Nelson Preservation Associates (NPA) was formed in 2019 to revitalize the Nelson Corners area by restoring historic buildings and providing economic opportunities in a community center atmosphere.

The group was recently been awarded a $17,506 grant from the Oneida Savings Bank Charitable Foundation group to fund a water quality treatment system on site as required by New York State Code.

Studio apartments currently in the historic tavern building would then be relocated to the barn, enabling the tavern building to be restored to its original purpose as a drover’s tavern.

The NPA team is working on several local and national grant opportunities to realize these goals.
