Assignment 1: Multi View Drawing Narrative: Create a mulit View Drawing of of various solid geometries that includes a plan, two elevations and use different line weights Strengths: I think that our project overall is strong, we chose shapes that vary in shape, sixe, height, length. The drawing that we produced has all required views and is very clean to see and understand Weaknesses: The weakest part of our drawing is the use of line weight. I think that we were able to communicate what we wnated with the line weights that we have however i think that we could have done some more varriation in line weights to convey things that are in front and in the back better Opportunities: If i were to repeat this project i would probably try to add some more shapes and space things out more in a way that the drawing could have been represented in a more clear concise way Risks: Problems that i could see if i were to do it again would be that adding more objects like i would want to could make it a more interesting project but all clutter the layout and make it too overwhelming

Assignment 2 : Folding Planar Objects Narrative: The objective of this assignment is to create a poly-surface object by folding a polygonal shape a minimum of 4 times. Strengths: I think that we did a good job in folding the polygonal shape many times to come up with a shape that would allow for an interesting layout and expldoded axon. Weaknesses: The weakest part of our project is the exploded axon drawing. The way that we made it convays what we want but it is not done in the best way that it coudlve been done. Opportunities: If i were to do this project again something i would have done differntly is take a section cut from a different or multiple angles to really show on the folds throughout the object Risks: Problems i woudl see if i were to do this problem differently would be that i can see trying to have drawings that show off the shape in some differnt ways but that ending up causing some confusion

Assignment 3: Boolean Objects

Page 8 Assignment 3

Narrative: The objective of this project was to use cutting planes to carve away at a rectangle and then boolean a shape through the carved away rectangle and create a model that you can unrollsrf and create out of heavy print paper.

Steps for creating model

Create Solid Object

Use Clipping Plaanes to Change Object Shape

Boolean Shape Through Created Shape

Rotated Views of Created Shape

Strengths: I think a stong part of this project was creating an obscure shape with a hole punched through that we were able to create into a paper model.

Page 9 Assignment 3

Unrollsrf command to create makeable 3D object Weaknesses: I think that our rhino model accomplished the goal of the assignment well. I think that the weak aspect of our project was the actual construction of the paper model and way that it was put together with tape and it being slightly crushed

Assignment 4: Grafting

Page 12 Assignment 4

Narrative: The objective of this assignment was to construct a graft surface inbetween two existing Nurbs surfaces using tangencies to the existing surfaces as the basis for the new surface

S.U.4

Strengths: In this assignment a strenth that we hah was our ability to get more then the minimum of three tangencies and being able to produce clear drawings that show the process and end product. This allowed us to be able to communicate our work in a way that most people would understand Weaknesses: This project was definitely a tough projet to do and we ran into some issues through the process. The toughest part of the project was being able to create curves that were tangent to exactly one point on the existing surfaces. Another part that was tough that we accomplished but coudlve been done better was creating the process of how we got to our final product drawings. I think they do the job but they are very vage in description and are not the best produced drawings and for someone who knew nothing about the project or Rhino might not understand what we did or how we got what we got

S.U.4

Opportunities: If i were to repeat this project and had more time to work on it something i would have done differently would be to try and get a higher number of tangencies and create an even more organic looking surface. Another thing i would have tried to do differently would be to create some more drawings that help explain the project as a whole

Page 14 Assignment 4

Page 15 Assignment 4

Risks: Some problems i would see encountering if i were to redo the project would be that if i were to try and have more tangencies in the surface it would start to get much more difficult to create the curves and keep track of the tangencies and make sure that they all are legitimate tangencies

Assignment 5 : Mashrabiya Narrative: Create a Mashrabiya design inspired from research of different existing designs

Steps for Creation of Individual Unit

Strengths: In this project i think that the strongest aspect of what we created was having a very simple design in the begining stages that is esaily undertood in the way it was thought of and created yet in the end produces a much more complex final product

Elevation of Individial Unit

Plan of Individual Unit

Page 17 Assignment 5

Mirrioring and Multiplication of Individual Unit

Page 18 Assignment 5

Weaknesses: There were a couple things that we wanted to have our design include that we didnt get to doing or had trouble accomplishing. One thing was that we wanted to offset that individaul stacked units so that the straight vertival lines that we see no would not exist and it would create and even more complex looking design but we thought of it to late in the project that we didnt have enough time to go figure out how to accomplish that with our already created individual unit

Page 19 Assignment 5

Risks: Problems that i would see encountering while doing things differently in this project would be to actually think about structural integrity of the wall if it were actually created. I think if i went back i would want to make things more complex which in turn would make the ability for this to be created much more difficult Opportunites: If i were to repeat this project some some things that i would have done differently would have been to explore more in the begining sketching stages when making the individual unit think and thinking about the stacked overall look of the idea for the unit more then focusing on the unit itself as much
