he month of February brings many things; sports, fashion and love. This edition, we have covered them all. In Lifestyle, we will discuss whether your money is really worth well-known brands of clothes and coffee (surprising results in a blind taste test) or if you are better off spending your money elsewhere. We will also surprise you with the amount of 80s style hiding in your own closet. Every Eagle has had an embarrassing moment or two here in these hallways; see the funniest accidents on page 9. February also means basketball season; see what your team has to say about this year’s student section and meet the senior line up in Sports. Check out some interesting facts on familiar faces in our Spotlight section. We also have an InDepth look on the recent hate crimes and violence everyone’s been buzzing about. We also took a student poll to see what is better: the new or old Disney channel. Are you a Target or Walmart person? See the staff’s boy vs. girl opinion. Lastly, get all your need-to-know information on wrestling season.

coffee
Comparison Story by Kennah Evilsizer Photos and Design by Baileigh Arant offee is a very popular drink for many teens in high school. Senior Tori Nathan, junior Cris Kidd, and freshman Abby Dutton did a blind coffee taste test during Eagle Hour on January 26. There were three clear cups numbered one, two, and three, all with mochas in them. Cup one had Caribou, cup two had Starbucks, and cup three had QuikTrip. “If I had to pick one I would pick number three because it has more of a sweeter taste,” freshman Abby Dutton said. Cup number three with the QuikTrip Kitchen coffee was the cheapest out of the three places and was liked better than the more expensive Starbucks. “If I had to pick one I would pick number three because it was stronger and more rich,” junior Cris Kidd said.

Blind taste-testing popular coffee brands
While the Caribou coffee was not as popular as QuikTrip, it still beat out the more popular contender, Starbucks. “If I had to pick, I would pick number one because it was stronger to me and I liked it,” senior Tori Nathan said. Coffee number two which was Starbucks was the least favorite and was the most expensive and more well known of the three for coffee. The most popular was cup number three with the QuikTrip coffee but 7/10 people get fountain drinks in the morning rather than coffee. For all of the coffee lovers out there, try the QuikTrip Kitchen for some cheap coffee that two out of three people liked more than the popular Starbucks variety.
“If I had to pick one, I would pick number three because it was stronger and more rich,” junior Cris Kidd said.

hen money is tight, but there is acraving to have those designer clothes, know there is a cheaper and affordable way to create similar styles. “I go shopping pretty often. Maybe like every weekend, but sometimes it is just to look and see what is out there,” junior Mckenzie Harlan said. In the category of jewelry those $125 Silver Pave Hoops, Kmart has similar looking earrings for $11.99 and are still stylish. “I take pride in having nice jewelry like my class ring, opal ring, gold necklace with pearl pendent and pearl earrings, so I like to get the more expensive ones,” Harlan said. Loving bangles can be difficult when ones like ‘Lucite’ Skinny Tapered Bangles cost up to $70. Places like Wal-Mart offer bangle bracelets for only $18. Front tie blouses have made a vast comeback within the past year. Brands like the Ella Moss Front Tie Blouse can cost up to $104, where people can get a look-a-like blouse at Wal-Mart for $12.88. “I would prefer to buy an off brand shirt that is

still good quality” junior Emily Lute said. If one is tired of paying $40-$50 for a pair of jeans, places like Wal-Mart or Target have good quality and cheaper jeans. American Eagle flare jeans are $44.95 while Wal-Mart has similar ones for $13.88. “I would most likely go to Target or some place to get decent quality look a like jeans that are still cute,” Lute said. Good quality winter boots are often a must, especially when the new style boots come in. Ugg Australia boots sell for about $155 when Target sells just about the same quality boots for $29.74. “I spend the money on Uggs because they won’t fall apart easily like other boots do, and when you walk in the snow and they get wet, they don’t show a white line afterwards when they dry like regular boots do” junior Riley Kirtley said. A Rick Owens Crinkle Scarf can vastly burn a hole in someone’s wallet costing $395, when very similar looking scarves are at Target for $16.99 in multiple colors and patterns.
the comeback trends
rending styles for teens can change every year due to advertisement, popular figures, and social media. Styles from the 70s, 80s, and even 90s seem to reflect on today’s trends. “A couple things that I still see today are guys fashion; when I was in high school, guys used to tight roll their pants, and that was the cool thing to do. Now today they make pants that already have the cuffed bottoms,” science teacher Andrew Bilen said. Cuffed pants today can be seen in joggers, prerolled skinny jeans, and other fashionable bottoms. Not only are boy’s trends making a comeback, but also there has been a huge increase in old fashion in today’s women clothing. “Things I see today are Converse, high waisted shorts, and fanny packs have came back. Also high waisted bikinis,” junior Sierra Duncan said. These styles get recycled; make a few tweaks, and they keep coming back. Designers look back on what worked in the past, and put those ideas in the clothes people see in stores today. “When I was in high school, legwarmers were the big thing. Now they’ve made a comeback. Style that is today is the 80s completely, only revisited and revised. Styles always do that. So basically, the 80s were high patterns, cuffed pants, and high waisted shorts, they’re all coming back,” teacher Chablis Brendel said. These styles can be seen in any mall, thrift, or super store. They are also publicized all over the Internet, T.V. and seen through out teens today. 2015 has a lot in store for the comebacks of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

