We would like to welcome each of you to the 19th Annual Foundation Female Sale. The 2014-2015 Sale Season brought about a lot of interest and a renewed spirit in the beef cattle business at all levels of the industry. As we traveled to production sales as well as sale barns we noticed more and more young people who are entering into the cattle industry. With that influx of new producers the need to separate from the herd has become increasingly more important. This year’s offering is deep in quality and diverse in their breeding. As in the past the majority of this year’s offering sells safe in calf to AI sires with no bull exposure. This will lend you the opportunity to pay off these females within the first year of production. As you look through the offering you are sure to find a female, genetic opportunity, or a bull who can put a lasting impact on your herd. We have been fortunate enough during the course of this sale to assemble a top notch set of consignors who are committed to bringing their best to Roseville, IL on Labor Day weekend. By assembling all of these animals into one location you the buyer are able to shave off a lot of time spent searching for your next purchase. Between Bob and I, we have driven over 30,000 miles this spring searching out this group. Many of the females in the sale are already at the sale site so if you are passing through the area and would like to view the offering feel free to give us a call. During our travels we have also had the opportunity to view quite a few females who were purchased out of past Foundation Females Sales. We have also heard quite a few really good reports about the calf crop from last year’s females. We look forward to working with each of you in marketing the progeny produced from this set of cattle and genetics. We look at this sale as just the first step in the journey for all of the cattle consigned. The next and most important step is helping each of you, the best way we can, market your purchases and add to your bottom line.

On a personal note this fall was pretty exciting for the entire Dwyer Clan. During Thanksgiving weekend Kim and Jason had their first child and the first grand child Mya. I won’t lie to you we were pretty excited when she was born healthy and happy! Thank you for your consideration, Dwyer Cattle Services 740 26th Street Roseville IL 61473 Bob 309-337-1404 Nick 309-337-6404 Email: sales@dwyercattle.com

Directions to the farm

Often times GPS will try to direct you to the wrong location to the sale. To get to the sale site from Roseville, IL drive west on highway 116 for 3.5 miles, and then turn north on 26th Street (the road only goes North) then drive straight till you see a big tent.

Foundation Female Junior Program... If you have ever had the opportunity to get to know us you would know that we are strongly committed to all facets of

the Junior Livestock Industry. That dedication has grown from our own experiences in growing up participating in Livestock Shows and Judging Contest, and the feeling of need to give back to pay off our debts from years participating in these events. It is no secret that these events aren’t easy to put on, taking a combination of donations ranging from monetary to time. In an effort to help give back we will be hosting our 8th Annual Livestock Judging Contest on September 5th, 2015. This contest is sponsored by the Western Illinois University Hoof ’n’Horn club. Check in will start at 8:30 am, with start time to be around 9:30 am, and is open to all Juniors under the age of 18. Trophies will be handed out to the top individuals and teams at both the Junior and Senior level, and lunch will be provided to all Juniors and Coaches. Please contact Mark Hoge, md-hoge@wiu.edu, with any questions about the judging contest. The Heifer & Show Steer giveaway will take part on September 6th. In order to enter for this give away just check in your Junior at the clerks table prior to our during the sale, and the choice of a heifer calf and steer will be given to two lucky Junior members (The first winner will be given choice between the pair). You must be present at the time of the giveaway to win, and under the age of 18. The giveaway calf will be halter broke and ready for a Junior member to work with. All we ask is that if you are ever given the opportunity to give back in the future please do so.

Diamond continues find herself at the top of our PB Simmental donor lineup year after year. Diamond a triple crown winner in her own right is the dam of the red hot Simmental Sire Bandwagon, who was sired by our popular sire Optimus Prime. A I-80 daughter of Diamond’s was a sale feature in our 2013 High Standards Female Sale and was later named 5th Overall Percentage Heifer at the Simmental Junior Nationals. Another daughter by Steel Force was a leadoff bred heifer in our 2014 High Standards female sale, and other daughters by Optimus Prime have topped past High Standards Female Sales. Diamond has worked on every bull we have ever flushed her to and we expect nothing but the best by her mating to Rodger’s hot new sire Outsider. It isn’t very often that we let embryos leave this farm so make sure you are on hand to benefit from these great genetics. Guarantee one pregnancy per package if embryo work is done by a certified embryologist.

