We wish to pay tribute to the enormous contribution that Lisheen has made to the economic development of this area, and also to its integration with, and support of so many local community groups. elcome ladies and gentlemen to our presentation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. Many months of preparation have gone into, once again, bringing this show to life in Thurles. The Phoenix family is most grateful to all who have assisted us in so many ways in 2014/15. The recession has had such a negative effect upon many artistic endeavours and in that regard we must acknowledge that Phoenix Productions would simply not have survived without their help and the support of so many of you as loyal patrons, sponsors and friends.

Synopsis & Musical Numbers Synopsis
Based on the smash hit 1991 Disney movie and dating back to a late 18th-century classic French fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a beautiful and intelligent young woman who feels out of place in her provincial French village. When her father is imprisoned in a mysterious castle, Belle’s attempt to rescue him leads to her capture by the Beast, a grisly and fearsome monster, who was long ago trapped in his gruesome form by an enchantress. The only way for the Beast to become human once again is if he learns to love and be loved in return.
There is a time limit, too: once a magical rose loses all of its petals, all hope will be lost and he will stay a Beast forever. The Beast’s enchanted household--populated by such beloved characters as Mrs. Potts, Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Chip--watch anxiously as Belle and the Beast grow to understand and befriend one another. Their feelings grow ever deeper as the clock ticks and petals continue to fall off the enchanted rose--will they confess their love for one another before it is too late?
Odd, What makes you think that? Maurice (Harry Hogan) Musical Numbers

The Phoenix Committee
The committee of Phoenix Productions continue to work behind-the-scenes to make the show the best production possible. Every effort is made to support, assist and encourage all members of Phoenix to grasp the nettle and make the show vibrant, successful and worthwhile. Some members have been on the committee for many years when their own children have long left the organisation. We thank them for their unfailing commitment to the ethos and spirit of Phoenix Productions. Led by the Chairperson Mary Blake, the commitment and dedication of this committee has been outstanding. A Special Thanks... We in Phoenix Productions are delighted once again to have received such wonderful encouragement and assistance from the local community. Many thanks again to Ms. Miriam Butler, Principal, Scoil Ailbhe, Primary School for their unbelievable generosity in giving us the use of the school for countless rehearsals in 2014/15. We wish her every blessing in her retirement. To the members of Thurles Lions Club who loyally provide ushers for our nightly shows we thank you for your professionalism and friendship.
