Welcome to E-Struct Junior Engineers! Hi kids and parents! Thanks for joining our group! We’re thrilled to bits to be promoting science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities and happenings for kids. Here’s a quick outline of how our group began. During National Science Week and Australian Engineering Week we ran a couple of giveaways to promote science and engineering skills for kids through our engineering business e-struct. This was well received by our clients and Engineers Australia and National Science Week coordinators. We formed the kids' club about a month ago after I finished publishing our company newsletter featuring an article about what

fascinated us about Science as kids. I turned to Jade, our receptionist, and said we need to create a facebook page for kids that profiles what's happening in our community for kids who like Science. She brilliantly suggested that we evolve this idea and form a group. Now at four hundred members, we’re so happy to see people support Science interests for kids. In any Our wonderful guinea pigs (our kids) had community, it’s easier to a ball exploring STEM ideas during the find Sport, Dance, Music and Art groups than to find September holidays at the e-struct office! activities promoting SciFor more photos and a list of experiments ence. What is STEM? STEM stands for Science Technologies Engineering and Mathema cs and is just a handy acronym used to group these pursuits together. Last year the Australian government commi ed $12 Million to restore and improve STEM programs in schools including: introducing computer coding in primary school, running Summer school ac vi es with the

especial focus of suppor ng girls ,indigenous and remote students and disadvantaged students in building their skills, rethinking the way that Maths is taught to kids and introducing a Pathways in Technology program in high school. We value kids loving these skills and want to share the fun of exploring STEM ideas with you.
