PRINT & PATTERN

INSPIRATION

Using the Kaledo print, knit and weave programs, I created a collection of my own patterns. The recurring theme in my design process is the loneliness and unexplored depths of the ocean. In order to create that feeling in my designs I used many dark, brooding shades, but give a hint of color to show the enlightenment that can come from the calm of the water.

BLOUSE DESIGN

INSPIRATION

This blouse features a back closure collar, cuffs with button closures, princess seams, and a hand beaded pearl collar. It is made of 100% cotton material for the underlay and 100% nylon material for the overlay. The goal of this project was to create a blouse using our own sloper pattern.

PANT DESIGN

INSPIRATION

This pair of pants features a back yoke, a fly zipper, angled front pockets with a contrasting interior, and back patch pockets. It is made of 100% cotton denim material. The goal of this project was to create a pair of pants using our own pattern. I altered my sloper pattern to make flared pants with a front crease.

REFASHIONED

INSPIRATION

The materials used were a tablecloth and an oversized shirt from St. Vincent De-Paul. The goal of this assignment was to find products at St. Vincent DePaul and refashion them into a design of our choosing. Frankie Lymon’s song Little Bitty Pretty One, covered in 1958, inspired me to make a fifties style dirndl and a front tie midrif shirt.

CHILDREN’S WEAR

INSPIRATION

The small girl’s dress features a back button closure, a floral patterned yoke, and an eyelet body with a scalloped hem. The big girl’s dress features a center back zipper, an eyelet body, and a drop waist with a floral pattern ruffled bottom. Both are made of 100% cotton, eyelet and printed. Designed to be fun Spring dresses for young girls.