“We were in advisory for LINK and we were all bored so we decided to play duck duck goose in the Fieldhouse. It was my first time in the Fieldhouse and I didn’t know that the floors were slippery so when it was my turn I got up and started running full speed. When I went around the turn my shoes had a ton of dust on them so I did a Billy Butler style slide and fell on my face in front of everyone,” freshman David Garcia said.

Yelling really loud during school hours.
“It all happened when I was in theater class last semester and I was doing an improv scene with one of my friends. I was supposed to be the goody two-shoes student and he was the bad student. My friend decided he was going to try and escape in this scene so I yelled ‘teacher, he’s trying to escape,’ I guess I shouted a little too loudly. A few moments later Mr. Chatlos walks in and asked if we needed help. He seemed upset when I explained nobody really was trying to escape,” freshman Michael Gallup said.
Having five main staircases in the school, there are plenty of opportunities to trip multiple times a day.
“I have been at North for three years and I think I have fallen down the main spiral stairs five or six times. I am a very clumsy person and I know each time besides maybe once or twice I have taken someone down with me. It’s not just a couple of stairs that I stumble down, I fall down the entire thing. It’s just embarrassing. That’s just the spiral stairs, I have done the same thing countless times on the stairs in the hallways as well. It is awful,” senior Mikaela Bell said. eaglesviewonline.com | February 2015

t home sporting events, North Nation comes together to cheer the team on to victory in seas of navy, white, and gold. The student section is loud and energetic, and the cheers and chants echo throughout the fieldhouse. “The student section brings an immeasurable amount of energy to the team and is a key part of our success,” junior Joe Barry said. The student section brings everyone together to cheer for friends and give students a whole new experience at games. Various themes are planned and carried out by students, such as USA, suits and sneakers, and orange out, and their voices come together as one when the game begins. “One of the biggest things they [the student section] do is provide us energy. They have a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of energy, and that translates to the team, gets them excited and helps their energy level. There’s also pride, when you’ve got that many people, the kind of student section that we’ve had in numbers with that many people there, I think our guys want to perform well in front of their peers. I think those two things make
A
it a really big home court advantage,” coach Chris McCabe said. The student section is led by seniors who start cheers and take the theme to a whole new level. Themes are discussed with the Sports Marketing team and planned throughout the season. Senior Jackson Jones gets the cheers going, and he wants the student section to be bigger and better. “The main way I think we can improve it is by filling it up more and more. The more students the better! It makes it more fun for everybody if there are a lot of people there. I have been told by a few friends of mine on the basketball team that they actually play better when there is a big crowd at home. When you think about that, I mean everyone should want to go to the games,” Jones said. Being a part of the student section is a way to be closer to classmates and make memories throughout high school. More students means a bigger voice, and North Nation can be even louder with the help of everyone. “The bigger the student section the better!” Jones said.

