He graduated from the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork in June 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Fine Art. His primary practice focused on lens based media. While in Cork, Eamonn began to establish himself as an artistic director and arts producer. He produced two major exhibitions including: “Are we there yet?” (AWTY) in 2013, a multidiscipline arts exhibition that featured 64 artists and hosted 6 performances throughout the week; and his degree show “Na hOibreacha”, a 53 artist exhibition of which he chaired and featured in. In theatre Eamonn worked with CIT Musical Society as artistic director and co-producer on three productions: ‘Tick, Tick… Boom’ (2011); ‘A New Brain’ (2011 & 2012); and ‘Into the Woods’ (2013). Eamonn was a member of Phoenix Productions since 2007 for their production of ‘Seussical the Musical’. Since then Eamonn performed in many of there productions until he became production manager/marketer for ‘Phantom of the Opera’ (2013) and ‘Bugsy Malone’ (2014) and produced their 2015 production of ‘Beauty and the Beast Jr.’.

biographY

Eamonn B. Shanahan is an artist and producer from Ireland. His strong work ethic is motivated by his passion for the arts and its further continuance and development. Motivating and curating arts projects, supporting and developing collaborating artists and participating in the evolution of cultural landscapes are the basis for his drive.

As a marketing agent Eamonn works with ‘The Irish College of Music Theatre’ for who he applies his skills in design and online marketing since the college’s inception in 2014. This freelance work continues as producer, artistic director, designer, filmmaker and photographer with such artists as Molly Lynch, Amanda Neri, The Key Notes, Derby Browne, Lisa Lambe, Voci Nuove, Catherine Daly, Teachers’ Musical Society, Briony O’Toole Opera in the Open among others. In 2014 Eamonn’s debut short film ‘Workspace’ toured galleries around Ireland including Lismore Castle Arts, Waterford; Alliance Francaise, Cork; and The Source Arts Centre, Thurles. In September 2015 Eamonn completed his Master of Arts in Creative Producing at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. This intensive course delved into the depths of arts management and creative entrepreneurship while also engaging with advanced study in performance research, archiving and understanding a deeper knowledge of the cultural landscape. His MA led Eamonn to English National Opera where he worked as assistant producer and company manager with the ENO Baylis department, working on their Opera Works programme. In 2015 Eamonn began the development of his first musical, collaborating with Cian MacSuibhne, Briony O’ Toole and Aileen Coffey, producing and directing ‘Duodeca’. This production enjoyed its first workshop in August 2015 and is currently in the development stage. In Christmas 2015, Eamonn directed and co-produced The Source Arts Centre’s pantomime ‘Aladdin’. 3
