What is your go-to Music?

I have a very diverse playlist. While traveling with the team, I allow the boys to run the aux cord in the van. Although I prefer all types of rock (classic, 80s, 90s), I have all kinds of stuff on my phone, some of which my wife does not like at all....

What is your go-to type of Movie?

I am a movie junkie, so there are too many "favorites" to name! I enjoy all types and titles. Tell us something people would be surprised to know about you.

I was a maniacal Steelers fan at one time. Although I still have season tickets, I don't go much anymore due to my coaching schedule. I never painted my face but acted like I did for a long time!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Export, PA, and graduated from Franklin Regional High School. Tell us about your family.

I am married and have two stepdaughters. Vicky and I have been married for 22 years. My stepdaughters live out of state, are married, and have children. Emily lives in Danville, OH, with her husband, Kyle, and our granddaughters, Ava (9) and Cecilia (4). Olivia lives in Santa Clarita, CA, with her husband John and our granddaughter Ella (16 months).

What initially drew you to the game of Golf, and how did you get started?

My dad introduced me to the game at a young age. I would play around in the yard occasionally, but I started to play regularly later in grade school with my dad, brothers, uncles, and cousins.

Please give us some insight into your prior positions. I was the PGA Professional at Indiana Country Club for 27 years, after serving 2 seasons as the lead assistant professional. The members at ICC were, and still are, like family to me. I was promoted when I was 24 years old and was very thankful for the opportunity bestowed upon me at such a young age. During my tenure, we had some great management teams, professional staff members, and Board members, which allowed us to accomplish a lot through the years.

What is the best round of Golf you have shot?

My best round in competition was 63 at the Pittsburgh Field Club in the last round of the Frank B. Fuhrer Jr. Invitational in 2005.

What made you decide to pursue a career in the PGA of America, and how long have you been a PGA member?

As I grew up, I fell in love with the game of golf. It's a common story with most PGA Professionals. I worked at Meadowink Golf Course in Murrysville throughout high school and summers during my college years, which introduced me to the industry. I felt that entering the golf business and becoming a PGA member was the perfect marriage between the things in life that interested me the most: the game golf, promoting the game to others, and building relationships with those people. I earned membership in the PGA of America in 1993.

Talk about being a PGA of America member, what it means, and having PGA after your name. I am very proud to be identified as a member of the PGA of America, as this sets us apart as experts in our industry. I think the most meaningful aspect of membership in the PGA is also the most basic. It is a powerful tool to grow the game, attract new golfers, and help them build a love for the game.