wins Lilly and Stevie Sieren are both involved in many overlapping extracurricular activities inside and outside of the classroom, but both sisters remember different moments that have left memorable impressions on them. “A few moments that stand out to me would be running on the state team my sophomore year, getting a l rating at state, and am also involved in religious education, private violin lessons, community service, including soup kitchen, highway clean up, food pantry, and Love Inc.,” junior Lilly Sieren said. Both Lilly and Stevie manage to balance school ith sports as they both run cross country. Stevie is very involved in sports, and she won the Golden Eagle award her sophomore year. “I was proud of going to state last year for cross country. I got my personal record last year which was 22:20. This year, our times were closer, so there was some friendly competition,” Stevie Sieren said. Overlapping in so many activities and sports would normally lead to a sense of stress and little time for friends and family. The Sieren twins have only gotten closer as their high school careers advance. “I believe all the things we do together make us closer. I’ve never really felt competitive with her when she excels at something. I’m just unbelievably proud of her,” Lilly Sieren said. Stevie and Lilly who, together, excel and achieve goals unreachable by many. Hard work and encouragement is what makes these twins inseparable, even in their future plans. “We’ve always been very close and regarding majors I’m looking at engineering and Lilly is looking at pharmacy. We won’t be going the same college, however if I go to Iowa State and she goes to Iowa we will only be 2 hours away,” Stevie Sieren said.

n today’s world, the hardest thing to do is balance your family, friends, job, school, and anything else in all under 24 hours. For social studies teacher Doug Davis, he manages to plan everything out accordingly. “I get up and work out every morning, I have a quiet time or devotional time, than I get to work. After work, I usually have some type of kid activity that we’re doing something for our children and have family time. I end my day with a devotional,” Davis said. Starting next year, Davis is going to have a whole new problem of what school he’s going to cheer for. But with. Davis, it always comes down to family. “I have a son here and I also have a daughter who will be going to Liberty High school next year, so we’ll kind of be a split family,” Davis said. Even when relaxing, Davis is constantly thinking of his family. Most of the time though Davis would prefer it not to be bitter cold outside. “I can’t stand winter. I enjoy summer very much because we travel and get time with family. Actually, anything with the sun and warmth, especially when a beach is involved, would be very nice. But, pretty much, any down time I have is with something family,” Davis said. Along with his family and his busy schedule, he always finds time to do what he loves. “I’m the head girls tennis coach and assistant boys golf coach. I also play a lot of golf. I absolutely love McDonalds coke so hint hint if anyone wants to bring me a nice surprise.” Davis said. Davis does much for both his family and Liberty North. But even with his busy schedule with his Job, family, sports, or vacation time Davis still tries to be there and teach important lessons to his students.

aving a parent that is a cop is not exactly an unusual thing here, as many students have police officers as parents. In the thick of all the crime and violence going on around the United States right now, police officers’ families have to find ways to cope and understand the danger their family members face each and everyday. “It is definitely kind of scary to have my dad out there, because people get this idea in their head that cops are bad, when lots of times they are still husbands and dads, and it is really scary to have to have them go out there and do stuff for people that treat them that way,” junior Madalyn Riley said. Police officers’ kids may worry about their parents, but they can also tend to get more insight about what is going on. “Having my dad as a cop gives me more of an insight on what it is actually like, because all people know is what the media lets you know, and that is usually a little distorted so it kind of gives you a different perspective on what actually goes on,” Riley said. The recent problems between police officers and some citizens have raised more awareness of the dangers police officers face day after day. “They [things such as Ferguson] have affected my fathers life

because violence on the streets has gone up, so it is a lot more dangerous for cops to be on the streets,” sophomore Nolan Warne said. It can be difficult for police officers as well. Day after day, they put themselves in the line of fire to serve and protect citizens. “The hardest part, about being a cop, would probably be making split second decisions, then having to explain those decisions after you’ve made them. Justifying what you did. There’s a small window of decision making time, but then there’s multitudes of scenarios that you would have to explain and there’s no time after it is all over to second guess yourself or have somebody else second guess,” Street Crimes Unit Tactical Operator Wes Lambright said. Lambright has been a part of KCPD for seven years now. For some students, it can be eye opening to have a police officer as a parent. They not only see the media’s perspective of the issue, they see the cop’s perspective as well. “Since my dad’s a cop, he has brought the conflicts home with him. So, I can understand how serious this all really is, and it is not a joke,” sophomore Nick Schoen said.

