This project was inspired by the diversity of form and creation of identity within a given frame of screens in a Chinese garden. Volumetric and sectional studies led to a building form which accomodates a diversity of recreational activities while preserving local views to Puget Sound. Project: Urban community + recreation center Site: Western Ave + Vine Street, Seattle Scope: 25,000 SF, 10 weeks

The Health Hinge is a response to the need for medical relief for both acute needs following a disaster and chronic needs that plague developing nations. A medical core can be standardized and shipped, then adapted to local cultural and climatic conditions. Project: Disaster relief + chronic care unit Site: Katesh, Tanzania Scope: 1,200 SF, 6 weeks

The rural agricultural community space of the Grange Hall is adapted to the modern city to support the long-term development of a community food system. The complex topic of urban food is explored through the intersection of local food infrastructure, community space, and urban agriculture. Project: Urban community food system Site: Market Street, Inglewood, CA Scope: 15,000 SF, 9 months
