FATHER DAUGHTER DUO DAVID DIGGS AND RACHEL DIGGS-SEYMOUR

Ten years ago, a road trip through Seattle, Portland, and several other cities brought Rachel Diggs-Seymour and her family to Idaho. They stopped in Boise to visit Rachel’s aunt and decided to make the move to Eagle themselves. Recently, her father, David Diggs, has moved to Eagle as well.

“We are excited about the quality of life in Eagle, and for the chance to join our daughter Rachel, her husband, their five children, my wife’s sister and husband, and her mother, so it was a no-brainer,” said David. “We are loving it and find all the people so friendly!”

Both talented musicians, Rachel and David have each accomplished great things in the industry. In fact, one of Rachel’s songs Hands of Time was featured on the hit TV show Pretty Little Liars and has amassed more than 2.4 million views on YouTube!

David is enjoying the semi-retired life after 45 years in the industry, specifically arranging and producing music for Pat Boone and others. “I also had a top 10 Billboard jazz album in the mid-80s featuring major jazz stars like Lee Ritenour.”

Being in the same state for the first time in nearly a decade gave the father-daughter duo an opportunity to perform together. On September 1, the duo played live at Rembrandt’s in Eagle and if you weren’t able to catch that performance, stay tuned as they have many more musical endeavors lined up. Another notable feat from the duo is the creation of the album “Black Coffee,” which is a jazz American songbook. “This was the first time we have played together in many years. It was great to be singing with my dad again!” Rachel reflects. “We have been performing live since I was about 17 years old, and it was hard not to be down in LA still playing music together. I have also been so busy raising these kids and have barely had time to even think about getting creative.”

Back together again, each plan to try and make time for music. While Rachel’s primary focus is motherhood, she aspires to write and perform more frequently. David plans to do more arranging and orchestration and would like to give back to the community through music education.
