EAGLE’S NEST FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT
2014
Dear Eagle’s Nesters, It is with deep gratitude to you, our supporters and volunteers that we embark on 2015 with clear direction and solid footing. 2014 was a year of planning strategizing, and building a path to our vision of Eagle’s Nest as she reaches 100 years old in 2027. At the March planning retreat we used your input to shape our discussions with the Board of Trustees and Staff, and are now actively engaged in action steps to meet those priorities. 2014 was also a year with healthy enrollment across all programs. A total of 567 campers, 46 OA students and 30 Hante Adventurers learned what it means to live in community, be good stewards to nature, pique their intellect in new ways, and create joyful moments every day. Your support of the Annual Fund made it possible for 121 of these young people to be granted financial aid totaling $215,655. This aid made possible many dreams. Your support also helped us to better our infrastructure. We replaced the roof on the New Lodge (yes it is still metal), built a new composting system up by the barn, and tackled many other smaller building needs. Several of you put your eyes to the future; filling our ranks of esteemed planned givers and helping us grow our endowed funds. I encourage you to read more inside this report about our ongoing strategic initiatives. Your contributions of ideas, time, and financial support are integral in moving Eagle’s Nest forward and making these experiences available for all. With admiration and gratitude to each of you who do so much for our Nest,
Noni Waite-Kucera Executive Director
“I know in my heart that her roots are strong because of how she was shaped while at The Outdoor Academy and I believe that she’s been given the gift of endurance and self-reliance. She has grown and matured, she is more grounded and can see more clearly, she is wiser and more in tune with herself. - OA Parent, Fall Semester 2014