With violence increasing around the United States, police officers have started to shield their families from the all the dangers and protests. “My dad is more aware of what is going on, and makes an effort to keep us away from those things, he tries to shelter us more now than before,” Warne said. For those high school students who do not have parents as police officers, some of the recent struggles going on around the United States have made them more leery around police officers. “It has just made me more aware of my surroundings, and I am more on guard of what I am doing. I make sure what I am doing is not suspicious to a cop,” junior Syd Shumate said. Media has played a large role in the recent feuds affecting the United States. Some media has started to downgrade police officers and their line of work. “I would like for high school students to know that not all police are bad. I think that there are bad people in all walks of life whether you are a police officer, a doctor, a lawyer, or a garbage man, or whatever… A police officer is a person that is trying to help and they want to make a difference in their community. The biggest thing is to not let media paint a picture of what police officers are,” KCPD’s Gang Unit Detective Aaron Clark said.
After the death of 15-year-old Adam Sheikh Hussein, which the FBI are calling a hate crime, after he was run over outside his mosque because of his religion. Fellow students at Staley High School have started the ‘Enough is Enough’ movement. They held a walk on February 7, to help spread a message of kindness and love.
How has this accident affected your school as a whole? “It brought everyone together, it showed a better side of everyone in this school, we see kindness, and people standing up for others when they are being put down” Staley student senior Ali Harb said.
brWhat utadoliyou ty want people to take away from this walk, and
what do you want them to do with that information? “We want people to be more educated about hate crimes, so in the future we can replace hate with love, and hopefully in that future we will have accomplished this,” Staley student senior Kahluna Bouchard said. Do you have any one from the outside community coming to help you with the peace walk? “We have news stations, support from the mayor (won’t be able to make it to the walk), other schools like your own, and other community organizations coming in and setting up information tables like the urban league of Kansas City, the special olympics, and the sheriff’s department. It’s not all about hate crimes, our focus is to help people find the help they need, we are trying to make the world and better and safe place,” Bouchard said. Do you have any plans to further impact the community beyond the peace walk that you already have planned and if so what would that be? “After the peace walk we hope to continue to raise awareness against hate crimes, but all we are trying to accomplish here is to touch peoples lives, and we are going to continue to do that until we can’t do any more,” Bouchard said. If you could give people advice from what you have learned since this crime, what would that be? “Don’t judge a book by its cover, don’t judge someone by their race, we are all the same beneath the skin we all just think differently, and even they aren’t the same they shouldn’t be hurt for it,” Harb said.

Old Disney “I like Old Disney because it gives the viewers a chance to experience a happy ever after even if it isn’t as realistic as the New Disney,” junior Janessa Johnson said.
VS
New Disney “I like new Disney because it gives a new and fresh interpretation on a happy ever after that is gained by hard work and is mostly based on the thinkings of today’s society,” junior Jessica Edlin said.
Most Liberty North students grew up watching Disney Channel shows and movies. Over the years Disney channel has changed, but is still familiar. Because the content of Disney Channel shows and movies has changed, many students have different opinions about which version of Disney Channel shows and movies they like better. “I prefer old Disney because they are just more down to earth and original although I like new Disney because it’s more relatable to our daily lives,” freshmen Olivia Goodmon said. Over the years, Disney Channel has changed to correspond with more reality rather than fantasy. “I like that old Disney was very classy and gave girls a man to hope to meet someday. I also like that new Disney shows that you don’t need a man to be happy (even though it helps at times),” junior Meagan Quin said.

“I like uplifting song lyrics more than others because music really affects your mood so if you’re having a bad day, it can cheer you up,” sophomore Anna Floyd said.

Love, Rosie VS
ritten in millions of novels, songs, and movies is the stereotypical depiction of the boy/girl friendship that turns into something more as they grow older. Love, Rosie is perfectly explained with this sentence. Love, Rosie is a witty, cute love story all told in letters (epistolary) between the main characters Rosie and Alex all the way from kindergarten until they are forty years old and living in different countries. With every obstacle thrown their way, through marriages and divorces, various jobs changes, and every other problem they face, they still maintain contact and stay as close of friends as ever. This book definitely keeps readers on the edge of their seats, always wondering what will happen next and when Alex and Rosie will finally realize they are meant for each other.

