General Sale Information – American Shorthorn Association Genetic Defect Disclaimer: Unless an animal is listed on the American Shorthorn Association “genetic defect status list”, the American Shorthorn Association makes no representation of any kind as to whether or not the animal has a genetic defect. Terms And Conditions: Cattle sell per the terms and conditions of the American Shorthorn Association. Announcements from the auction block on sale day will take precedence over the information printed in this catalog. The terms of payment are cash or good check (with proper identification, i.e. drivers license), as well as Visa or Mastercard, made payable to the sale clerks. If you choose to use a credit card, you will incur a 3% service charge which will be applied to the total sale cost (thus a $1,000 heifer will cost you $1,030). No cattle will be loaded until approved by the sale clerks. Health: Each animal selling will be accompanied with a state approved health certificate from its state of origin for interstate travel. Buyers should make themselves aware of the health requirements for their respective states. Bred females have been pregnancy checked safe by a licensed veterinarian. Updated breeding information will be available on a supplement sheet sale day. This sheet will take precedence over statements in the sale catalog. All bulls selling are guaranteed to be breeders. Breeding Guarantee: The Suggested Breeding Guarantee as endorsed by the American Shorthorn Association will be followed. Registration And Transfer: All animals sell with completed pedigrees or applications for registration in the hands of the sale manager. Please leave all transfer information with the sale clerks at the completion of the sale. Livestock Transportation: No cattle will be loaded until the completion of the sale. We will be happy to assist with arranging delivery of purchases to your farm or a convenient location. Insurance will be available for your purchases at the sale through Harding & Harding Insurance Company. Contact the clerks at the time of settlement for your insurance needs. Yet again the members of the Illinois State Shorthorn Association have kept to their word and have brought you their very best to appraise Saturday February 27th at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. Over the years this sale has become a source of top quality females as well as sires who have gone on to produce success for there new owners. Just last year a female selected, sight unseen, from the Woker Family went on to be named Supreme Overall Champion Heifer at the Michigan State Fair. Along with that successful female, this sale while small on numbers, has produced the Reserve Champion Land of Lincoln female, Champion Shorthorn at the West Viriginia State Fair, as well as two elite AI sires. The reason for this success is clear, the members of the Illinois Shorthorn Association have been committed to offering their very best each and every year and the buyers in this sale have proven to be top notch cattlemen and women. It was a exciting year for our program this year, our Woker Family consignment to last year’s sale was selected this fall as the Supreme Champion Female at the Michigan State Fair. That heifer was a little green at sale time but had all the lines and pieces to become a great one, and with the hard work of the family who purchased her she was able to put the pieces together and become a Champion. This heifer fits that same mold, she has great hair, fluid in motion, and has the lines to become a contender in the show ring.
