Welcome to the 17th Annual Foundation Female Sale & the 5th Annual Rare Semen & Embryo Auction, as I am writing this I really cannot believe that we have been fortunate enough to host this sale for this amount of time. We started this sale to help market our own cattle as well as the cattle of our customers and friends, and over the years this sale has grown into one of the largest consignment sales in the country. We take our role in this sale very seriously and see our job as being to locate the best cattle and genetics we can find and bring them to Roseville for you to evaluate, in one location saving you time and money not having to run from place to place. The cattle and genetics represented in this sale come to you from over 50 different consignors from all across the nation. As the years have passed the technology has increased and with it the quality of cattle have increased dramatically. As with most technology the first adaptors are the ones who make the most, and then everyone else is simply catching up. This sale features heavy usage of the newest advances with many of the embryo lots being produced with IVF sexed semen, as well as heifer sexed pregnancies, which remove the guesswork from your purchases. Many of the lots in this sale are AI bred to heifer sexed semen, which will help to boast your bottom line. Not to mention the fact that many of the lots in the sale were produced through those same technologies which helps to advance the quality and consistency of the cattle being produced and offered to you. Over the years we have many people call and ask which animals should I purchase to get in the driver’s seat for the latest trends, and our answer is always the same. Buy the cattle that you like, and the ones that will help advance your herd in the direction you wish to go. The bottom line in the cattle industry is that when you own cattle you have to look at them everyday, so buy the ones you like and not the ones that some suit in an office thinks is going to be the next big thing. If you have been in the show industry long enough you know that the type and kind requested by Association offices changes with the seasons from big frame, to calving ease, to terminal indexes, to API. If a person just concentrates on sound functional cattle that have look, then you can last through all of those swings in the trend. Keep in mind that good cattle never go out of style, regardless of the era they are born into. This years sale features a diverse set of Foundation Females from multiple breeds from Lot 73 Grandview Lady 8515, a young Registered Angus cow who has just got started in the donor pen, to Lot 50 LLSF Eye Candy as well as Lot 51 K-Ler Halley’s Sweet Rain these three young Purebred females are just at the start of there dollar earning potential. We also have to offer 25 complete cow families that offer you the chance to view not only the cow but also her progeny, which removes all questions on what these females are capable of. Another feature is a group of over 50 bred heifers who are all functional, easy keeping females, who are most importantly sound on their feet and legs. Then there is a stellar set of open heifers, steers, & 4 herd bull prospects who are sure to impress. Regardless of your goals in the cattle industry or the direction of your herd we really feel that we have something to offer to everyone. Over the years it has been our pleasure to serve our customers and consignors, and we cherish all of the relationships that have developed over the years. As you look through this year’s sale offering if you have any questions feel free to give our consignors, our consultants, or us a call. We look forward to seeing you Labor Day Weekend. Sincerely, Dwyer Cattle Services, Bob 309-337-1404, Nick 309-337-6404, Email sales@dwyercattle.com

The purebred Simmental industry needs females like Lilly who carry that added substance, and a pretty style filled package. This young female stands on a huge foot, has plenty of extension through her front, possesses a world of rib shape with a level chest floor. We purchased this female from Griswold Cattle due to her limitless mating potential. Regardless of your herds needs this cow has the power to match with any sire on the market today regardless of breed. We really feel that this female has the potential to be one of the matriachs of the breed and that her offspring regardless of sex have the ability to advance the breed in the right direction. Producing offspring who are sound, easy fleshing, eye-catching, and I’ll say it again sound. Offering the right to flush this female with a guarantee of 8 transferrable embryos, with a cap of 10 embryos. Consigned by, Jones Show Cattle & Garwood Cattle Co. in Ohio

