“The ongoing riots, both in Hermanus and along the N2 towards Cape Town did have a negative impact on sales, as the expected spike in sales just before the opening did not happen this year. Unfortunately, the R43 and the N2 were blocked at times and that might have deterred potential festivalgoers. But despite this we have had overwhelmingly positive feedback on the quality and content of this year’s festival,” Mary Faure says.
