OWC Wolfe Farms Show Cattle Complete Herd Dispersal 10.22.16 AT 1:00 PM EST www.dwyercattle.com
Opportunities such as this are all to rare in this business and must be seized. The cattle represented in this sale book represent over 40 years of extensive ET and AI matings, with the goal each year being to out do ourselves from one calf crop to the next. The cattle presented have given us the opportunity to make a living doing what we love but now the time has come to let these females leave the farm and go to work for the next generation of cattlemen and women. Over the years Diane & I have dedicated the bulk of our lives to this cow herd. Spending winters feeding and calving, springs vaccinating, breeding, and planting crops, summers spent making hay, halter breaking calves, and picturing, while the falls where spent marketing the fruits of our labor and attending County Fairs and State Fairs. While the chore list was always too long to accomplish we really enjoyed all of the blood, sweat, tears, and most importantly laughter that accompanied the cattle industry. When this group of cattle leaves the farm it will be a tough day for us but I’m sure what we will remember most of all is the people who we have been fortunate enough to have worked with over the years, even more so than the cattle that we have worked so hard to develop. We have been very blessed to place cattle all across the country who have went on to become Show Ring Champions as well as herd changers for their new owners. We have raised Champions at every level available and have been lucky enough to have had our name become synonymous with quality in the show stock industry. The donors and AI sires we have been lucky enough to be a part of over the years continue to shape the seed stock industry and move the nations cow herd, and we couldn’t be any more proud to have had the opportunity to affect herds all across the nation in a positive direction. As you look through this book I’m sure you’ll notice that we have a strict type of female we like to keep around. They must be good footed, sound moving, fertile, and excellent through their hip. If we are fortunate enough to have you attend the sale you are sure to note that all of the cattle in the offering are extremely docile and many are halter broke. Over our 40 plus years in this industry we have learned that wild cattle are too much of a headache to keep around and structure is hard to breed out in one generation. Thus structure, fertility, and docility have been our keys to the cattle business. This spring Diane and I made the difficult decision to part with this herd in order to allow ourselves to take a step back when it comes to day to day cow work. We really wanted to have some more time to chase grandchildren and enjoy the later year’s of our lives. This decision will allow each of you the opportunity to purchase females who have granted us a great life, and have allowed us to meet some of the best people in the world. We truly appreciate everyone who has helped us out over the years neighbors, friends, and buyers alike. We look forward to offering you this set of cattle and if you have any questions about any of the females being offered feel free to give us a call. Also if you would like to view the cattle prior to sale week please give me a call, the farm is located just minutes from Richmond, IN. Thank you & we hope you enjoy these cattle as much as we have over the years, Wolfe Farms Show Cattle Oran & Diane Wolfe 5674 N. The Black Jade Tribe
A cow to build a herd around regardless of breed!
Black Jade is one of the most influential and recognizable cows to ever grace the Simmental as well as Club Calf business. Her dominance began in the show arena claiming Supreme Heifer at the Indiana State Fair as well as winning the Triple Crown, but her best work has been done in the donor pen. This female has the ability to produce great daughters, sons, granddaughters, and grandsons. Her progeny all carry her great traits impressive length of spine, great front one-third, and tremendous foot and bone structure, one of her strongest traits is the ability to improve with age and reproduce in kind. Jade progeny as well as Jade herself are noted for their longevity and embryo producing capabilities. There have been so many great donor cows, AI sires and so many great cattle that trace back to her it is truly phenomenal. We have a lot of her genetics in this sale for you to take advantage of. We only wish we would have kept back more daughters out of her over the year’s but sometimes you just have to pay the bills. Since we could not keep them all back we kept back the ones that we truly felt had all the traits and characteristics needed to make donors. Now is your chance to add one of the greatest Simmental based cow families to your herd. Be sure you take extra time to evaluate all of the females in this offering who go back to Black Jade! Embryos by the Jade clone sell as Lot 78.

Wow! Check out the pedigree on these two beautiful females as they are stacked with cow power on both sides. I see a bright future ahead for this pair regardless of the direction you choose to mate them. These females are great fronted, huge footed, big boned, and yet are nearly flawless in their skeletal design. Just imagine the look that this two will present when they get around 5 to 6 years of age. The 419A female had her first calf this spring and you couldn’t ask for a better udder design or a better job of raising that first calf.

Hottie is a carbon copy version of her illustrious donor dam only in a more moderate package. She has the look, added power, huge foot, and the ability to produce stellar high % Maines or true powerhouse steers. This young female is ready to hit the donor pen. I know it looks strange that I put eggs in big time cows but over the years I have never got along buying commercial cows to put embryos in so when a good cow is in heat at the right time for embryos to be put in she gets an egg. As you read through the catalog you will find quite a few really good cows carrying really good embryos.

She has had several top sellers for us on both the steer and heifer side. Last summer her granddaughter was Champion Mainetainer & Champion Chi at the Indiana State Fair Open Show. That female was out of a two year old Walks Alone daughter. She also did well at the Indiana State Fair. This Alias female has consistently produced 10-14 embryos per flush over the years. She sells open and ready to flush. Just to sweeten the deal for her new owner this cow sells with the X60 cow who is carrying a embryo by Here I Am x Diane’s Cow 6. But all the cow power is still there and given time I really believe this is one will come back and become a standout donor in her own right. Owned by DeGroat Family.

Unregistered Due to calve 2/8 to Daddy’s Money
510 is out of a cow that has been doing a great job for us for years. She is selling safe to Daddy’s Money and if last year is any demonstration for what’s to come then this mating should be great. Nearly every Daddy’s Money calf out of my first calvers last year made my pasture sale. Nothing better than a first calver who pays you back in a big way.

AMAA #: Pending DNA Due to calve 2/8 to Daddy’s Money
These heifers are a result of a split embryo and thus they are almost identical. Great necked, good in their lines and very attractive. When I went to flush Queen of Hearts I really wanted to do her to Unlimited Power as I have seen quite a few in production that I really liked. As flush breeding approached I realized that I only had one unit of Unlimited Power in the tank thus I threw in the Predator semen with it. I really never expected to be selling this mating so I figured I would just DNA the progeny. Thus DNA has been sent in to find out which bull they are out of and DNA should be back prior to sale day. Owned with Wampler Farms.

613 is a really good in her lines, with plenty of bone underneath her. I love the way she ties into the point of her shoulder as well as her base width. These Whiskey daughters are highly sought after for a good reason. One with this much cow power behind her should really add value.

631 is soft made, great haired, deep bodied, and sound made just like momma. The 331 Who cow has been a great donor for us for several years, producing high selling steers and heifers as well as many Champions. That cow was very fertile and worked well regardless of mating. Very consistent high level producing cow family here. 631 looks to fit the mold of her outstanding cow family.

Thank you all for the wonderful memories we have made in the cattle industry. I cannot think of a better way to live a life or raise a family. The 40 plus years we have spent developing this cow herd have been some of our very best years and we are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with so many great families. We have three matings for the great Queen of Hearts cow. This full sibling to Jaded Whiskey has done a great job in our program as well Wampler’s. Each of these matings are proven and have developed into outstanding females as well as steers. On the C. lot I used one unit of Predator & one unit of Unlimited Power so calves will need to be DNA’d to determine sire.

Donkeys will sell as choice or take the pair
I have used both of these Donkeys over the years to break hard to handle sale calves and both of them have done the trick for me. One is smaller made while the other is a little bigger. Winning bidder can take choice or double the bid and buy them both. We will then auction off the remaining donkey. Both come with the breaking belts already on them.