Two fall bred heifers by BMR Explorer sell in this year’s sale as Lots 170 & 170A. This year we choose to go a little different route with Valentine and mated her to the two hotest Steel Force sons on the market today. For this year’s offering on Valentine you will have your choice between a Sexed heifer pregnancy by Mr. HOC Broker, the Triple Crown Winning son of Steel Force. Or Sexed heifer embryos and/or a pregnancy by FBFS Wheel Man the red hot Steel Force son raised by Foster Brothers in Texas. Offering 1 package of 3 IVF embryos. Guarantee one pregnancy if work is done by licensed embryologist. H25 may need some introduction, but if you would introduce her as the dam of the recent Triple Crown winning Broker it brings a lot of unnecessary details to a halt. She is the dam of Broker that has worked to a multitude of different sires, she would also be the maternal granddam of the $94K evaluated Miley Cottontail and countless other successes would trace back to her lineage. When we progressed to IVF with this female we were insistent on making females and finding a bull that was built like Steel Force and an outcross to Dream On was a bit of a challenge. There is no doubt in our mind that the fresh new sire group by the Grass Lunning sire, New Direction is the right match. The New Directions have consistently been wide based, stout cattle with plenty of rib shape, and a fault free look. We strongly believe in this mating and do not plan on making anymore. Outcross genetics from a proven donor dam equals significant value with no guess work. Consigned by, Shipwreck Cattle Co. & Jess-A-Mar Farms

Offering 1 package of 3 embryos. Guarantee one pregnancy if work is done by licensed embryologist. W992 is one of the exciting young Simgenetic females to hit the block in some time. She was our private treaty selection from Limestone LLC. Full sisters work for Kyle and Amanda Conley and JRW LLC in their respective donor programs. The Brokers out of this mating have been outstanding and consistent. The cattle are wide based with loads of sweep to their rib, plenty of shape and turn or muscle throughout their top and quarter, while maintaining a flawless look and pattern. As the breed progresses forward we need to be very conscious of structure and integrity of hoof; this mating has raised the bar to new standards for those traits. Wade Schaffer claims that Stayability is the largest factor in the API equation; sound feet, practical skeleton, fertility, forageability, and mainly predictable marketability are the real world traits for remaining in our program and maintaining our quality of life! That’s what we consider our API equation minus technology and rest assured these cattle of this mating are just that kind. To further enhance the previous statement, a full sib to this mating was recently Senior Calf Champion at the 2013 AJSA Summer Classic! That heifer was exhibited by Allyson Ottensmeier. Selling choice of confirmed heifer calf pregnancies sired by Remington Lock-N-Load and/or SS/PRS High Voltage. We have full siblings to both of these mating’s on the ground this year and as they mature they continue to become more and more impressive being extremely good structured with added mass and substance while maintaining an attractive phenotype. The High Voltage tend to have a slight advantage in show ring appeal while the Lock N Loads have excellent fleshing ability and the appearance of making tremendous cows. Either mating will result in a 3/4 blood Simmental backed by one of the most productive and prominent cow families in the beef business, the famed “Donna” tribe. The donor dam of this lot, Donna 8386, produced one of the high selling heifers in our “Buildin a Brand” production sale last year selling for $18,000. The full sister to 8386, Donna 7386 produced the exciting young herd sire, Sandeen Upper Class, who sold one half interest in that same sale for $55,000, selling to some of the most respected Simmental producers in the nation who were able to more than recover their initial investment with the first and only 250 units of semen sold on Upper Class selling for over $200 per unit. The Donna cow family that has been unmatched in the Angus breed for consistent maternal productivity and is rapidly gaining notability among simmental breeders as well. This is possibly the most efficient way to acquire genetics from, what we feel, is the best cow ever to walk the pastures at Sandeen’s.

Offering 1 heifer pregnancy due 2/8/2014 Resulting calf will be 1/2 Simmental.
Sandeen Donna 7386 is the dam of one of the most talked about bulls this spring Sandeen Upper Class, who commanded a price of $55,000 for one half interest in the 2012 Buildin’ A Brand. Since his sale 250 units of semen were sold on him in Randy Daniels spring sale and averaged over $200 per unit. 7386’s progeny are loose structured, big middled, and extremely clean fronted which lends them that extra show ring style. If stayability is your main concern 7386’s great granddam KMK Donna J311 recently sold for $20,000 at nearly 13 years of age. I really believe that her mating to W/C United could be her best mating yet. When you combine this female’s show ring style, balance, and generation after generation of cow power with the predictablity and power of United you will be left with one outstanding female that will have the ability to provide the foundation of your herd for years to come.