104X has quickly moved her way towards the top of the donor pen at our place having already secured the Supreme Champion honors at the Ohio State Fair with her calf by High Regard. That heifer who was shown by the Muir family in 2014 was also named the 4th Overall female at the Junior Nationals. 104X is no one hit wonder as this female produced a I-80 daughter (who was recently named Reserve Champion Mainetainer at the Ohio State Fair), as well as a trio of High Regard daughters who highlighted our 2014 High Standards female sale. This will be the first set of One Eyed Jack’s that we have ever had and we truly feel that the power that lies within 104X will match well with the eye-appeal that One Eyed Jack throws into his progeny. It is very rare that we allow embryos such as these to be sold so make sure you take full advantage of the opportunity that lies within this lot. Guarantee one pregnancy if embryo work is done by a certified embryologist.

We all know the effect that Queens Valentine R9 has had on the Simmental breed over the past few years, but her success is not just a dream of the past. Last fall her daughter by Built Right, Right To Love the dam of Quatum Leap, was one of the top sellers for the Hudson Pines program commanding $40,000. Just this spring Mike Cox from Macomb, IL raised a Wheel Man x Valentine daughter who sells as Lot 207 in this year’s sale. That particular heifer originated as an embryo purchased from this sale. For this year’s genetic offering on Valentine we will be giving the winning bidder choice between sexed heifer pregnancies on Steel Force or Built Right. We will also offer choice between sexed IVF embryos by either Broker or Built Right, as well as offer 4 IVF unsexed embryos by the now deceased Man Among Boys. A whole host of tremendous opportunities await the winning bidders on this package of embryos and a pregnancy by BFSC Irish Rose. Irish Rose knew she was going to be a donor cow the day she hit the ground. It is rare to find a Irish Whiskey daughter who is this sound out through her hip, and so flexible when you get her on the move. The grand dam to these matings Black Jade helped to lay the foundation for our donor battery, as well as many other donor lineups across the country. The consistency and potency created by this cow family is incredible, which negates the unknown with these matings. The Broker heifer pregnancy is due 12/7/15 and will make for one outstanding future show heifer/donor cow, while the matings to Rodger That & Fu Man Chu could be flat incredible as this cow has already clicked time and time again to Monopoly. The choice for the direction of your herd is in your hands now, but rest assured regardless of the mating you choose success is just around the bend. The Black Jade legacy continues to inspire the next generation of great ones! Hot Like Me is one of the most impressive Heat Wave cows I have ever had the opportunity to come across. This young cow has as much natural width and power as you can put into a breeding piece without sacrificing structural correctness. Hot Like Me is also a proven producer of quality having already produced the Reserve Supreme Heifer at the Iowa State Fair. The early reports I have received on Rodger That & I Believe have been quite impressive, and thus my decision to flush this outstanding cow that direction. I have sold 3 bulls by her to seedstock producers, included in that list of bull buyers is Shannon Welsh who purchased her 2014 bull calf we have also sold her only daughter by JF Program. I really expect her mating to Stepping Stone to have the ability to pay for this cow right out of the gate. Tested homo-polled and homo-black. W956 is one of the most versatile daughters of S657 to date.

Pearl is one of the shaggiest, stoutest featured, cleanest chested, TH & PHA free females you will ever lay eyes on. If it wasn’t for the registration paper to document her age you would never guess by looking at her that she is 9. Pearl has been a tremendous embryo producer in her lifetime having produced an average of 10 per flush. We have progeny by multiple sires on her to date and all of them possess her shag hair, sound movements, and are excellent milk producers. Her daughter at side by High Regard is a super complete heifer with a great disposition. We are able to let this heifer go, due to the fact that we have full siblings to her coming in early January. Donor cow has DNA on file with the Simmental Association and has been tested free of all known genetic defects.

Blackcap is exactly what we look for when purchasing Angus cows. This cow has an impressive foot and bone set that carries her large, long body, so smooth that you have to stop and stare. The only reason we are parting ways with this tremendous Angus cow is the fact that we have several embryos in the tank. Her 1st natural calf was a Bismarck that we sold as a bred heifer in the 2012 Angus Futurirty sale for $5,500. Her next calf was a Brave Bull that stood 2nd at ROV Angus show at NAILE, and commanded top dollar at the Angus Futurity sale. She found her way straight to the donor pen after two successful natural calves. This Step up heifer that sells at her side will truly shows this cow’s potential when mated to the top Simmental bulls in the nation. If you are serious about raising high caliber Club Calf mommas take notice of this cow family. We selected this Irish Whiskey donor from the First Class Female Sale, and since our purchase she has climbed her way to the top of our donor pen. This Whiskey daughter is fault free in her skeletal design, expressive in her muscle shape, and stamps her progeny with that killer look you have come to expect from the Whiskey Legacy. Along with this donor we decided to offer this pair of Troubadour daughters who have all the look and power you could ever ask for. These heifers are sleek necked, flat in their muscle pattern, stand on a big foot, and have a great disposition. They are also selling safe in calf to the calving ease specialist Brilliance, which should allow you to sleep easy during calving time. We are able to let this cow family go due to the fact that we have quite a few eggs in the tank by multiple matings, which should allow us to replenish these genetics into our own herd. If you have any questions about these females feel free to give me a call.

