BLUE EY ECONS The Blue Eyecons washes are among our lengthiest treatments, mostly by hand and they are all made i n I t a l y. T h a t ’ s w h y w e c o n s i d e r t h e m i m m u t a b l e treasures and the most important ambassadors of D ie s el’s 3 0 ye a r s o f d e n i m t r e a t m e nt e x p e r t i s e .
GOLDEN SHADE
The washes are the 882F QUA DRODENIM, with a special weft made by a merge of organic cotton and lyocell and warp made by a merge of organic cotton and polyester; the 882D, a unique left hand denim w ith a super sof t touch; and finally the 8 81Z , created with a double foam treatment which gives this unique mixed nuance of blue.
This wash is identified by the code 880W and is one of the most impressive of the collection. It is immediately recognizable due to its brilliant colours and dramatic shades o f b l u e . T h e b r i g h t n e s s i s g u a r a n t e e d b y t h e “ S H A D O W T R E A T M E N T ”: t h e a p p l i c a t i o n o f a product that makes the indigo fade away and creates special shades of light blue and white, providing the perfect “used” effect.

T h e “ic e wa s h” i s c h a r a c t e r i z e d by w h it e s p ot s t h a t a p p e a r r a n d o m l y o n t h e d e n i m’s surface. A whitening product is applied during the second step of the washing process, bleaching away the indigo and creating a unique surface, which look at its best when it ove rl a p s w it h a r e a s w he r e t he sh a d ow wa sh i s s t r onge r. T he t r e at m e nt , e n h a nc e d by t he reaction of the red cast fabric used, is finalized by manual abrasions, as well as the 3D EVOLUTION and the GOLDEN treatments. S i n c e t h e i n t r o d u c t i o n o f t h i s n e w t e c h n i q u e i n S S11, it h a s b e c o m e o n e o f D ie s el’s mo s t r e f i n e d ye t a f for d a ble wa s h e s . It is an evolution of the traditional 3D whiskering process, which delivers a naturally used effect not only on the upper part of the pant, but also on the k nees and ank les. The pant is sprayed and manually moulded with resins on mannequins in order to obtain the desired “scrunchy” and “t w isted leg” effects. A s a last step the denim is dried on the mannequin at high temperatures to make the treatment permanent. The essential washes using this technique a r e t h e 8 8 0 I , 8 8 1 V , 8 Q P, 8 Q Q a n d t h e 8 8 0 G .
GOLDEN A PPLE This wash, also known as 880M, is characterized by a surface d i r t y w a s h c a l l e d “ A P P L E W A S H ”. I t b e l o n g s t o a n e w g e n e r a t i o n of dirty washes that only sticks to or penetrates the fabric on some parts of the garment, creating a truly natural used effect.
3D EVOLU TION
The originalit y and the aged look are emphasized by a second step of the treatment during which the 3D whiskers on the upper part are manually exaggerated and made everlasting with touches of grey applied through a specific brush.

GOLDEN FROST Due to the highly technological nature of this wa shing process, it i s o n e o f o u r s t a r t r e a t m e n t s . O n t h i s d e n i m (c o d e 74 M ) o n e o f t h e first steps is the traditional 3D whiskering process, after which the denim is manually abraded and exposed to a golden treatment.

Next, a brand new technique called “FROST” is applied to the s u r fa c e . It i s a n e volut io n o f t h e t r a d it io n a l “gold e n t r e a t m e nt ” involving the use of circular golden brushwork on the garment. This complex treatment requires an abilit y to create a random yet clear design that resembles natural dir t y spot s. T he name “frost” derives from the fact that the dirty spots look as if they were frozen – not washed. This process is also one of the longest due to its manual ele m e nt s: it t a k e s mor e t h a n 4 0 m i nut e s o f h a r d l a b ou r p e r p a i r.

It includes a 3D Evolution treatment and its weft is made w i t h “ L Y O C E L L”, a n a t u r a l c e l l u l o s e f i b r e m a d e o f n a t u r a l cellulose that guarantees high durabilit y and resistance a n d u n p a r a l l e l e d b r e a t h a b i l i t y. P e r f e c t f o r p e o p l e w i t h sensitive sk in while maintaining the appeal of the new DNA of washes.

This family completes the offer of seasonal key items, with new fresh washes that are suitable for ever y occasion. 880N is a 12 ½ oz. vintage grey indigo with 3D whiskers, a golden treatment and finally a secret dirty treatment that gives the denim a characteristic dust effect. 880F is a 12 ¼ oz. original pure dark indigo. It ha s a unique look due to the 3D whiskering process, a traditional golden bath and manual abrasions. 8 8 2 V i s t r e a t e d w i t h t h e “ S H A D O W ”, t h e s a m e b l e a c h i n g p r o c e s s u s e d o n t h e 8 8 0 W, which gives the denim a strong shiny effect. Its is a ver y bright blue w ith a deeper blue contra st. The 8QM is our latest TURBODENIM – but with an important plus: it has a real selvedge, which means it will not fray or ravel and it has been made using more traditional shuttle looms.
