Located high in the Colorado Rockies, the Eagle County School District is an innovative system comprised of 850 enthusiastic professionals who engage 6,524 students enrolled from preschool through the 12th grade. Visited by Bill and Melinda Gates in 2012, the District has been heralded as a model for the Nation in terms of measuring the success of students and teachers. Eagle Valley High School ranked in the top 10% of high schools across the Nation for career and college readiness. The District has had three Principals of the Year in Colorado, one Superintendent of the Year, and one English Language Learner Director of the Year. Two schools have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools. Two schools are John Irwin Schools of Excellence for 2012; three schools received Governor’s Distinguished Improvement awards in 2012.
