It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 4th Annual “Buildin’ A Brand” production sale. We appreciate the fact that you have taken time out of your busy schedule to evaluate our program, and hope that you are able to find our cattle to be both useful and versatile. We are grateful for our customers which have kept us in the business of doing what we love, and we put a high value on your friendship and loyalty. Our unwavering commitment to producing highly efficient, functional cattle that are productive and long lasting while still possessing a little extra “look” remains on course. We maintain our belief that the SimAngus cattle are still the most effective tool in achieving these goals. They are also the most versatile hybrid on the market; being accepted by purebred breeders, club calf producers, and commercial cattlemen alike. For as long as I can remember we have tried to raise cattle that will live long and productive lives in a “real world” environment, but are still phenotypically equipped to produce high quality show cattle. It is, no doubt, a bit of balancing act, but seems to be evolving in a favorable manner. This years sale is highlighted by, what we feel, are the best genetics produced from the famed “Donna” tribe’s integration into the SimAngus genetic base. Never before has there been such a consistently productive, maternally potent bloodline available for the improvement of forthcoming SimGenetics. We also believe you will find this to be one of the most impressive sets of SimAngus bred females to sell this fall as well as the most powerful set of young herd bull prospects we have offered to date. Once again we would like to thank the Schooley family for their commitment to bringing their best, as well as all of our guest consignors and everyone that helps to make this sale possible. We are incredibly fortunate & blessed that our entire sale crew, from the behind the scene’s help to those front and center, is made up of some of our very best friends both locally and nation wide. These are some of the most loyal and highly talented folks in the business and we are TRULY honored to call each and every one of them a friend!!! Thanks for your time and God Bless, The Sandeen’s

Sandeen Upper Class 2386
Allow us the opportunity to introduce one of the hottest, young Upgrade sons on the block, Sandeen Upper Class, who was the top selling bull in our 2012 sale commanding a price of $55,000 for one-half interest. This bull is genetically potent an phenotypically incredible. We believe the cattle business and the Simmental breed will be appreciative of this dynamic young bull. Whether it is his ideal body mass, ridiculous softness of body, correctness of skeleton, flexibility of joints, looseness of structure or proven cow family behind him Upper Class will impress you. He was born at a time where cattle built of his nature and breed are truly needed. We realize he is not suited for everyone but those who have seen him have been amazed. To add to his resume he is homozygous black and polled, has a useful set of performance EPDs and wears white on his face. The Simmental breed has been blessed by the presence of his sire, Upgrade, the entire industry has been marked by Meyer 734 and let’s not forget the power of Coleman Donna 386. Donna 386 sold for $100,000 for one-half interest last year and is one of the most impressive females in the Angus breed. The great-granddam of Upper Class, KMK Donna J311, recently sold for $20,000 at a young age of 13. Longevity, predictability, and potency are bred in this young stud. There’s merit to basic cowboy logic and there is no question, this dude comes from a long line of proven females, bred and raised by people that have made their living in thc cattle business for generations, even before “the paper” was in existence. 250 units will be offered in packages of 10 units a piece. Offered by Sandeen Genetics, Foster Brothers Farm, Britt/Oleo Partnership, & Partisover Ranch

In addition to the full sibling embryos being offered we will offer a set of Wheel Man embryos which will result in a 3/4 Simmental calf. The 7386 cow consistently produces a tremendous amount of performance in a moderate framed, highly efficient package, while maintaining an attractive phenotype and excellent skeletal structure. She is a dominant source in the areas of fertility, milk production and udder quality. These are traits that are very rarely found in combination with one another and even more uncommonly offered for the appraisal of the general public. These are the types of superior influential genetics that are the foundation building blocks necessary to establish a prominent SimAngus breeding program. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics

It is with tremendous excitement and anticipation that we offer to the general public the opportunity to acquire one half interest in, what we feel, is one of the greatest female ever to walk the pastures at Sandeen’s. It is our sincere belief that great cows come from great cow families. It has become apparent in recent years that the “Donna” tribe would have to qualify as a “great” cow family, assuming that the criteria was based on extremely fertile, good milking, highly efficient, long lasting females that generate far above average revenue year in and year out. 8386 is without a doubt, an exceptional female from the standpoint of consistently producing the kind of cattle that are easy to sell and looking good while doing it. However, it isn’t really all that surprising as she is simply doing what she was bred to do. A year ago her full sister, Sandeen Donna 7386, produced Sandeen Upper Class. An exciting young herd sire that commanded the final hammer price of $55,000 for ½ interest and then went on to sell more than twice that amount in semen sales for his first year of service. An elite list of purebred Angus maternal sisters would include: Coleman Donna 005 that most recently topped the 2013 Coleman Angus Production Sale at $93,000; Coleman Donna 714, dam of Coleman Regis 904, and $145,000 ½ interest headliner at the 2011 National Angus Finals Sale. It has become quite apparent to some of the most prominent Angus breeders that the Coleman Donna 386 cow, dam of Sandeen Donna 8386, is the cow that will take the Angus breed back to its maternal greatness that it is so highly noted for. We invite you to join with us as we move forward in integrating this unparalleled, maternally potent cow family into the foundation of forward thinking SimGenetics. Offering 1/2 interest in this breed changing female. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics

