The Holy Father announced that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee (something which happens every 25 years), and the theme is
The Holy Door of Saint Peter is only opened by the Pope during a jubilee, and it is usually the first door to be opened to indicate the beginning of the Holy Year. This rite was first reported to happen at Saint Peter’s Basilica in 1500 during the papacy of Alexander VI. At present, the wall sealing the door is dismantled a few days in the days leading up to its opening. During this time, a case, which has been bricked over since the end of the previous Holy Year, is freed, and inside it contains the key which allows the door to be opened.
To celebrate this momentous occassion, we have created several special Jubilee pilgrimage itineraries for those wishing to experience the Jubilee in 2025.
The Vatican and the city of Rome are expecting an estimated 35 million people to flock to the Eternal City for the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope — the first ordinary jubilee since the Great Jubilee of 2000.
If you would like to experience what is sure to be an incredible spiritual journey, contact one of our travel experts today, and let’s get started on choosing the right itinerary for you and your group!
