e-PaperWorld 2009 Taking stock of the 1rst International Print & E-book Forum: convergence and mobility Following the CNAM (Paris) Seminar on “the print industry struggle in the e-paper era”, the first International Print, E-book, intelligent player & smart applications forum took place at UQAM in Montréal, Canada, from 30th September to 1st October 2009. With this event of international dimension, the city of Montréal has become a strategic communication hub for the major actors in the high-tech E-paper, intelligent readers, publishing and graphic industries, allowing them to gather, meet, exchange ideas and create new synergies. 9 Roundtables and 20 Conferences gathering the best specialists were devoted to discussing the prospects and socio-economic applications of the E-paper revolution. E-paperWorld was thus the first forum to analyse in depth the issues and progress realized so far in this new and innovative field. 40 professional stands, representing key companies and institutions of the E-paper sector, added to the trade show, for the benefit of the public. We would like to thank our partners and our visitors. They have helped us achieve our goal, to make of this first Forum of its kind, a true success. We are looking forward to renewing and expanding this success with our next Fora, which will take place in Paris and Montréal in 2010.
