T U R K E Y Uniquely positioned between Europe and Asia, Turkey is a cultural epicenter with strong ties to trade dating back to the Silk Road. Walk the streets of Istanbul and let the impressive architecture transport your imagination back to the Ottoman Empire. Follow your senses to the Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest markets in the world. Here

you can explore a colorful array of handcrafted items, beautiful textiles and powerful spices. Unlike anything you’ve ever seen, the Grand Bazaar is the epitome of sensory overload. As you wander along the streets of Turkey, you’ll notice a sea of blue glass eyes following you throughout your journey. The Nazar Boncugu, also called ‘The Evil Eye’,

can be found throughout Turkey anywhere you look. It is thought to ward off bad luck, but when Turks are asked if they believe it, most simply shrug their shoulders. Despite the indifference of most, the Nazar Boncugu still offers peace of mind, like a blanket for a child. It is said when an evil eye cracks, it has done its job protecting you from negative energy.

Like something out of a fairytale, Bali is the epitome of mystical bliss. You hear about the sandy white beaches and impressive temples, but you can never truly understand the allure until you witness it. From the first step off the plane, tropical breezes and the scent of incense captivates you. Traveling throughout the island toward Ubud, the welcoming spirit and humble traditions remind us to focus on life’s simplicity. Ubud is known as the artistic center of

Bali where intricate wood carving has been practiced for hundreds of years and passed down from generation to generation. They are carved from the fast growing Albizia wood, which can grow up to 30 ft tall in just 2 years. 1 Black & White Mask with Scarlet Accents - 10 x 6 x 4in 2 Black & White Mask with Scarlet Accents - 16 x 6 x 3in 3 Black Mask with White Accents - 19 x 6 x 3in 4 Black Mask with White Accents - 20 x 6.5 x 1in 5 Asmat Man - 7 x 6 x 12in Meaning ‘People of the Trees’. 6 Gold Wise Buddha Mask - 14 x 8 x 4.5in The elongated ears in this mask symbolize wisdom.

Zebras, elephants and giraffes, oh my! Kenya is synonymous with savannahs and safaris. It will always remind us of the majestically brave animals from our childhood, all beautiful and unique. As we ride across the savanna in a sturdy Jeep, dirt kicking up behind us, exploring Kenya the way it was intended, we observe. Waiting, watching, and listening as we hold our breath to simply behold a glimpse of Nature’s magnificent wildlife. This is what Mother Nature intended for her children - humans and animals living in harmony without unnecessary destruction. Animals here in Kenya are respected, guarded and protected. We’re meant to learn from them, not hurt them. “A man who uses force is afraid of reasoning” – Kenyan Proverb These banana leaf figures represent some of our favorite African wildlife, including giraffes (2), elephants (3), and zebras (4). Each one is handmade in Kenya from 100% dried banana leaf fibers. Another one of our favorite pieces is the giraffe wood carving (1) made 1 from the impressive Yellowwood Tree.

Soapstone is known for being a soft metamorphic rock that can be used to carve and create art. The Kissi soapstone figures are handmade in Kenya and are named after the Kisii tribe of Tabaka Hills in Western Kenya. They are made by immersing the soapstone in water so that it is easier to carve and mold the figures. 4

P E R U From the awe-inspiring view of the Andes Mountains to the incomprehensible number of species living in the Amazon Rainforest, Peru is very high in biodiversity. The extensive difference in climate and geography allows for the country to house a vast array of wildlife, including half of the world’s butterfly population. The butterflies we have in stores are always male as females are the ones who lay eggs and continue the species. None of the butterflies we offer are endangered or protected by the Peruvian State. T H A I L A N D This Southeast Asian country offers something for everyone, from tasty street food, breathtaking beaches and jungles to the roaring nightlife of Bangkok. Traveling is simple and cheap with the help of buses, tuk-tuks, motorbikes, trains, and of course, boats and ferries. Your exploration wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the intricate canals and waterways.

You can’t miss out on coasting between the different towns to take in the scenery and get an authentic feel for life on a waterway. There is something serenely calming about traveling by boat and gaining a unique perspective. Water is a true way of life in Thailand, not only for getting around, but also for casting out your line. Fishing is the most popular hobby and

industry in Thailand. This is how the traditional Fisherman pant became popular. You can often find fishermen wearing this lightweight trouser with a wide waist and large legs, allowing freedom of movement. After all, that is what Thailand truly has to offer, the freedom to flow through our lives with thoughtful appreciation and childlike wonder.

M E X I C O Ocean breeze, toes in the sand, beautiful sunsets and not a care in the world. This is life in Baja California, Mexico. Imagine yourself kicking back next to your board with a Baja Pullover on,

and a beverage in hand. This is ultimate comfort. The bright textiles of the indigenous people and their homes inspire the designs we see on Mexican Blankets. Fajas and sarapes are traditional

clothing made on a loom with unique striped patterns that make us reminisce about watching the sun slowly creep towards the salty waves as the tide brings us upon another gorgeous evening.

QUERÉTARO, MEXICO

G U A T E M A L A Guatemala is a colorful Central American country with heavy Spanish and Mayan influence in everything from their mouthwatering dishes and festive music to bright textiles. The vibrant colors and patterns we associate with Guatemala are originally

a part of the Mayan culture. Each intricate design can be traced back to the village it came from, making it easy to distinguish its unique history and origin. Our small worry dolls are made in Guatemala. It’s said that if someone has too many worries

and cannot sleep then they should place a worry doll underneath their pillow. The doll is believed to worry in the person’s place allowing them to sleep. The person will wake up without any of their worries, which have been taken away by the doll.