We lead off this years bred heifer division with one we feel is quite worthy of the position due to her unrivaled lineage as well as her stunning, yet powerful phenotype. Her full sister, Sandeen Lady 1856, was a sale feature last year selling to Scott Family Farms for $18,000 and her maternal brother headlines this year’s herd bull offerings. Though somewhat similar in type and kind to her sister, 2066 would tend to have the advantage in stoutness of hip, bone, and hoof yet possesses an absolutely brilliantly designed front one third. Simply put, she is built to produce highly competitive show heifers, and bred to do it in a very consistent productive manner. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics

Sandeen Upper Class 2386
A guaranteed heifer calf pregnancy that blends the very best available from Sandeen Genetics. This will be one of the first progeny to hit the ground from Upper Class and is one of our most anticipated matings to be born in the upcoming season. The dam of this pregnancy, 9856, is definitely one of our most impressive young donor’s being extremely stout and massive with a big square hip, a cool front end and uncompromising flexibility when set into motion. Her dam, the 411J cow, was a third generation Ohlde Angus II donor that produced several high sellers for us in years past. These are rock solid genetics that you can bet the ranch on. A tremendously useful and functional pair of females here in 2005 & 2015. The 2005 heifer has the look of a productive future donor cow due to her exceptional depth and width of rib from the fore-rib to flank as well as her stoutness of hip and overall completeness. 2015 has a slight advantage through her front one third while still maintaining plenty of center dimension and being extremely loose structured and flexible on the move. Their dam, 9856, is quickly becoming a front runner in the donor pen due to her production of offspring like this. She will have a set of transplant calves next year by Upper Class that we believe will be second to none. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics and Todd and Bonnie Glosser

AI bred 5/27 to Grandmaster AI bred 5/15 to Heads Up 20X PE 5/2 till 8/1 to Schooley Bull Z199 One of the very top bred heifers to come out of the Schooley Cattle Company replacement pen. We flushed 6031 to Lock’n’Load and we couldn’t be happier for our decision. We had two females out of this mating and you will have the opportunity to purchase the best of this pair. Did I mention all the hair, bone, cow power, and style of these young females, not to mention her tremendous donor dam who helps add to these girls predictability. A wise cattle man would make the simple decision and just buy the pair and let time decide which of these females will become the greatest. My selection was the 644 that year, I liked her so much I went back to their sale two years later and found 6031. What a find! This is the first year we will be offering progeny by that Helmsman daughter, and we are sure this trio of daughter being offered will not be her last to highlight this sale. 6031 stamps a huge foot, tons of body, and plenty of neck extension into all of her progeny. Be sure to check these two Steel Force daughters by 6031 sale weekend you will not be disappointed. Offered by, Schooley Cattle Co.

The first born daughter of the 007 donor that was a $14,000 sale feature a couple of years ago selling to Klink Land & Cattle. We were fortunate enough to have them leave her here to work in our embryo transplant program. 2107 maybe the widest bodied bred heifer ever to come through our program. She is impressive from the side, but must be viewed from all angles to fully appreciate her overall mass. As a bonus she is the only bred heifer in the offering bred to sexed High Voltage. That one will be valuable! Offered by Sandeen Genetics and Klink Land & Cattle.

Definite sale feature here. We have sold several full sibs to 8056 over the past few years, both bulls and heifers. This was the one we kept to work with due to width of skeleton, fleshing ability, and attractive appearance. Her dam was a very impressive Traveler 6807 daughter that came out of the best cow family produced at Coleman’s until the Donna cows came to light. 8056 milks extremely well, as did her dam, and the only time she was ever flushed she made 17 transferable embryo’s. She is being offered here in the prime of her life only because she is not being flushed and worked here the way she deserves to be due to other donor cows being worked in ahead of her. If a person appreciates moderate, massive, good looking cows you would have to like this pair of sisters. Their mother was an awesome looking Anchor daughter that was exactly what you think of when you think of Anchor cows, moderate framed, huge bodied, stout hipped, and cool necked. No guess work here. These girls look just the way you would expect and will likely breed accordingly. The mating to sexed Chisholm should be a home run this first time out.