Here are some proven, time tested Club Calf genetics that are truly as good as advertised. Miss USA is the former Triple Crown Winning Champion Low Percentage Simmental during her show career. Yet that distinction does not match her stellar production record and even better pedigree. The mating to Monopoly has already produced a $24,750 steer in 2012 and a $9,250 heifer. That steer has gone on to do quite a bit of winning so fair this show season. Hard Whiskey was the fan favorite bull in the yards at Denver in 2012 and is so highly sought after that his semen is commanding a price of over $250 per unit. Making a mark on the industry, we are offering what we feel is the most prolific mating on the farm to date. Lamborgini has exceeded our expectations as a donor, having numerous state and national level champions. Her progeny has averaged $7500 with a top of $15,000, and that’s just the beginning. Her Monopoly heifer in 2012 sold to the Goodrum Family in Texas and has been creating quite a stir being named Calf Champion in San Antonio, Huston, Star of Texas, & at the Belt Buckle Bonanza. A full brother was just honored with grand champion steer at the highly competitve Wright County Fair in Iowa, and another full brother will make his debut in Denver in the yards in 2014. Her entire 2013 calf crop was purchased off the farm by Easter Sunday this year. That speaks for itself when you realize that 10 head were on hand to choose from. It isn’t very often that a name can perfectly describe an animal but in this case the name hits the nail on the head. Eye Candy is an absolute powerhouse of a Purebred Simmental female who is square uddered, sleek necked, and excellent on the move. This females stems her heritage from one of the best and most consistant cow families on our farm. Her donor dam Cayenne goes back to a Goldmine son and a Power Drive daughter which lends the power and style that is found in Eye Candy Y792. Cayenne was the Grand Champion Female at the 2010 NWSS Junior Show and Junior Champion female in the Open Show. We have had well over 15 sons and daughters by Cayenne and all of them have been excellent property. Y792 was a very successful show heifer last summer and raised a really nice bull calf this spring. We really feel that this female exemplifies the direction of our herd and it will be very difficult to let her go Labor Day weekend. We are offering full possession and full embryo interest on this female, and are only doing so due to our ownership of her mother. Halley’s Sweet Rain stems from a long line of proven dollar producers in our operation. Her cow family has to date produced K-Ler Sweetness who brought $62,000 in the 2007 NWSS Simmental Sale, her dam’s Lock’n’Load heifer calf in 2012 topped our sale commanding a price of $26,000 having been purchased by Kramer and Denning of Iowa. A full brother to Sweet Rain, K-LER James Bond 007 is currently a herd sire for Nichols Farms, of Bridgewater, IA, who is the highest volume seller of Simmental bulls in the nation. A full sister topped our 2009 sale and is now a donor for Campbell Show Calves in Pennsylvania. That heifer was a Reserve Division Champion at the NAILE, and most importantly her first calf was sold in the 2012 Paulson Cattle Sale for $17,000, another full sibling to that calf was sold to Oklahoma for $11,000. As for Sweet Rain she was the 2012 Minnesota Simmental Association Show Heifer of the Year, Champion at the State Fair, Champion Bred & Owned a the Regionals, as well as multiple other titles. This female calved at 23 months of age, and displays a perfect udder, all while maintaining a beautiful square udder. Her name might not excite you but her pedigree is backed by several breed greats and her production has been ideal. Tracing back to K205 and 29G two of the most well-known cow families in the Simmental world this girl has power in her blood. 546 was one of the first Simmentals I ever purchased and she has paid for herself several times over. We have 2 daughters in production and they are carrying on the family tradition. The mating with Milestone has the potential to make a major impact for her new owners bottom line. I think we are making a big mistake here! A one of a kind Simmental female that is in prime of her life and she hasn’t missed to date. 29W is a daughter of the Daisey Mae donor of SVF and HTP programs, her progeny have made quite an impact at the last two North American Percentage Simmental shows. SVF/HTP Packing Heat a ¾ sibling to 29W was selected as Reserve Champion Percentage Simmental Bull in 2011 and at the most recent NAILE a maternal sibling was selected as calf champion for the Sunset View operation and later sold out of the stalls to the Udell family for $55,000. 29W has been on a roll with her first 3 calves all being top notch heifers, that is the only reason we can offer this type and caliber of female for sale with the retention of her last 2 calves. 8515 is one of the most eye-catching, imposing Angus females I have ever laid eyes on. This female displays a tremendous amount of foot and bone, which creates the foundation for the powerful muscle mass and angularity that draws your eye to her when you view her in person. I believe that this female creates a limitless amount of mating options regardless of your own herd direction. A foundation female like this one is capable of producing outstanding Angus cattle as well as percentage Simmental, Maine, & Chi cattle. When you take a look at some of the best sires and females in the industry today, you will note that almost all of them trace their lineage back to outstanding Angus females just like this one. To date this female has been flushed 5 times with a production of 32 viable embryos, those embryos have went on to produce pregnancies 71% of the time. Her first natural calf, a heifer, sold to Carrie Wiley of Indiana for $5,000, her second natural calf was the top selling bull in our 2013 bull sale who commanded a price of $8,000 and was purchased by Paul Cooper of Tennessee. Her first sets of embryo calves are on the ground this spring, and they look outstanding. As a show heifer 8515 was Grand Champion at the 2009 Kentucky State Fair Open Show, a class winner at the 2010 National Junior Heifer Show, and won Grand Champion Cow/Calf Pair honors at the 2010 Kentucky Angus Preview Show and the All American Angus Breeders Futurity Show. This female sells safe in calf to SAV Brilliance 8077, and is due to calve on 10/20/13 with a heifer pregnancy. No guesswork is needed with this female. Consigned by, Burks Cattle Company

