SPRING ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL 2016 | 1-7 MAY BELARUS | MINSK
Small European Students of Architecture Meeting (SESAM) - The SESAM is the EASA network event. - The SESAM can give an addition and/or alternative to the education of students. The independence and off-university-character creates an informal atmosphere. -The international character allows participants to learn about other working and teaching methods. The interdisciplinary approach encourages the exchange of different points of view and different presentation media. -The SESAM is a workshop with a small number of participants. Through this concentrated character the SESAM allows work on a tight theme.

DIFFICULTIES: • communication (some participants were ignoring our emails) • punctuality (architects are always late) • EASA network support (some NCs did not spread the information about the SESAM at all)
• • • • • • • • • • •
ADVICE:
inform participants about checking visa requirements create a bank account to collect participation fee in advance look not only for money but for any kind of support Spread info about the event, you never know where you can find support divide responsibilities between organizers, but each one should have full information support each other, there are a lot of stressful situations team building is vital, celebrate your achievements take safety deposit to prevent some unexpected expenses use the EASA network for spreading information involve new people to extend the EASA family final event evaluation is important for team development
BENEFITS FOR ORGANIZERS: • we became really close friends • we got new professional contacts • we made a contribution to the EASA network and the EASA promotion • we withstood a crash-test • we opened Terra Incognita for foreign and local participants
