ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club (ABBC) Breweries get a unique opportunity to improve their business while contributing to the sustainable development of the industry
ALECTIA has introduced a new worldwide benchmarking scheme drawing on our experience from decades of consultancy to the brewing industry. By participating in the ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club you will gain knowledge on your performance compared to other breweries in the same category of size & region through a top level benchmarking. Participants receive an annual benchmark report, which helps you pinpoint areas for improvement in your operations. Participation is cost free, and all data is treated anonymously. The VISION of the ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club is To expand the knowledge base of the global beer and beverage industry, improving efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of the industry. By participating, you will contribute to the continued sustainable development of the brewing community. The MISSION of the ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club is To provide the individual brewery in the beer and beverage industry with a confidential and fact-based benchmarking of key performance indicators. To support this vision and mission, ALECTIA‘s unique brewing insight secures that the ABBC reporting is statistically valid, and we guarantee you complete anonymity.
Seven benchmarks – Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – are the basis of the ABBC:
· · · · · · ·
Extract loss Packaging utilisation Days of stock cover Electricity consumption Water consumption Heat consumption Productivity / full time employee output
Uniform KPI comparison is enabled by a firm definition of each KPI (included in the data submission Excel sheet). What ABBC delivers When participating in the ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club, your brewery will receive a benchmark report covering the continent and size to which it is submitted. The benchmark report will exclusively show the results of the KPIs submitted in the relevant category. Each brewery is sending its own benchmark report for showing the brewery’s performance in the industry KPI range. How the ABBC Team processes the data Each brewery will fall into one of the four plant size segments and their continent, as shown below. This allows for a more specific and fair comparison of data. The segments of plant size (hectoliters per year) for the ABBC are 0 – 100,000 100,000 – 1,000,000 1,000,000 – 3,000,000 3,000,000 + The continents for the ABBC are Africa, Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe It is not necessary to hand in data for all of the selected seven KPIs to participate in the ABBC, and each participant brewery is free to hand in those of the selected and presented KPIs they can deliver or have interest in. To enable the highest quality of reporting, the ABBC team reserves the right to adjust the stated categories, in order to secure a statistically valid benchmark report and publications. How to proceed To sign up for the ALECTIA Brewing Benchmark Club, fill out and submit a form. You will receive an Excel-sheet for data submission – fill it out and return it to ALECTIA for the benchmark report. The future success of the ABBC relies on a high number of participants, so please support! Supply Chain Network Design
In doubt how to balance your production and distribution network? Looking at supply chain costs, service levels and risks, have you got the most optimal network?
Supply Chain Network Design
Where to locate your next production and/or distribution centre? How to balance and manage your entire supply chain? The objective of a Supply Chain Network Design Analysis is to balance your entire supply chain - or part of it – working backwards from your expectations to your future markets, channels, customers, categories and product lines. Based on the above conditions and constraints, suppliers often question whether, where and when a new production facility should be added to the network, whether a distribution center should be established, or if the strategy is to go for a central warehouse structure compared to a de-centralized warehouse structure – just to mention some examples. ALECTIA´s Supply Chain Network Design Analysis provides you with the answer!
What is the benefit for you? Depending on the agreed scope you can get the answers to e.g. the following questions: · Where to locate my next production facility? · How should my distribution network set-up be? · What will be my future supply chain costs split on key areas? · What is the maximum potential for reducing my costs? · How should I operate it – where to locate stocks? · How to meet customer demand on service levels? · Where are the areas for improvement? How do we do it The ALECTIA team works on and off site and is in close daily contact with all levels of your organisation to ensure that no detail is overlooked. · We conduct interviews and workshops on site to establish objectives and planning assumptions. · We conduct regular status meetings to ensure alignment with your team regarding the developed solutions. · We have standardised templates for questionnaires in order to secure that all relevant information is collected in a standardised way. · We draw upon our best practice database housing knowledge collected over many years of supply chain projects. · We have all relevant tools available in order to provide the answer to your key questions. What ALECTIA delivers ALECTIA delivers a design book giving the overall supply chain concept including the physical network set-up – depending on agreed scope, as well as operational guidelines. How to proceed? Contact ALECTIA in order to improve your competitiveness through optimised supply chains and logistics.
