A Rough guide to
Shoreditch And surrounding areas
Beach Blanket babylon THis east london sister to the popular covent garden resturant offers dogey survice at a frightful price tag. on the plus side the cocktails were good if your lucky enough to get served. The decor is attractive though and it does well to persuade the liverpool street suits that they are ‘egdy’ enough for the east end.
The shoreditch with very attractive signage attracted us with free entry and was extremely busy even on a tuesday night. Another attractivly designed bar.
The Shore ditch
Trapeze
If you are one of those people who can’t decide between party mash ups and house music, this is the place to be. Trapeze offers circus themed cocktail bar upstairs, meaning there are acrobatic equipment on the ceiling and clown pictures on the wall. The stairway leads to the ‘basement club’ where house music attracts a more alternative crowd.
plastic people It is hard to find a club that would be all about the music, but that is exactly what Plastic People is. It offers techno, house, hip-hop, and other more experimental nights and shows. With that being said, there is not much for the eyes or for the whole body, for that matter, as the venue is awfully small. That might explain why you need to get there super early or/and wait in the queue for at least an hour.
The masque haunt
A typical pub where it can be hard to find a table despite the fact it is actually vast. On Fridays they offer a pint and fish and chips for a bit more than a fiver which is a pretty good deal considering a pint usually costs around four. I have yet to try how it actually tastes, but for now i always have a plan B.
Boxpark is shoreditch’s way of doing a mall, built out of shipping containers and housing a wide range of trendy brands seeling all sorts of lifestyle products. Its quite a nice place to grab so food if the suns out; the falafel place has a really great salad bar.
Crown and shuttle THe crown and shuttle in shoreditch was left derelict for 12 years before being reopened in 2013 is now one of my favorite watering holes with a really big outside are with both heaters and roof its a smokers paradise. seems to be busy whenever i go there
when asked... ‘Shoreditch is probably the only other area in London apart from Camden, that you can convey in a dress sense. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been told I look very Shoreditch.’ ‘Erica, 17, CSM Student
When asked... ‘It’s awesome here, if you don’t like it here, fuck yourself.’ Random drunk man on shoreditch high street
Shoreditch fact THe first two theatres in london were both in shoreditch and were built in the 1570’2; this was because the lord mayor of london wouldn’t allow them to be within the city of london walls.

When asked ...

‘’For me, Shoreditch just stands out from the rest of London, the fact that anywhere else, graffiti, old yellow bricks and rotting wood would have councils up in arms, but here, it’s precisely what makes Shoreditch beautiful.’
When asked ... ‘This is the only part of London which any door could lead to all sorts of treasure troves, art, vintage clothes, food, you name it and it’s here.’
. Brick Lane coffee Walking in after a year I was surprised that nothing has changed except for the poster in the bathroom. The place is nicely decorated and the barista can make a decent cup of coffee. However, they made a crack about a coffee per day keeping Ebola away on the chalkboard outside which lowers the whole impression significantly.
It is one of those coffee shops where you wish it was snowing when you sit inside, just because it would make the whole picture perfect. I enjoyed a nice piece of cake and a good cup of coffee in a proper mug which delightfully wasn’t paper. All in all a good place for those who love Christmas and all things warm and cozy.
Hope you’ve enjoyed our rough guide.