One thing that I can absolutely guarantee you with this cow family is that hair will never be an issue. 82Y is a young Full Flush daughter who brings to the table a tremendous amount of milk and fertility, to date I have used 3 units of semen on her and have 2 AI calves, and 1 pregnancy to show for it. Her first calf was a steer who sold in this sale for $2100, and her second calf is this tremendous Lone Ranger heifer who is no slouch to say the least. I bred her back for a half-blood Simmental calf who regardless of sex will be highly marketable. 82C is a sound made, complete Lone Ranger heifer who blends market heifer level hair and look, with a maternal muscle pattern and structural correctness. It is hard to find a direct Meyer 734 daughter who is this soft made. 826U is a deep sided former show heifer we acquired from the Mark Johnson program in western Iowa who we showed very successfully in the 2009 show season. This star headed female has produced multiple daughters we have retained in our herd by Simmental sires. This will be her first mating on the Club Calf side of the table and we expect that this calf will be pretty special.

This mating flat works. I have 3 sibling sisters in my herd and sold another last year for $5,500. The bulls are powerful and correct. Resulting calf will be a PB Simmental, pregnancy checked 7/13/15 and found safe with a bull calf.

You would have to drive a lot of miles to find a Charolais Cross donor who is this powerful while yet still maintaining a feminine look. I have successfully flushed this young donor cow this summer to MAB & Steel Force, and can’t wait to see the results from those matings. This 4 year old maintains a stellar udder design, stands on a monster foot, and is really clean fronted all the way down to her chest floor. It has been said that you can’t put a price on fun, and this one is flat fun. Big Red is built like a prototypical Ohlde possessing unmatched power, near perfect skeletal design, as well as a long level hip structure. If I was a smarter man I would probably hold onto this young cow, but my mistake is your gain. Big Red’s first calf was an Upgrade heifer calf who sold for $2750 straight off the cow, and I expect this calf by Fu Man Chu to have the ability to cash in that big check.

All four of these females are Shocking Dream Daughters by young Commercial Angus cows. All of these half-blood Simmental females are near perfect in terms of structure, posses a monster foot and added bone, as well as display ample rib shape and length of spine. 4275 is the spitting image of a donor cow in the making, she is square hipped, long and level in her build, and is striking on the profile. 4200 is the ground sow of the group, boasting the most rib shape of any in the group. While 4246 & 4279 are both sure to make front pasture cows for years to come, with there added body and power they are the type that will work well when mated to Hammer. All four of these heifers are selling safe in calf for early Spring born AI calves. Be sure you check this group out sale weekend you will not be disappointed.

The Milestone sisters display great growth and flesh ability, and we haven’t even mentioned the softness of rib, soundness and their quiet disposition. Take advantage of what these two can bring to the table. Along with the flush mate sisters we are also offering up a Dream On daughter by our new donor Miss Monica. This Dream On female is excellent on the move and has loads of body capacity. Safe in Calf: This one sells guaranteed to I-80 with no bull exposure for a 5/8 Maine calf just waiting for her new owner. I also forgot to mention that she is halter broke. I was fortunate enough this spring to have acquired W/C No Remorse from Huston Cattle Company, and as soon as he finished his time at Nichols. I decided to put that bull right to work with my older bred heifers to create this set of early calving bred heifers. All of these females ran with No Remorse from 3/16 till 6/11. These females will start calving early January and will be done by early March. I really think that these heifers will mate well with No Remorse as these females are flat made, with added frame and performance. The No Remorse progeny I have seen across the country are stamped with a show ring look, added hair, and ample rib shape. Not to mention the fact that No Remorse is a proven producer of calving ease as well as sale topping quality. All of the A model females are two year old first time calvers, which should add to the ease with which they not only calve but also breed back. If you are looking for consistancy in your first calf crop look this set of heifers up, they will not disappoint. Consigned by, Willie Morris Cattle Company

Body mass, capacity, and an abundance of brood cow potential is just the beginning to what this Step Up daughter personifies. 12C is a own daughter of a full sibling to the infamous She’s So Sweet 98R who has placed progeny straight into the upper echelon of the Simmental business. This female has all her cow families best traits in spades. A killer look, added power, added bone, and yet still maintains a graceful feminine look. This young lady will not only excel in the show ring she also has the donor look about her which will lend her well when her productive phase of life begins.

