Dimmer Helligkeitsregler für Anzeigeelemente Illumination control devices for displays Régulateur de clarté pour indicateurs

Dimmer I ED I LD I MD

Lassen Sie sich nicht blenden !

Don`t let your eyes be dazzled !

Mit den Elektronik Dimmern können Sie die Helligkeit Ihrer Anzeigeelemente und Hintergrundbeleuchtungen den jeweiligen Lichtverhältnissen anpassen. Stabil - unabhängig von der Last.

With electronic dimmers you can control the brightness of your displays and background illumination in respect of existing light conditions. Stable - independant of load current.

Bringen Sie Licht ins Dunkle !

Make the darkness bright !

By night, in the tunnel or in the controlroom... With our dimmers we offer solutions for permanent illumination with contrasty and distinctive brightness.

Three series offer the solution for your demands. Panel-mounting or rail clip-on. Either to be used in the positive or negative lead. Either controlled by potentiometers or pushbuttons. Basic brightness adjustable. Cascading possible (Master- / Slave- mode) Programmable for different parameters of LED`s and incandescent lamps. Drei Serien bieten die Lösung für Ihre Anforderungen. Frontmontage oder schnappbar auf Hutschiene. Installation in die Minus- oder Plusleitung. Regelbar mit Potentiometern oder Tasten. Grundhelligkeit einstellbar.

Application in industrial areas. All electronics dimmers are rigid and shockproof to be applied in rolling stock and ships. But also cranes, airports and sluices ask for dimmers to conrol displays. That is to say, everywhere where staff has to observe control units and the surrounding day and night.

Upgrading of existing devices. BTC dimmers are suitable to be integrated into existing devices, fast and simply.

Datasheet Description MD Series Dimmers are microprocessor-controlled PWM dimmers for top-hat rail mounting. They are suitable for the operation of filament lamps and LEDs with series resistors. The connected lamps are switched on and off with a frequency of 120 Hertz. These switching processes are not visible to the human eye. The ratio of the on and off times determines the brightness and this can be set on the dimmer. The control of the dimmer takes place via one or two keys or a potentiometer. When it is switched on the dimmer detects which controller option is installed. The base brightness can be set by a trimming potentiometer. The load current is constantly monitored and switches off in the event of an overload. After the switch-off the dimmer carries out tests at periodic intervals to check whether the load current is in the nominal range and then switches itself on again. A status display provides information on the operating status of the dimmer. The dimmers can be cascaded by means of plug-in jumpers. In this case a module takes over the master function at which the brightness is set with one of the controller options. The other dimmers operate as slaves and follow the settings on the master unit. The link between the dimmers is metallically separated and in this way permits their use in different load circuits. The dimmers are designed for operation in 24VDC systems and are available for operation in the positive or negative arm of the load circuit. Both versions can dim a load of 60W.

As many dimmers as you like can be cascaded with plugin jumper ST-6002. Here the left dimmer module when looked at from the front is the master module (see mounting instructions). Any type of single operating controller can be connected to this dimmer and the base brightness level can be set with the trimmer. All the connected dimmers are galvanically separated from one another. P and N modules can be combined as desired.

Datasheet Mounting instructions To mount the dimmer clamp the upper locating lug behind the rail.

Then with the help of a screwdriver push the tongue of the lower locating lug over the rail. To dismantle prise the lower locating lug off the rail using a screwdriver and remove the dimmer.

For cascading dimmers using plug-in jumpers, type ST-6002, latch the desired number of dimmers beside one another on the mounting rail with a spacing of 4mm between each. Then the dimmers are connected by the plug-in jumpers.

Description

The dimmers from the UD/UDS series are digital PWM dimmers for faceplate mounting. The dimmers are suitable for operation both with filament lamps and with LED with series resistor. A dimmer consists of a dimmer module with locking connector and a facing element. The pulse width of the square wave voltage at the output of the dimmer is adjusted by the integrated potentiometer. The frequency of the square-wave oscillation is approx. 125 Hz and cannot be perceived by the naked eye. The eye perceives the brightness which is proportional to the pulse width of the oscillation.

In the UD modules the minimum adjustable brightness is fixed with the lateral trimmer. The brightness of the connected lamps is adjusted from the fixed minimum to full brightness by the potentiometer. In the UDS modules (with switch) the lateral trimmer fixes the maximum adjustable brightness. The potentiometer regulates from off to the fixed maximum brightness. Dimmers modules for nominal voltages 24 - 48 VDC an 72 - 110 VDC are available, both in a negative and in a positive version. By means of a selection of facing elements, different design variants are available for installation. All facing elements feature the protection class IP65.

* Operation outside the limit values, even if only briefly, can lead to a malfunction or to damage to the device.

Safty and Operating Notes Next to the plug connector there is an evaluation LED. In the case of overload this LED flashes at approx. 3 Hz. In the case of over-temperature this LED flashes at approx. 2 Hz. In both cases the load is disconnected until the operating conditions are satisfied again. The load output is not electrically isolated from the input. The potentiometer axle must not be overturned. α= turning range of potentiometer axle
