We Do Exhibition This was an event/exhibition I attended on the 11/01/17 by Havas Lynx, the exhibition was to celebrate there work since 2016-2017. the event was a fantastic experience to gain an insight into the type of work that they do, afterwards we received a lovely bound book of all of the featured projects during the event which I benefited a lot from and look back at. The event also opened me up to the opportunity to network with other people and attempt to make contacts or to just practice my social skills. I managed to receive a few business cards throughout this experience and chatted to several people despite it being daunting!

WORKSHOP DIARY
10 Principles of Design As part of my professional Context module, one our workshops was to design a series of posters that communicated the 10 principles of design using basic shapes. However I decided to go against the brief a little and used more abstract elements instead as I thought this would be more interesting. I learned this type of abstract digital art look through a skillshare video I watched, which I gained a lot of useful tips and tricks from in Photoshop/illustrator.

Editorial design and grids baby! Grids and editorial design is something that we have been given workshop to really help us use indesign CC to its full advantage and create beautiful & professional layouts. These workshops have benefited me a lot in other modules including the creation of this dossier, one our mini briefs that was set was to design a mini folding double sided posterzine for DM17 utilising grids and content management so its ready to print.

Book binding sessions Book binding sessions are always really fun and interesting. I attended multiple book binding sessions with our technical demonstrator Hannah Gibson. Throughout the workshops I gained a lot of knowledge of types of book binds that have really helped me come up with ideas and confidentially bind books together. I used the skills learned in the workshops to produce my publication outcome for my contemporary context module which I was rather happy with. This also made realise that I really like editorial and book binding.

Online and offline presence Throughout this year I have been developing an online presence in an attempt to get my self recognised by potential employers or just for more publicity. I have setup a linked, behance, instagram, facebook and all the other platforms.. and populated them with content and try and keep people updated on what I’m doing or working on also engaging with the design community. My behance is up to date with lots of different projects and case studies and also is linked to a website I am currently working on.

CV & Cover letter
Producing a CV was quite a challenging experience after many years of just having a crappy word document version. I re-wrote my current CV and produce this more elegant looking version, utilising my formatting & layout skills learnt in university, whilst carefully considering the copy that I wrote in it to make myself sound professional but interesting.