This heifer has a lot going for her. The future should be very bright for this one. She is the natural calf out of our newest donor 436A. She produced this one as a first calf heifer, along with 4 other progeny thru the in-vitro process. What a job she has done. The secret to success here is American Pride mated to a Meyer 734 out of our 436M donor. This young lady is sound in her movement, will have great depth of body, and is very feminine thru her front one-third.

Dianna 592C stems directly from two Triple Crown winners, MR HOC Broker and HRPR DIANNA T090. We all know that Broker calves have swept up the 2014 and 2015 show season siring multiple Grand Champions across the country. I believe that 592C will follow in the same path. She has tremendous foot and bone set that carries her loads of capacity. She has been admired by many that have made it out to our pastures in the early spring. I know I have said it before but, an opportunity like this to buy a heifer that stems directly from two Triple Crown winners is very rare and you have come to the right place to take her home and be the one in the backdrop next year.

It is very rare to find a 3/4 Simmental who is this freak necked and feminine made who also possesses all the body and foot and leg power you could ever ask for. This March born Valentine is just flat cocky. As I study this heifer I see a world of potential as a breeding piece. With her being a 3/4 Simmental she is just one generation removed from producing PB seed stock and that is where I think the big money is to be made on her. Backed by the outstanding breed changer Queens Valentine should only lead to the potency offered by this Wheel Man daughter.

HPF MS Melody M011 has done it again at 4th Meridian Farm! 575C is a super sweet show heifer prospect. Really soft made, deep bellied, killer front 1/3, and to top it off she is definitely the best haired SimAngus we have ever raised. Unfortunately for us, our cornerstone donor Melody M011 had to be put down last year at the age of 13 and an opportunity like this 575C show heifer prospect will never come again. This heifer has got the look, she has got longevity in her blood line, and she will be a lot of fun for a Junior to pull around this coming show season. In the 2014 Foundation Female Sale we offered up a pot load lot of commercial cattle that were all bull bred. For the 2015 Sale we decided to AI on the pot load group, to add to the consistency and quality of calves produced. The 28 head listed above were pregnancy checked at 30 days post breeding and once they where confirmed AI bred we removed them from bull exposure. We will re-pregnancy check these females prior to the sale to confirm AI dates. In addition to the 28 head listed above we will offer 20 head of Angus & BWF 3-5 year old females selling with service by 2 BWF Simmental bulls as well as 2 Angus bulls selling with a 60 day calving window (Selling as Lots 500-519). Information on those females will be available online as well as printed sale weekend. All of the females were given a round of pre-breeding vaccinations, multi-min, wormed, poured, and one round of scour booster. All of the females have been summered on grass and will weigh in the 1150# range. If you would like to view these females prior to the sale feel free to give us a call. Foundation Female Sale Success Stories... Jones Show Cattle purchased Miss Kansa in the 2012 Foundation Female Sale, while Foster Family Show Cattle purchased the flush opportunity. That flush resulted in TJSC Kansa 823B who highlighted the 2014 High Standards Female Sale and was later named the Reserve Champion PB Simmental Female at Junior Nationals. That female is currently being shown by the Udell Family of Iowa. KLS Diamond W516 was selected by Changing J Simmentals in the 2011 Foundation Female Sale. That female who is also owned by Jones Show Cattle has placed females at the top of their High Standards Female Sale year in and year out. Recently Diamond produced the Hot New PB Simmental sire Bandwagon, who is quickly finding his way onto the must use list.

Mike Cox purchased a set of Wheel Man x Valentine embryos in a past Foundation Female Sale. Those embryos produced two heifer calves for Mike. One of those females will be retained in his herd, while the other female sells in this sale as Lot 207. While the final chapter of this story has not been written yet, the future sure looks bright!

All of the cattle photographed below are direct progeny from cattle purchased from a past Foundation Female Sale. We wish each of you the best of luck with your purchases and feel free to give us a call when you start dropping calves. We are more than happy to help you out with marketing your livestock!
