrous’ is the word that best describes Serbia. If you are tired of exploring the typical flora and fauna of the forests, the tranquil countrysides then the must see places in Serbia are spots you should consider visiting. The traditional touch of the cities added to the lustful party nights make Serbia an amazing mixture of modernism and ethnicity. To discover the quintessential Serbian aura, visit the capital city Belgrade to figure out the profound beauty of the architectures in this city. People in Serbia are warm, full of kindness, hospitality especially towards foreigners. Serbia is a land known for warmhearted people, where hospitality is the dearest obligation of every host.

WE NEVER SLEEP! In Serbia, every night is Friday night. There is no single day of the week in Serbia when you can’t have a night out and that holds true for all generations, for all lifestyles and musical tastes and for all available budgets. Everyone is ready to party at all the time, dance the night away, and go straight to work the next day. It’s really hard to resist the temptation when you know that on any given evening there are countless clubs out there full of young, gorgeous people having so much fun.

About Belgrade One of the oldest cities in Europe and the only one built on the confluence of two rivers, Belgrade is the city that never sleeps and the symbol of great nightlife. The capital of Serbia, Belgrade, is known as “the city that never sleeps”. Floating clubs on its rivers have become synonyms for great parties and neverending fun, and Skadarlija, the bohemian street, for a place where music and singing can be heard until dawn. And yet, Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe. This “white city” is the only capital built at the confluence of two big rivers – the Danube and the Sava. Belgrade is a modern european city with population of about 1.7 milion people. It is an administrative, political and cultural center of the country. The sessions of Serbian parliament and government are being held in Belgrade, and the office of the President is also in it. The buildings that host these institutions are themselves monuments of great cultural importance and therefore a part of every visitor’s itinerary.

Belgrade sky “The sky above Belgrade is wide and high, unstable but always beautiful; even during winter serenities with their icy splendour; even during summer storms when the whole of it turns into a single gloomy cloud which, driven by the mad wind, carries the rain mixed with the dust of panonian plain; even in spring when it seems that it also blooms, along with the ground; even in autumn when it grows heavy with the autumn stars in swarms. Always beautiful and rich, as a compensation to this strange town for everything that isn’t there, and a consolation because of everything that shouldn’t be there. But the greatest splendour of that sky above Belgrade, that are the sunsets. In autumn and in summer, they are broad and bright like desert mirages, and in winter they are smothered by murky clouds and dark red hazes. And in every time of year frequently come the days when the flame of that sun setting in the plain, between the rivers beneath Belgrade, gets reflected way up in the high celestial dome, and it breaks there and pours down over the scattered town. Then, for a moment, the reddish tint of the sun paints even the remotest corners of Belgrade and reflects into the windows, even of those houses it otherwise poorly illuminates.” Ivo Andrić, Serbian Nobel prize laureate

About TNT A TNT is focused for IFMSA members with the interest of knowing the “how” of a process. Most people with an idea of a project for example know what they want to do and; they might even know why exactly they want to do it. Through non-formal education, the idea is reach the tools of how to do it. In the case of Trainers, at the end of a TNT not only should they have a vast knowledge on that “how”, but, most importantly, they should know how to retransmit that knowledge to participants in a training session. Besides pure non-formal education material, the aim is also to help the participant develop themselves true “soft skill” and understand the Training philosophy.

7

About TMET As medical students are directly exposed to meducal curricula, they should rughtfully be assumed to be experts on their educational system, and should therefore have a influence on the creation of new curricula. Before we as medical students can lobby for the highest standards and changes in our education, we should be aware of many topics like curriculum design, assesment, research, learning methods and how to be a part of medical education system, we should know what to change and how to make the change. TMET will introduce students to the most important medical educatio topic and stimulate their engagement in educational processes, but also aim towards creating new Trainers in Medical Education to ensure further growth of our cocalization in upcoming years.