If you are looking to dive into the Club Calf Industry and make a bang here is your opportunity. This is one of the best Sunseeker daughters I have ever laid eyes on, and she passes that added look and dimension on to her progeny too. 7073 displays ideal udder design, stellar foot and bone, as well as that hard to breed show ring style. Her Believe In Me daughter is yak haired, goose fronted, and has just enough chrome to set her apart from the competition. I can only imagine how good her Man Among Boys calf will be next spring. Drake True Blue was a past show heifer for my granddaughter Danielle, who was selected Champion Heifer at the Hancock County 4-H Fair in 2011. Her fancy made heifer calf is by our herd bull Bringin’ Rain. True Blue is a super stylish blue roan female with a bright future ahead of her. This SOS female stems from one of the best donor cows at Scottland Genetics. Her dam produced one of the top selling open heifers in last year’s Foundation sale who was selected by Reiny Way Acres and is currently being developed as a lead donor for their program. 25Z is thick topped, straight in her lines, and has an outstanding amount of bone and foot size. Moonlite also boast a great disposition and is completely halter broke. Her first calf by Wheel Man could more than pay the way for this breeding piece female. Consigned by, Nick & Shae Dwyer

The set of Pro Stock daughters being offered in this sale represent the first Pro Stock progeny to sell to date. We purchased TJSC Pro Stock from Jones Show Cattle in Ohio in their 1st Herd Bull sale in 2011. 2931 was one of his standout daughters from his first calf crop and I think this female represents the power and style that he passes on to his progeny. 2931 is big boned, deep bodied, and has a tremendous hair coat. Here is a pair of Explorer x Valentine females who are built like a cow should look. These heifers are long bodied, big footed, clean necked, and display a great udder development. You will love the top shape and skeletal strucutre displayed on this pair of females as well as that show ring look. These Explorer daughters go back to Queens Valentine the $120,000 valued female who sold in a past Foundation Female Sale. This pair of heifers really display the length of body and rib that Valentine possesses as well as her tremendous front one-third. These Explorer daughters are destined for a front pasture and the only difficult decision left is to decide which of these two females should be selected first, or just keep them together and let time decide which one is better. Miss Tish is one of those heifers when you find her after birth, you know she is special. That concept with her has not changed since then. She certainly didn’t have a very good recip cow for milk. Through that though she has maintained that cool and cocky look, that is really hard to find. She is truly sound in her structure, and deep sided as well. She is a daughter of two powerfully constructed parents, Lock’n’Load and our Stress Free 436M Donor. Lock’n’Load progeny have been sought after since arriving on the scene and 436M’s track record in the showring is second to none. Miss Tish has a very bright future ahead of her. The buyer has within 21 days following the sale to re-pregnancy test their purchase(s). All bred females have been examined safe in calf by Dr. Huston, and sell that way. If any animals are found open within those 21 days you must notify Bob at once for an adjustment to be made. All animals have been tested as required by a licensed veterinarian for the selling in the State of Illinois and are selling subject to the various health requirements of the state to which they are destined. All females are OCV’s unless stated otherwise. Actual herd health programs will be included on the supplement sheet provided during the sale weekend. Embryo Guarantees
All embryo lots being sold with a guarantee are only guaranteed if a certified embryologist performs all embryo work.
