Presentation EPC @ Partners.inc is a research and development company in science and technology founded by Éric Le Ray and his team in June 2007 in Canada. It was incorporated in 2010, with its headquarters in Montreal and a European branch in France, represented by Franck Ferrandis. Along with his team of shareholders, Éric Le Ray is developing the field of research in cutting edge technology in the realm of media evolution: from printed publishing to electronic paper (E-ink) and electronic readers. These new media are part of the process of convergence and mobility.
His firm’s mission is to accompany the industrial development of these various media towards the new post-industrial economy and thereby understand the relevant mechanisms and implications vis-à-vis the traditional media. We seek to explain this development to publishing and news media professionals and, in a broader sense, to professionals in the traditional print and media sectors, to public and private institutions, and to private individuals. We also wish to understand how this technical revolution is experienced by the professionals in publishing and journalism, and more widely by all professionals in the graphic chain (printing and traditional media) both public and private. We are also analyzing the emergence of the new, entirely digital graphic chain and identifying its participants and their skill sets. The French and Canadian company EPC @ Partners.inc is the first in Canada to draw from associates in the graphic and communication industries as well as observers of this evolution. We propose different forms of intervention and expertise: CONSULTATION CONCERNING THE EVOLUTION OF THE GRAPHIC CHAIN, FROM PRINT TO DIGITAL • Support in the dematerialization of the graphic chain and the transfer of information. • Specialists and experts in graphic chains and electronic publishing. Case studies by request. MARKETING OF BRANDS AND COMMERCIALISATION • Distribution of electronic books and readers.

GENERAL PROGRAMME An inaugural symposium took place at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM) in Paris, France on March 12, 2009 to launch the book « La bataille de l’imprimé à l’ère du papier électronique » about today’s confrontation of paper versus electronic publishing, edited by les Presses de l’Université de Montréal. This book is the fruit of the collective effort of some thirty specialists and of research by Éric Le Ray, fthe founder of EPC @ Partners.inc.. The international scale of EPC @ Partners.inc’s work takes form today in the organization of the international forum E-PaperWorld. After the 1st edition in Montreal in September 2009 and again in Paris in May 2010, the E-Paper World forum is back in Montreal for its third edition. The international forum on electronic books, readers, their applications and intelligent media, convergence and mobility will take place on December 1, 2 and 3, 2010 at the Université du Québec à Montréal in the same rooms as in the first edition. In this forum, EPC @ Partners.inc offers an innovative trade show with demonstrations, and an environment where professionals and the public can meet and discuss. All visitors can attend the conferences and round tables
E-Paper World is the first event of its kind in Europe and North America. It aims to help a wide public adopt this technological revolution by introducing them professionals and researchers and the new electronic readers that are already on the market and others still in development.
