• Economical • Easy to install, reduces time spent in workshop • Easy to order, everything you need in one box.
What’s included? • The correct number of shock absorbers needed • 4 x shims, 1 or 1,5 mm depending on model • Pre-tensioning instructions
General tips
• Correct pre-tension of shock absorbers will double their life span • Rubber shock absorbers should not be stored for long periods • Do not change just one shock absorber at a time. A new shock absorber is much stiffer than used shock absorbers and will crack in a short time. Change at least all shock absorbers on one side of a drum at the same time • Used elements are softer than new shock absorbers and can be used as replacement shock absorbers even one at a time, as long as there are no cracks deeper than 25 mm (1 in.)

General installation tips
• To ensure the longest possible service life from the shock absorbers, it is absolutely necessary that they are pretensioned by 2-3 mm (0.08-0.12 in.) as done when the roller leaves the factory. • Make sure that there is sufficient pre-tension after reassembling a drum or after changing the shock absorbers. • If there is not enough tension, adjust by fitting shims of a suitable thickness between the drum bracket and the roller frame. On soil rollers this is normally only needed on the vibration side of the drum. • 4 x shims, 1 or 1,5 mm are included in the kit.

Correct pre-tension of shock absorbers:
CC Rollers excluding CC722 1. Insert bolts on the upper side of the fork on the drive side of the drum, tighten 2. Insert bolts on the upper side of the fork on the vibration side of the drum, don’t tighten as shims should be installed 3. Check the play between the frame and the fork. The measured value should be reduced (increased on CC224-624) with 2-3mm to achieve the correct pre-tension of the shock absorbers. This value should then be divided with two, and shims corresponding to this value should be installed on each side of the drum. 4. Tighten the drum fork bolts to the correct torque. CA Rollers and CC722 1. When reassembling a drum, jack the frame to the height of the drum brackets and tighten the bolts on one side of the drum. 2. Loosen one end of the cross beam (CA) or one fork (CC722), install a 3 mm shim between the frame and the cross beam (CA) or fork (CC722), tighten the bolts to the correct torque. 3. Check the play between the drum bracket and the frame on the opposite side, check the play at top and bottom. Install shims corresponding to the average value. 4. Repeat the procedure on the other side and install shims corresponding to the measured average value. Tighten the drum bracket bolts to correct torque. 5. Remove the 3 mm shim placed between the frame and the cross beam/fork and tighten the bolts to correct torque. 6. The total pre-tension of the shock absorber is now correct, and maximum lifetime can be expected.