This would definitely be one of my top choices if I were to advise somebody on buying a heifer to just have a marketable calf every year or to start their kid a cow herd. 2007 has an excellent disposition, is extremely efficient and deep sided from fore-rib to flank. She’s not a wild necked show heifer, but she will be one of the most consistent producers on the place if she’s anything like her dam & grandam. She may not be one of the highest priced females of the day, but if I were to pick one to keep for a cow to get the job done year in and year out this just might be the one.

256 is probably the stoutest and most complete of all our quarter-blood heifers. She does have white socks, but that is far outweighed by the fact that her dam is our best quarter-blood cow. She has an absolutely perfect udder design, is phenotypically flawless, and regardless of the fact that she is a relatively small cow, she will always wean one of the heaviest calves. Couple that with the fact that 256’s grandmother has raised a calf every year for 14 years, and her great granddam produced until she was 18. I would say there is plenty of fertility, longevity, and quality bred in here, and lets not forget the Donna 386 on the top side of this pedigree, which just puts the cherry on this sundae!

First I must say I should be keeping this PB Angus heifer. Her mother 644 is our lead donor and we have flushed her for both Angus and SimAngus progeny successfully. Z222 is soft middled, extremely sound, and stands on a huge foot. Her mating to Right Answer should be very exciting and the decision on what to breed her to next will be yours, regardless to your choice on SimAngus or Angus the results are all but guaranteed.

Sandeen Donna 8386
Birth Weight 83 lbs.
Justified is a stout hipped, big topped, ruggedly constructed herd sire prospect that can be much appreciated when set into motion. His full brother-in-blood, Sandeen Upper Class, captured the attention of many top cattlemen a year ago when he topped our sale at $55,000 for ½ interest. He later went on to produce “flush quality” semen at only 11 months of age, therefore solidifying the fertility bred deeply into his lineage. He has since then produced over $115,000 worth in semen sales. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to aquire a bull that has the combination of first class genetics, stellar phenotype, and a solid E.P.D. profile necessary to become a well accepted, highly promotable herd sire. Offering 2/3 semen interest and full possession. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics

Birth Weight 86 lbs.
356 is a moderate framed, Beef Machine! Though he is moderate in his frame he has plenty of skeletal dimension and width to counter act it, and he is chuck full of red meat. A very efficiently designed bull that is a full brother to the Upper Class bull that we sold here last year. For those who appreciated the Angus bull OCC Anchor, this would be a closely replicated Simmental version of him.
Birth Weight 92 lbs.
Full brother to the 3386 bull, but this one had the misfortune of being born to a recip that had out lived her usefulness. That tough start put him a little behind, but it appears that genetics are going to prevail. Although he isn’t at his full potential there is no denying he has added bone, a big square hip, plenty of body and is the best necked of his three brothers. Offered by, Sandeen Genetics

3007 is a good haired, soft middled bull with a good square hip. His granddam is one of my very favorite half-blood Fleck cows. Lots of performance in these Upgrade sons back on the Fleck influenced cows.

One would be hard pressed to find a better red baldy Simmental bull. Especially one that can pack this kind of performance in a moderate framed, highly effecient package. This bull is just what you would expect from his donor dam, who was a $14,000 sale feature a few years back. 3761 possesses the same effecient design and attractive phenotype displayed by his impressive dam. A maternal sister sells as Lot 12.

A star headed Upgrade son that is loose structured and extra flexible in his movement. He will sire some really good performing feeder cattle, and heifers who have that added look.

The epitome of a modern day beef bull, being moderate in his frame, heavy in his structure, with a Birth Weight 87 lbs. Bred nearly identical to the 3568 bull selling, tremendous amount of muscle shape and body mass, and very similiar in type and kind. Those two bulls all while maintaining flexibility in his movement. His would make a great pair of brothers to buy and turn dam is an absolutely picture perfect cow when she out together. To pick them apart, this one probably gets ready to calve. You couldn’t draw one any bethas a slight advantage in terms of smoothness through ter. Plus there will be added fertility and productivity his front one-third, and although they would be very with the Fleckvieh influence on the bottom side. This comparable in weight this guy would have just a bit guy will make a consistant set of high quality feeder steers and second to none replacement females. more frame. ASA #: Pending