he movie version of Love, Rosie came out quite recently with Lily Collins starring as Rosie, and Sam Claflin as Rosie’s partner in crime, Alex. The movie version had a few major differences when compared to the book. Some of the events and parts of the book that had been left out of the movie seemed very important. Some of the events that were included in the book, but not the movie, were so crucial in order to see Rosie’s strength, and contributed to her growth as a person. Collins and Claflin played the parts wonderfully and portrayed the characters I had thought of when reading the book. This movie included the letters between Rosie and Alex, but had a more modern twist on it, using online chatting and texting, while the book used mostly traditional letters and email.
T
verall, I thought the book and movie were both well written and directed. In my personal opinion, I believed the movie was better. The book was all in letter format, with no real writing of the story, which led to confusing lapses in time where the reader was not sure when the events were taking place. By the end of the book, after all of the problems and lack of good timing, you really start to think they will not end up together. All in all, both the movie and book version were definitely worth reading and seeing, and I would recommend both for anyone looking for a sweet, heartwarming, yet very funny love story between best friends.

college fever Column by Hannah Richardson
nd so it begins: the getting older, almost in college, not knowing what I want to do with the rest of my life freak-out. My constant need to plan out every last detail usually comes in handy when handling crisis, but the college crisis is much too large for my little mind to control. Unfortunately, fear of the future has gotten the best of me. As a junior in high school, I understand the need to plan out my future so I will be better prepared for life to come, but what if I have no what I want to do or where I want to go? The pressure lingers as teachers and peers constantly question us about managing life in the real world as it is thrown at us full speed ahead. Truth is, I have got nothing. No elaborate plans, no solid career choice, but also no time to worry. I am known to worry – a lot. And surprise, surprise, worrying does absolutely no good. So for now college will be a thought I will store away until further notice. Yes, college is a big deal; packing up my life and moving it seven hours away sounds pretty terrifying right about now. But, we all have to go through change in life, whether we like it or not. The experience of college will forever change my life, but however overwhelming the future may be – whether it be college, the military, or some other life decision – I know it will change us for the better. No need for the pointless stress, how about we just settle as a simple hot mess?

wrapping up
Column by Dylan Morgan
he most repeated sports story of the month is finally starting to wrap up. ESPN and co. has ran this story into the ground, and you would have to be living under a rock to miss it. Deflate-gate, originally reporting how 11 of the 12 of the New England Patriot’s balls were deflated in the NFC Championship against the Indianapolis Colts by two pounds. Fast forward a couple weeks and the Patriot’s have won the Super Bowl, a cause for many to cry in outrage over the possibility that the Patriot’s got away with cheating. If this were true, there is no doubt that Bill Belicheck and the Patriots should be appropriately fined, and possibly lose a couple of draft picks. Although, this does not appear to be true. What ESPN has not been so quick to point out, is the development of the case. ESPN reported 11 of the 12 balls were two pounds underinflated, some facts have come out. Only one of the twelve balls was actually underinflated by two pounds, and it was a Colt’s ball. There were only two balls underinflated by about a pound, while the remaining balls were right at the NFL permitted limit. Cold weather deflates balls, the same thing that causes your basketballs to go flat in the winter is the same thing that probably caused a majority of these balls to be underinflated. I think this story became vastly over exaggerated with media to blame. It is a shame that ESPN and the like ran with the story as fact before they allowed the investigation to develop. And it is a shame that this poor reporting might take away something from the New England Patriot’s who no doubt deserve this Super Bowl.

eing someone who needs to save every extra dime, I shop at Walmart for all of my food and necessities. Almost everyday I get ordered to drive about two miles to the nearest Walmart and pick up whatever it is that my friends, coach, or family needs. While others may disagree, Walmart is guaranteed to provide the best deals. This is crucial when stocking up on the absolute best snacks and goods. I always find Walmart to be very helpful when I need to find something in particular, and they have everything you can think of in a hundred different brands; making it more optional for the consumer. Overall the production, service, and quality of Walmart exceeds what I need for everyday life and I can not see any other way to shop. I recommend Walmart to not only people wanting to save some extra cash, but also people looking for quality products and the absolute best deals. Walmart is the place to be.

hhh, Target. Strolling into Target is a lot walking into your grandma’s house; Full of knick-knacks and candy and surprises and good food and weird medicine and decor. Greeted by smiling faces and the well-known aisles, Target is the go-to store for anything you might need. From medicine to groceries to that next cute pair of “I have these in 3 other colors but what’s one more pair?” sandals; Target’s where it is at. With the coveted 1 dollar section, Target can be considered the Holy Grail of knick-knacks to make you smile or to add to a gift. With the marvelous Market Pantry Target brand (I recommend the plain gummy bears), Target offers just the right backup product for everything one’s heart desires. Target is THE place to go for that next outfit, or guilty-pleasure cookies, or a “just thinking of you” gift or dorm supplies or really anything at all! If you want it, chances are, Target’s got it. So take a drive off into the sunset, and buy whatever it is you need at your local Holy Grail...or um.. Target.

