s you are stepping into the first lines of this bulletin you might be at home chilling, you might be a master at work – it doesn’t matter where you are now. It’s about where you’re going – in less than month you will be a proud member of the 34th European Architecture Students Assembly – EASA 2014 “Symбиоза”, in the lovely city of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Here is a pack of inspiring news from the Bulgarian EASA Headquarters and some charming hints on how to get yourself prepared for the upcoming assembly. So make yourself comfortable, here we go …

ll participants and NCs are expected to be in Veliko Tarnovo on July 19th, not later than 17 PM, when important events will start taking place. Tutors are to arrive one day earlier – on July 18th, although some will be joining us as early as July 10th – to get the preparations going (foundations and stuff). For the almighty helpers – be welcome on July 15th, in order to help us with setting up the camp. Be on time!

Y
ou can come to Veliko Tarnovo in many ways: plane to some nearby airport (Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas or Varna) and then a bus. You can come by car (some parking spots will be available), you can hitchhike, and you can take the train. Bicycles, motorcycles and skaters are also welcome. Anyway, we strongly advise you to join the carpool platform “Aha-car�, which are proud partners of EASA 2014: http://ahacar.com/event/21 All you have to do is register in the website and join someone traveling to Veliko Tarnovo the same day. Have fun!

hen packing, make sure you don’t forget the sleeping bag and mat (camp style), showering stuff (towels and soap), your eating pack (plate and/or bowl, spoon, knife, fork and a cup) and your swimming suit. If you have a portable computer it is a good idea to take it with for working on it (and FB bitching too). Bring your cash in euro. Also, when budgeting your trip have in mind that a 20 euro deposit will be collected from todo el mundo in the beginning of the assembly. Then at the end, eventual damage will be calculated and fixed with this money. If everything is perfect, you will get back 20 euro. Every country has to bring a national flag. Be patriot.

longside the magnificent workshops, other events will also be taking place during EASA 2014. Lectures will be delivered by Nedko Solakov, Jan Doms, Kalin Yanakiev, Dimitar Stoyanovich and others. The least you can do is Google these names and anticipate some highly motivating speeches and performances. By the way, do you like live music? You’ve got it – look forward to enjoying Karandila Orchestra and Balkanksy with Theodosii Spassov. Youtube, iTunes… buy the album. EASA spirit. But most important of all – excursion day: on July 27th we’ll all get on the buses and go to… a secret trip. The excursion is obligatory for everybody, and will be an overnight experience – we return on the 28th. The cost for the excursion will be not more than 20 euro (also foresee these in your budget). A mass bungee jump is organized for EASA participants, from the “Stambolov” bridge in the center of Veliko Tarnovo. Do you dare? We are going for a Guinness World Record for number of jumps from one rope in 24 h. 15 euros will get you flying. Not to mention the Final party (August 2nd). It will be a straight banger, make sure you stay for the whole night, and then the flight.
