A GROUP OF 149 Beechcraft aircraft — 128 Bonanzas, 20 Barons, and one Twin Bonanza — took off Saturday from Rockford, Illinois, planning to land en masse at about 1 p.m. on the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh grounds and unofficially break their own record of the largest formation of civilian aircraft.

WWI CENTENNIAL HIGHLIGHTED Birth of Royal Air Force also marked in high style BY JAMES WYNBRANDT
EAA AIRVENTURE OSHKOSH 2018 is commemorating twin centenaries that mark pivotal moments in the history of aviation: the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I and the founding of the Royal Air Force (RAF). Both are being celebrated in grand Oshkosh style, replete with an unprecedented gathering of historic aircraft, engine run-ups, flight demonstrations, forums, and more throughout the week.