f you have not heard of the so-called “worldwide phenomenon” that is Fifty Shades of Grey, I envy you. As for the rest of us, hopefully we can survive this historical blight. I am sure there are tons of articles criticizing the misogynistic, sadistic subject matter of this heinous book, but I hope to take less feministic approach in my criticism. Why? Because women are the ones who wrote this and read this. Therefore, it can only lead to one main outcome: women developing unrealistic expectations towards men. Are you going to meet a super rich, super hot guy who falls instantly in love with you, has a dark secret only you can fix, and has—um—sex appeal? No. No, no, no; that is not reality, and women should not expect such utter absurdity from their men, or condemn them for not being that absurd. Most do not, which is a very good thing. But if this becomes a cultural norm, we will have to stay on our guards. My problem with Fifty Shades of Grey is how shamelessly it promotes unrealistic expectations and expects women to just adopt them without question. Romance is one thing; this is entirely another.

isney Channel has been morphed into a channel (now channels) almost unrecognizable by children of the 90s. As a whole, the Eagle’s View newspaper staff does not like the new setup of Disney Channel – at all. Why change something that is already so good? But that is exactly what the producers did. Even the logo is different; the logo young kiddos around the world would pretend to outline during each intro. This was the life (hold on tight) – a classic reference that only those who lived through the glamorous Old Disney times would understand. Those of you reading this, uneducated of the impact Disney Channel has had on so many lives, we are so sorry. You have missed out big time. Looking back at these simpler times, we often times wonder what the future will hold. Will Disney Channel even exist, or will it simply be a blast to the past? Whatever the case, we will always have the memories of Hannah Montana’s double identity or Zack and Cody’s ridiculous life to keep us content.

enior year for any high school student can be a very important point in an educational career. Most seniors have quite the road to travel during their last year at Liberty North. One road less taken than others, however, is the path of senior year athletics. “My favorite part of Basketball is probably the winning traditions, and how we have gone to districts is the best part,” senior Brian Sharp said. The men’s basketball team has made it to district for the last three years, and made it to the final four in 2012 and 2013. “Playing on the team has been different every year, this year being the best, and it being helpful having four other seniors to be teammates with,“ Senior Zach Thompson said. Thompson has played on basketball all four of his high school years, and starting on varsity this year. The seniors also use their time on the team to help

out younger players. “Our class uses our experience to lead all the younger guys and help them out,” Thompson said. Out of the entirety of the varsity team, only five players are seniors, with the eight others being juniors and underclassmen. Senior Matt Richards was also asked about his experiences with North Basketball. “The experience on the team was the time of my life, to be honest because I had such a good relationship with the team and the other players,” Richards said. Richards recently helped lead the men’s basketball team to a victory against Oak Park on 44-40. “The Seniors leave a legacy, and a way of doing things. We hold a responsibility to the younger players,” Richards said. The men’s team has various accolades, including going to the Final Four in 2012, and 2013.
sh t With the basketball season almost wrapped up, Liberty North Senior stars are soon going to have to say goodbye to their high school sport and team. On the Women’s basketball team, the seniors have been working hard for their last year on the team. “The experience was pretty good, we really lead the way, and (younger teammates) asked questions and really looked up to us,” senior Laken Kroge said. Kroge is one of the four senior girls playing on the women’s basketball team. “Its really fun to grow as a team and as individuals,“ senior Stephanie Boan said. The Women’s Varsity Seniors have had experience through this season and last with their fellow upperclassmen and have shown skill through their five wins this season. “As the years go on it gets better, mainly because

we know more of what to expect,” senior Ashley Rose said. Rose has been on the women’s basketball team for all of her high school career, staying for a consecutive four years. “With more experience we already know what to expect from practices and other teams, so we are able to help out (the underclassmen) a lot”, Rose said. The Women’s team puts practice as a top priority, training nearly every weekday. “My favorite (experience on the team) was our game against Kearney, where everyone played a great game,” Boan said. On January 9 Liberty North beat Kearney for the first time in Women’s Varsity Basketball history 41 to 36.
